What's Up Wednesday?!

Yay for Wednesday! We're on the downhill slide of our week ladies! And, it's the last day of September, which makes it even better! October, here we come!
I'm linking up with a few bloggers for What's Up Wednesday!

  • What We're Eating This Week..... Monday night I came home and I actually cooked! We are sort of struggling with our back to school routine and late nights with football, so cooking has taken a back seat. But, Monday night, I made a cracker crusted chicken, steamed broccoli, and squash. We grabbed a quick bite to eat after dance last night, but tonight we're having Tacos! Thursday nights we typically grab a bite to eat because it's another late dance night, and Friday's are pizza nights!
  • What I'm Reminiscing About.... On the way home from school yesterday, the girls were talking about what they wanted to be for Halloween. Gone are the days that I get to choose, and now they have their own opinions! Gretchen wants to be an Egyptian princess, and Megan wants to be the Little Mermaid. Thankfully, Adalyn doesn't care too much and I can still squeeze in some super cute costumes with her! And just for a little throw back- here are the girls from last year.

  • What I'm Loving...I'm definitely loving my Gentle Baby oil! I diffuse it every night when we get home to help the girls calm themselves after a busy day at school!

  • What We've Been Up To..... You can check out yesterday's weekend wrap up post, but our days are consisting of school, dance, and our weekends consist of football!
  • What I'm Dreading.... Hmm, that's a tough one! I think I'm dreading how hectic our October is going to be! We have parent/teacher conference night, fall break, lots of IEP meetings, two nights a week of dance, football games, and we have to carve out time for the pumpkin patch, I'm heading out of town one weekend, and we're heading to Dallas in a few weeks! It's going to be a crazy month! I'm dreading that it will be busy and hectic, but I'm excited about the memories and fun times we'll have!
  • What I'm Working On... This week, I'm working on Halloween treat bucket orders for HPA. I have 5 treat buckets to embroider and then I'm going to start working on Christmas pajamas!
  • What I'm Excited About... Again, our busy month we have planned ahead! October is always so fun because it kicks off the holiday season and we get to make some fabulous family memories!
  • What I'm Watching/Reading... I'm so glad that our Fall shows are back on! Our favorites are Two Broke Girls, The Big Bang Theory, and Grey's Anatomy.
  • What I'm Listening To... Nothing! The girls are in the bed, DJ is still at work, and I'm enjoying some peace and quiet!
What I'm Wearing...

You can see more of What I Wore from last weeks post!

What I'm Doing This Weekend...
TU plays Houston this weekend and the girls and I are heading to the game!

  • What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month...
    • Heading to the pumpkin patch with my crazies!
      • What Else is New... Hmm.... I feel like it's "same old, same old" around here!
I'm so glad you stopped by! I hope you have the best day!

      Weekend Wrap-Up: The Bye Weekend

This weekend was like no other weekend we will have this fall. We had a Bye Weekend, which meant, we had DJ home! It was so fabulous to have him home Friday night and all of Saturday! It might be my favorite weekend of all football season ;)
We started off Friday with purple day at Meggie's preschool. She wore purple shoes, purple and white stripe shorts, a purple tee, and a purple bow. Her purple backpack was the perfect preschool accessory.

She was not cooperative for a picture though Friday morning. Girlfriend was a bit grouchy and wanting to get in to school.

DJ got home Friday afternoon and cut the grass and cleaned out the garage. I rounded up the girls after school and we headed home.
Addy Pearl was pretty cranky. She had only slept an hour at daycare, so she was full of cuddles. We ended up ordering pizza for dinner, the big girls played, and Addy and I cuddled on the sofa.

After dinner, Addy got a quick bath, and I rocked her to sleep. She was just SO tired, and in 5 minutes flat, girl was out. I haven't rocked her to sleep in forever and I totally enjoyed the cuddle time.
Once I got Addy down, I headed outside to see Gretchen riding her bike and Megan playing in the yard.
We played outside until right after dark, and then got the big girls in the bed.
Saturday morning, I woke up and diffused this trio of oils. It's the time of year for weather changes, so we're battling seasonal sniffles with a few of our favorite oils!
Megan had about 5 wardrobe changes before 10 am.
And Addy came over and said, "belly" when she saw me breaking out the oils for the diffuser! She totally knows where her oils go and she loves them!
I spent the morning cleaning and decorating for fall.

DJ helped out by taking the girls to the park. I had an hour of quiet and pure bliss while I cleaned and decorated.
After lunch, Megan came down for some cuddles.

A few minutes later, she was sound asleep.

DJ carried her upstairs, and after nap time, we had family dinner, baths, and got ready for bed.

Sunday morning, the girls woke us up requesting doughnuts for breakfast.
So, we quickly got ready for church and headed to Krispy Kreme.
      Doughnuts for the win!
      We love Krispy Kreme!
After a doughnut breakfast, we headed to church, and the girls requested a picture with John Wesley.
And then Addy ran ahead while DJ had to catch up with her!

DJ left church a few minutes early and headed to football. I rounded up the girls and we came home for lunch and naps.
I did some sewing during nap time.

And once Addy was awake, we headed to the football office for our team dinner.
Then we came home again and ran around outside.

Addy went to bed and DJ made it home and we decided that it would be fun for the girls to stay up to watch the lunar eclipse.
So, we headed outside for some moon gazing.
This girl loves to learn! She studied the moon and all of its phases last year in first grade, and she loved being able to watch the eclipse!

Gretchen played in the yard while we were waiting. She found a frog and tried to throw it on me! Fun fact, but I am terrified of frogs or anything that might jump on me!
      Our moon gazer.
      Showing us the moon.
Sitting on their play house is her favorite spot.
And, sometimes she stands on it too.
We had put Megan to bed, but she wasn't falling asleep (I think the moon had something to do with that!) So we let her come outside to watch the eclipse too.
      Our middle child moon gazer!

Once we saw the moon covered, we sent the girls back inside and straight to bed!

We had a pretty fabulous weekend! It went by way too fast, and I may be counting down to another weekend already!

      Favorite Things: Scarves

It's a Favorite Things party today with Andrea and Erika! Today, we're talking our favorite scarves!

I have to be honest, this post was pretty hard for me since it's still 90+ degrees outside! My heart is longing for fall and cooler weather, but the weather man is telling us we must wait a bit longer!

A few years ago, DJ and I lived in Indiana. I know if we were still there, I'd be wearing scarves already, and I swear I hated the cold weather, so I'm not going to complain about 90 degrees right now, because summer is by far my favorite!

That being said, I had to dig into the archives to find a few of my favorite scarves from last season.
I love a good leopard print scarf. I'm a firm believer that leopard is a neutral. Mine is super lightweight, so I can get away with wearing it fall, winter, and spring. Now, I could probably wear it in the summer too, but I just cannot do scarves in the summer. No thank you.

I don't even remember where I bought my leopard print scarf, but I found one at Target here, and this isn't an infiniti style, but I loved this option too.

Last year, my chunky infiniti scarf was worn a ton!

      Exhibit A^
      And, Exhibit B.

There was nothing more cozy than this scarf!

I couldn't find my exact scarf, but I found these.

I'm a sucker for a blanket scarf. Last year, I sold these in my shop and monogrammed them for y'all! They were hot, hot, hot! I wore my monogrammed blanket scarf all the time!
I loved that I could layer, and wrap it different ways. Plus, if it was really cold in my office, I could totally wrap up in it. Blanket scarves are amazing! They do take some time figuring out exactly how to tie it, but once you do, you'll be hooked. You can head over to this blog to figure out a few ways to tie your blanket scarf.

I was looking back through my Pinterest board to gather some inspiration to this post, and you can easily see why I'm a fan of the blanket scarf. It's half of my pins on my Fashionista Pin Board.

And, because I love blanket scarves so much, I figured that these might need to find their way in to my closet.

I absolutely love the buffalo red/black scarf!

So, what style is your favorite scarf? Are you even a scarf person?

I can't wait to read and see everyone's picks!

      Friday Favorites with HPA

Happy Friday Friends! I'm so excited that today has arrived. First of all, Friday is hands down the best day of the week. DJ typically takes all the girls to school, my schedule at work isn't as crazy, we're having a taco bar at lunch today, and pizza night, family time tonighht! Top that with the fact that TU has a bye weekend, and DJ has tomorrow off. #weekendherewecome

I'm linking up today with Erika, Narci, and Andrea for Friday Favorites! If you're new here, I'm so glad you stopped by today!
Have you heard of Rustic Cuff? Chance are, if you live in Tulsa you have. The founder, Jill, has an amazing story and a pay it forward initiative- Buy one bracelet, and give one away! I'm a part of their Addicts group on Facebook and I love reading their pay it forward stories! Adalyn's daycare is selling these bracelets for a school fundraiser, and they just so happen to be TU colors, so I'm snagging myself one. I am also taking orders, so if you need a blue, gold, and white bracelet, shoot me an email and I'll ship yours to you for free! The adult size bracelets are $32.00 and child size are $30.00.  I have several of our coaches wives ordering themselves one and even my cousin, whose daughter is a cheerleader- their school colors are blue and gold, so she's snagging one for her daughter's cheer coach as a Christmas present! Rustic Cuff is definitely a favorite around Tulsa!
Adalyn's daycare teacher has been sharing some pics while she's at school, and it's definitely a favorite of mine to see my girl having fun!
Monday night, the little girls and I played in the backyard while Gretchen read books in her room.
Playing outside is definitely their favorite! And DJ may be a bit embarrassed that our grass is so tall! He was going to cut it on Sunday and then it rained the night before. Cutting the grass is on his honey-do list for tomorrow!
Megan definitely has her own sense of style. The girl insists on wearing socks and shoes all the time. Earlier this week, she went to put on her shoes and as we got to her preschool, I realized her socks didn't match. I'm 100% sure she did this on purpose and apparently, it's the style to have mismatched socks, but I digress.
I found a new way to keep our Natives clean! Adalyn wears these every day to daycare and they get rather filthy. I ran a sinkful of water, added a capful of my Thieves cleaner, and let them soak for a bit. Then, I just grabbed a washcloth, and wiped her shoes clean. It was easy peasy, and my Thieves cleaner has no harmful chemicals or ingredients. #winning
And, speaking of Thieves, I was starting to feel ran down with some sniffles earlier this week, and my throat was on fire, so I used my RC oil around my nose to stop the sniffles and I used my Thieves spray to ease my throat. In no time, I was feeling SO much better!

My essential oils are definitely a favorite!
As usual, Megan fell asleep in the car on several occasions this week. Girlfriend, does not sleep at school during their rest time, so she crashes in the car on the way home.
Have you heard of Think Dirty? It's an app available on iPhone and it's super cool. You simply scan the products in your bathroom, and it will tell you their toxicity levels. I have been using Secret deodorant for YEARS, but not any more. I've been looking for a less toxic alternative, so I picked up Tom's of Maine, and it was rated a 3, as compared to Secrets rating of a 10. A TEN! How crazy is it that we are putting toxic deodorant near our girls (if you know what I mean.)
Adalyn had picture day earlier this week, and I tried to take her picture in the morning, but she was not cooperating. Instead, she was blowing raspberries.
      Or squeeling.
Or poking her finger in her eye.

I really hope her school picture turned out better than her before school pictures.
Wednesday evening, the girls and I headed outside to practice our basketball skills.
Gretchen had me timing how long she could dribble a ball. Her longest time was 20 seconds.

DJ hopes that basketball will be a favorite amongst our girls!
And last night after dance and gymnastics, we headed to Bass Pro to see the fish and pick up a present for my stepdad's birthday.
Addy was squeeling and pointing, and Megan was asking where Santa Claus was. (Because we see him at Bass Pro every Christmas, and she thinks it's the North Pole.)
After checking out the fish, we headed to the boats, where the girls suggested we buy one for their Pawpaw.

      And, listen up:
If you're interested in learning how you can use essential oils on your pets, my team is hosting a spOIL your pets event this Monday night on Facebook! If you want an invite, shoot me an email or message me on Facebook and I'll get you invited!

That's it for our Friday Favorites! I'm so glad you stopped by today!
      Have a great weekend!
