This weekend was amazing. I probably haven't said that about a weekend in way too long. We definitely needed a weekend where everyone was having tons of fun, our to-do's list were accomplished, and we all got along!
Friday morning, DJ took the big girls to school (since he didn't have to be at work until later in the morning), so I snapped a few pics of them before I headed out the door to take Adalyn to daycare.
Friday was yellow day for Megan. The night before she told me that she did NOT want to wear yellow, so I was happily surprised when she came down in a yellow dress.
And, since it was September 11th, I used it as an excuse to dress Adalyn in one more patriotic dress before we had to pack it away with her summer clothes.
I attempted to get a picture of all three girls, but Adalyn was not happy that her big sisters were spoiling her modeling moment.
And, Miss Gretchen in her "Paris" dress. This girl is Paris obsessed.
I shared last week that Megan's teacher sends daily recaps with pictures, and I loved getting the one above of Megan. I'm not at all surprised that she was playing with babies and in the kitchen.
DJ and the team headed to New Mexico Friday afternoon, so once I rounded up the girls we headed home for some sleepover fun! I had promised both Megan and Gretchen that they could each have a friend over on the first away game of the season.
Once the big girls arrived, Adalyn wanted nothing to do with them and only wanted to hang out with her momma! I'll take it!
We made pizzas and each girl was able to make their own.
Adalyn added tons and tons of pepperoni.
Megan was pretty serious about her pizza making.
And then the big girls had their turn.
After we ate pizza, we headed outside to play.
Again, Addy was content just hanging back and sitting with me.
We played on the chalkboard, went down the slide, and enjoyed the cool weather!
After some play time, Addy went to bed, and we broke out ice cream and yummy candy toppings!
All the girls were anxiously waiting for the ice cream! I put a few oreos in a bag, and they each took turns crushing them up.
Gretchen's little friend is new to our school this year, and I'm so glad they have hit it off! These girls are becoming fast friends!
I had my hands full with these silly girls!
I let each girl choose their ice cream flavor and then they had sprinkles, m&m's, crushed oreos, and marshmallows for toppings.
Gretchen took full advantage of the candy situation!
After ice cream, we gathered up all of the blankets and made a huge pallet on the living room floor. We all agreed to watch Home.
I was really hoping the girls would crash at some point during the movie, but they did not. But, they were all really good and layed pretty still while watching their movie.
The movie ended after 10, and the big girls went up to Gretchen's room and the little girls fell asleep within minutes.
They were up around 7 the next morning, so we broke out an arts & crafts activity while I made pancakes.
I picked up foam door hangers and stickers and let the girls have at it while I made breakfast.
A little while later, I realized that we had let our dog out and forgot to let her back in! I sort of panicked, and thankfully, one of our neighbors called letting us know that they had our dog. Once I got the girls settled with breakfast, I headed a few houses down to pick up Bailey.
This is the first time she's ran off in our new neighborhood, but we had just let time get away, and I'm so glad that we didn't loose her! Bailey's has been in our family for 10 years now.
After our friends left, I spent the rest of the morning picking up around the house, and I found Megan like this:
The girl was tired!
She made me some art work once she woke up, and then we woke up Adalyn and headed to our friend's house to take them dinner and see their new baby boy! We stayed for around an hour and then headed home in time to catch the TU game on t.v.
I let the girls have a smorgasbord picnic for dinner.
We love spending Saturday nights cheering on our favorite team, and it's even better when we can do that at home in our pj's!
Addy stayed up until halftime, and then I tucked her in to bed. She was worn out from cheering "Go Tulsa" during the game!
Gretchen finally admitted that she was tired, and she went to bed at the start of the 3rd quarter.
Megan hung in their with me until the end of the 3rd quarter, and I explained the "good guys" and "bad guys" and she asked why there were police mans on the field. She was talking about the officials!
TU pulled out our 2nd win of the season, and I headed to bed a happy girl!
DJ finally made it home at 6 am Sunday morning, and I woke up a few hours later so the girls and I could head to church.
Adalyn was a stowaway in my tub while I got ready.
We let DJ sleep and left for church. Thankfully, we made it home before he had to leave again.
Megan talked the entire way home about anything and everything!
The girls saw DJ for about 15 minutes before he headed back to the office. We had lunch, Addy went down for a nap, I did tons and tons of laundry, and then we headed to football for the team dinner Sunday night.
We're looking forward to another busy week and another weekend of football ahead!
Hope you had a great weekend too!
