Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend has been super busy and so much fun! I finally feel like we've had a productive weekend around these parts! Our last few weekends have been filled with celebrating, recovering from being out of town, and tons of laundry! Spring is always the busiest time of year for us, besides football season, and this weekend, I felt like we were able to "catch up".

DJ had football practice Friday night, so once I rounded up the girlies, we headed home and I sent Gretchen to clean her room while I cooked dinner. Once we ate dinner, I took the little girls out to play. (Gretchen was still cleaning.)
We bought Addy Pearl a cozy coupe for Christmas and she loves being pushed around in it! I'm sure she'll figure out that she can actually push herself with her feet, but seeing as to how one leg is still in a cast she hasn't figured it out yet!
We explored and played with a little lady bug that we found.
And Adalyn pushed her car.

As of last Wednesday, she started to walk on her cast, which means her leg is finally healed! DJ will be taking her later this afternoon to have her cast removed! Pray for his sanity!
We got out our little princess hot wheel for Meggie to cruise around in.

DJ made it home around 8, and I finally went for a run that felt really good. I finally pushed myself to really run, and to run a longer distance than I had been.
Saturday morning, I woke up early and got in the shower and then we had breakfast and got ready to head to spring practice. I'll be sharing more about that later this week and what it's like being a football wife this time of year!

Addy Pearl played in the sink while I dried my hair!
It was really cold Saturday at the football field! We bundled up and had snacks!

Meggie didn't want to take her picture with mommy! She was being a little goof!
Once practice was over, the girls played on the field, we waited on DJ to finish editing, and Adalyn and I stole doughnuts! Then we took the girls to Chick-Fil-A for lunch and so they could play a bit.

Once we got home, Adalyn went down for a nap, the big girls played and then Gretchen got ready for her "date."
We had originally planed dinner at our friends' house, but David (the dad) had plans to play golf, so Lauren (the mom) decided to take Gretchen and Connor to the movie. (Connor and Gretchen became friends last year when they were in kindergarten together. They've since been in a pretty serious relationship!) All day long, Gretchen was telling everyone that she had a date!

When she was picking out her dress, she Megan asked her why she chose that one, and she said, "because it shows my personality!" I about died.
And I snapped a picture of both girls together before Gretchen left!
Since Gretchen went out with Connor, we kept his little sister, Lyla. Megan and Lyla are the same age and are great little friends! We had promised Megan that she'd get ice cream for dinner since Gretchen was going to a movie, and the girls were so excited to get pink ice cream with sprinkles!
Addy loved her ice cream too!

After baths and bedtime, DJ and I stayed up and watched The Theory of Everything. It was such a good movie about Stephen Hawking! It was also heartbreaking at the same time.

We woke up on Sunday and I told DJ that I really felt like we needed to stay home from church. I hadn't had a full weekend home or time to really clean my house since before Spring Break back in March! I was feeling the pressure of a consistently dirty house, which, is to be expected with three girlies running around, but it was wearing on me. I would have one room clean one day, then it would get messy as another room would get cleaned the next day. So, we stayed home and got the house picked up and cleaned this morning, worked on laundry, and then DJ worked outside while the big girls played and Adalyn took a nap. I was able to catch up on some orders!
Once Addy woke up, she and I went outside to watch DJ dig up crab grass. Do people actually do this? I had never heard of people digging up crab grass before! But, that's probably because I grew up in the country and no one cared what our grass looked like!
Meggie cruised on her bicycle most of the afternoon!
And Adalyn ran around! We cannot wait for this cast to come off tomorrow!
Megan decided she needed to help her daddy mow the grass. I thought this was the cutest thing ever seeing her "mow" the lawn!
We took a break from playing outside while I started dinner and Adalyn tried on her big sisters shoes!
Then we all sat down to enjoy these yummy enchiladas!

After dinner, I put away more laundry. (Does it ever end?) And then I worked on a bit more sewing before bedtime!

We had such a busy weekend! Full of some fun, some sun, and some family time!

It was pretty perfect!
