Hello Friends (and Friday!) I'm really glad that both of you are here today! Seriously, this little blog corner and you all make me happy! I'm linking up today with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites! It's one of my favorite round ups of the entire week!
First up this week, Gretchen turns 8 on the 26th!!! I am trying to not ball up and cry because there is no way possible that I have an 8 year old! I asked her a few weeks ago if she still wanted me to make her a shirt to wear on her birthday and she said she did. She's having an ice skating themed party next weekend, so she asked for a shirt with an "8" and an ice skate. I finished her shirt on Monday, and she's so excited about it!
Yesterday, I shared Addy Pearl's bedroom is on our house tour. If you missed it, you can check out her room here.
I also shared my Momfessional Moments on Tuesday, and I was pretty honest!!! You can check out that post here. And, then later on that day I realized I had forgotten a few, so I thought I'd share them today!
- When the ice cream truck drives by in our neighborhood, and it's playing the music, I tell the girls that the music is how they tell everyone the ice cream truck is out of ice cream!!! Isn't that awful? I'm thinking this summer I'll finally fess up and let them have some ice cream from the truck, and I'll have to remember to keep some cash on me!
- I think I mentioned that our bath nights are every other night. However, some days they've gone three nights without having a bath!
- When the girls have asked to play video games with DJ, we give them the wireless remote. Then they think they're playing too when they actually aren't.
- I use to do this one all of the time when it was just Gretchen, but now she can read and I have to be careful! But, if I have a rule for her and she's questioning me, I'll find a sign, and say, 'see, it says right here that......." I used this one on the airplane when we traveled to our bowl game. Megan wanted the tray table down and I was reading the words to her from the tray table, and I may have made up a few rules along the way and said that the tray table said it right there.
I am highly certain that I'll think of more and have to share them sometime!
Megan was full of electricity Monday night! And her daddy sure did have fun making her hair even more crazy!!! There were lots of giggles and "do it agains", followed by some "my turn", and "take my picture"!
The big girls and I enjoyed having our Monday home for MLK day! We sent Addy Pearl to school and caught up on laundry and some organizing around the house!
Ugh, this girl! She cannot take a picture without first making this face! She had picture day on Tuesday and was looking extra cute so I tried to snap a picture before school and she started out like this. Making silly faces is her favorite!
Daddy to the rescue- we had some smiles and giggles!
And then big sister jumped in on the action too!
A little while later, DJ and Addy were off to school, and it was just me and the girls finishing getting ready for our day.
I played around with my bracelet stacking before school! Bracelets are my favorite... I'm totally a bracelet girl over necklaces any day. My renegade from Stella & Dot just came in last week and I'm loving it! I paired it with this new reversible bracelet. Along with a bracelet from Rustic Cuff, and topped off with a tiny Stella & Dot bracelet that's now sold out :( But, this one is similar!
Addy Pearl was a climbing little monkey at dinner Tuesday night. She climbed up in my chair, gave me a big squeeze and I had to snap a picture! She's just the sweetest.
Wednesday just wore us out. I left work to pick up Megan, went by the post office, and then went to get Adalyn. I must have just missed DJ because we totally mis-communicated because he had just picked her up! The plan was for me to go to the grocery store and him to get Adalyn, but then we changed plans at the last minute, and I was just going to pick up chicken strips for dinner and go ahead and get Adalyn and run to the grocery store later in the evening..... Anyway, it was completely my fault! Thankfully, we all got where we needed to be!
Except Megan, that still doesn't get the memo that we're suppose to nap at school! She fell asleep close to the house so she woke up when we got out of the car, but apparently, could only make it to the couch before crashing. She literally fell asleep standing up and laying her head in the couch. I mean, she was exhausted! She slept like this for close to 45 minutes!
Gretchen and I headed out Wednesday night for church. She has been begging me to go, and since it's our only free night of the week, I was hesitant, but we agreed to her going every other week, and I was able to drop her off and go to the grocery store and pick up a few things for her birthday party!
While I was at Target, I picked up this tunic for Adalyn, and I fell in love with this poncho, but I wasn't sure if she'd be comfortable wearing it. I tried to find a link to the tunic, and came up empty handed! But, maybe it will be in stock at your local store if you want it!
Thursday morning, I found the girls smelling our diffuser! I didn't even know there was still an oil left in it, but they had turned it on, and sure enough there was some, and Megan kept smelling it saying it made her nose soft!
I was working away Thursday morning, and turned to see our principal walk in to my office with Gretchen! Thankfully, she wasn't in trouble, she was just being silly and sneaky! It was a great surprise to see her for just a few minutes before I sent her back to her class!
I've been weairng En-R-Gee this week like a mad woman! I'm not totally in love with the smell, but let me tell you, it's made me a lot more productive at work and has gotten me through our late nights of ballet, church, and grocery store trips!
But, this is probably my favorite scent right now!
Earlier this week, Young Living announced their new Vitality line! I squeeled with excitement knowing that these are the same oils that I already love, but they're now labeled as food safe should you choose to ingest oils! I can't wait to get my hands on a few of these bottles!
If you'd like to learn more about essential oils, you can leave your email in a comment below or send me an email here.
So, I think that's it for Friday Favorites around here! I'm looking forward to watching my big girl shoot some hoops tonight, getting a good run in, and enjoying a weekend at home with my favorite peeps! See you on Monday!
