Hey, hey friends!!! In true Friday Fashion, I'm linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea for Friday Favorites!!!
This has been a heck of a week! We had family in this past weekend, so I didn't have time to blog our weekend wrap up until Wednesday! So, I'm feeling a little behind in the blog game this week!
Let's get to it, shall wee?
On Monday, the fire department came to Adalyn's preschool to teach them all about fire trucks and fire safety. Adalyn was the only one in her class that wanted to speak to the fireman and ask him questions. I mean, we love firemen. My grandpa was a fireman, my uncle was a fireman, and my brother is a fireman. It's totally in our blood to be comfortable around firemen.
I was able to add these pictures to my Facebook, and it turns out that a good friend of ours (who is also a fireman) knew the particular fellow, that Addy is chatting up, so he tagged him in the picture, and I was able to thank them for taking the time to come out! Adalyn obviously loved getting a chance to talk to him!
Awe, look how cute she is!
So, as most of you know, I'm a speech-language pathologist in the public schools. There are days when I am all up in a child's mouth trying to elicit correct placement of a particular sound. It's on these days, that I'm so thankful for my favorite Young Living product..... Their Thieves line. I use their Thieves spray to purify the air, Thieves in my desk diffuser, and Thieves hand sanitizer. A little boost to my immune system is a favorite of mine.
Megan came home with a pattern project this week. We were actually suppose to take it home and let her choose something like pom poms, cereal, stickers- anything crafty, so she could make a pattern on her ghost. We typically get all of our homework finished before we leave school for the day. There is no way that I have time for any of this stuff at home. So, we used what I had on hand.... construction paper.... and she made an ABC pattern on her ghost.
Oh, and Rose Ointment, you're my favorite because you make my lips so soft! Seriously, this stuff is the best. Dry skin, lips, moisturizer, on my heels- only Rose ointment will do.
Wednesday night, I took the little girls to Panera for dinner while Gretchen was in her musical theatre class. It was freezing cold outside, and I just wanted some warm soup! The girls were being silly, and since Megan was acting like this, Addy was on the other side of the table acting like this:
Being silly like her big sister is her favorite.
And then Megan decided to cooperated and take a nice picture.
And Adalyn tried too.
I love how my little girls look up to and love their big sisters. Such a special bond these girls will have.
Thursday morning, probably wasn't our most favorite part of the week! Gretchen had to have a minor outpatient surgery for a little bump that had grown on her arm. She had surgery in February, so we were pros at what to expect. Here she is ready and waiting. At this point, she was all smiles.
While she was in the OR, I was in the waiting room reading a parenting book on raising a princess. I love that this book has a biblical foundation.
Gretchen's surgery lasted about 20 minutes. Waking up from the anesthesia is always the most difficult part. She is emotional and confused, and my heart hurt for her. But, her doctor made it better, by dressing up her bear!
He even gave the bear a bandaid and drew on it!
Gretchen's incision was small, and she had a bandaid covering it too. He wrote on her bandaid with "Way To Go", "You did Awesome", and drew little smiley faces! Seriously, we have the best doctor!! He is a pediatric plastic surgeon, and I wish we could just see him all of the time, because his bedside manner is fabulous!
And, her bear had a little bandage, just like Gretchen did!
This doctor did Gretchen's surgery in February as well, and he gave her American Girl doll a hospital cap, and bandage as well.
So, that's it for today!!! This morning, the girls have their walk-a-thon at school, and then I'm off to Houston with DJ and the football team for our game this weekend! My mom is coming up to stay with the girls, and I know they're going to have the best time!
Oh I'm going to have to check out that book! Happy weekend!
