Weekend Wrap Up: Zoo Edition

You guys, it's October!!!!!

October is quickly becoming one of my most favorite months of the year! It's packed with everything fall, Halloween, football, pumpkin patch trips, family visiting, fall break...... we have a lot to look forward to!
Friday at recess, Meggie was a bit whiney, and asked if she could eat lunch in my office. I was more than happy to let her! Plus, I could get some work finished and didn't have to sit in the cafeteria with her.
She celebrated the end of September by wearing her Halloween dress to school.
And then I sent her back to class and went to lunch myself!
Since Friday was the end of the month, I came home and put my hair up and went to work on some last minute Young Living goodies! It's so fun cheering on fellow oilers with their end of the month goals!

DJ was also home! He picked Adalyn up from preschool, so the big girls and I were able to head right home. We ordered pizza and waited on his uncle to arrive.
And I saw this on Facebook and about died! This is how I am every single week!
Saturday morning called for a nice cup of cappuccino. I am not a coffee drinker, but my mom introduced me to this cappuccino, and it's so yummy. I needed a cup to help me wake up! Especially since one child requested cinnamon rolls and the other requested pancakes for breakfast.

And then we had a family fun day at the zoo!
I had planned on a zoo trip last weekend, but Addy had a fever virus. But, it worked out since DJ was home and he could go with us! It's very unusual for us to have a Saturday home together during the season.

We saw real elephants, climbed around on fake ones, and then went to see the chimpanzees.
We let the girls ride the carousel.

And then we rode the train to the back of the zoo.

We saw the seals, and talked to this little penguin.
And found Adalyn's spirit animal- the flamingos.
After checking out the giraffe's and rhino's, we made our way over to the petting zoo.
And we fell in love.
Like, I seriously wanted to sell our house and move to a farm.
Saturday evening, DJ grilled steaks and I made a big salad. I came down with a sinus infection and thought I had pink eye, so I went to bed fairly early.

Since I thought I had pink eye, I cancelled my day volunteering in the nursery at church. Thankfully, I woke up and my eye was clear and my sinus infection was gone. But we decided to stay home anyway.

I spent the day doing laundry, cleaning the downstairs, and even broke out my embroidery machine to make the girls their football shirts.

And, I found this on facebook, and had to share!
It made me laugh, because this is so true for us! I realized once I had two children I would always be late! If you want me anywhere on time, then you'll want to tell me to be there at least 30 minutes before the event actually starts!!!

And that's it for our weekend!

Join me back tomorrow when I'm sharing our fall decorations!
