Megan's 9!!!

On Sunday, Megan turned 9!!! Let me be real for a minute. We were NOT excited to have her birthday while we're all in some sort of weird lock down mode. A few weeks ago, we started asking her what she wanted for her birthday. She talked about wanting an American Girl gift box or wanting a desk. Then, she decided on the desk, but I couldn't get it ordered from Ikea. I was hoping, our store would do in store pick up, but I couldn't get through to them at all. I finally had to tell her that she couldn't get a desk. Then she decided she wanted that American Girl doll after all. Well, it's pretty hard to order a present two days before a birthday. Sigh. Friday was a rough day with lots of tears. Then, I had an idea..... I checked online, and the American Girl stores in Texas have opened again!!! So, we planned a little road trip!
On Saturday, she had her last day as an 8 year old.
And can we just take a moment and appreciate that 9 years later, she's still obsessed with overalls.
Since we knew she wasn't having a party, I wanted to go ahead and make things special for her. This is something I planned in advance ;) Amazon came through with all of the Star Wars birthday supplies- she loves Star Wars.
She had no idea, she was getting any sort of decorations, so this was a fun little surprise.

And, even though she didn't get her doll or desk, she did have a few presents to open.
She had told me she wanted either a cookie cake or chocolate chip banana bread for her birthday, so Wednesday, I went ahead and ordered her a cookie cake, and you know what- on Friday, she kept telling me she wanted a mermaid tail on her cookie cake. Sigh. Thankfully, she loved the Star Wars once she saw it all together. And, it was a little lesson in changing your mind a few dozen times.
She was so excited to open presents!

She received a Cloudee and we had no idea that you actually had to use water to get it out of the box!
Earlier in the week, I had reached out to one of her friend's parents asking if they would allow their daughter to spend the night. I didn't say anything to Megan just in case, but thankfully, they were okay with her coming over. Megan was so excited!

She requested steak, mac and cheese, and broccoli for her birthday dinner, but since she was having a friend over, we told her she could have her birthday dinner on Monday, and she asked if we could make pizza's for her sleepover.
While the pizza was cooking, these girls decorated themselves with stickers.

We cut in to the cookie cake, but have zero pictures! Only a little video of her running away as soon as the sparkler candle was lit!
Then, it was bedtime, and her last picture as an 8 year old.
Friends make birthdays better.
And one little picture of us as I was tucking her in.

Sunday morning, she requested french toast for breakfast, and then she and I went on a little road trip to Dallas!
Since I couldn't get her a doll ordered in time, we just figured we would drive the 3 hours to Dallas and buy one ourselves!
The store had just re-opened in the past week, and it was not crowded at all. Megan practically had the store to herself, and she explored every inch.

Joss, is the 2020 girl of the year, and is part-surfer and part-cheerleader.
After looking at all of the dolls, she opted for Blaire. Which was exactly who she had come in for.
Blaire and Lucianna- both girls of  the year that we have.
She played with this little stroller and talked so much about how Adalyn would love it and want it. Most of the time, she was talking about how her sister would want something or like something.
At 3:30, we had a hair appointment. She brought one of our Truly Me dolls with her so we could fix her hair. This was her hair before.....
She was the only girl getting hair done, so she stood and watched.
They have little mirrors above, so you can see exactly what the hair stylist is doing.

And, her hair afterwards in a little waterfall braid.

I loved having this day with her. Megan's love language is quality time, and I have to admit, as the middle child, she doesn't get this time as often as her sisters do.
She was one happy birthday girl at the end of our trip!
On our way home, we stopped at Chuy's to eat, which was our first time eating inside a restaurant since March.

In some ways, Megan is growing up, but she's also that little girl who loves art, and gymnastics, and baby dolls. She plays equally well with Gretchen and Adalyn. We love this girl so much.

Happy Birthday Megan.

May Wellness Box

It's another wellness box wrap up today!!!  Each month, I order products we use through Young Living rather than going to Target. Each month, I choose what I want to buy and how much I want to spend, and each month, I earn a percentage back in points to redeem for more product, and I don't pay a dime for those.
These are all my goodies!

Let's break it down:
All of these oils were free from Young Living. You earn free products, based on the amount of money you spend. If you spend $100.00, you earn 1 free oil, $190.00 you earn 2 free oils, at 250, and 300, you earn even more. This month, Lavender, Longevity, Frankincense, Endoflex, and Deep Relief were all free.

We use Lavender for sleep and skin. Longevity has the highest antioxidant and DNA protecting essential oils. It promotes longevity and prevents premature aging- holla!!!! Frankincense is one of my favorite skin oils. I use it each night on my face, and I've been using it on a scar on my arm to help it heal. DJ loves Deep Relief on his calves after he runs, and I've been using it after my workouts. Finally, Endoflex is a temper tamer for kids, but it's also great to support your thyroid and endocrine system. It's another one, I use every day!
I ordered more shampoo for myself and the girls.
I also ordered Savvy Minerals primer, which helps your makeup hold, especially in this Texas heat!

This month, I'm giving away Rose essential oil rollers to members of my team with qualifying orders!

It takes 22 lbs of Rose petals to make one bottle of this essential oil! Rose has one of the highest frequencies of essential oils, and has been used for the skin for thousands of years. There are also amazing healing properties that I'd suggest you research ;)
Each month, we order Ningxia Red, which is an antioxidant drink from Young Living. It contains wolfberries and essential oils and it's so, so good for us!
And, Zyng! We order 12 of these each month! Zyng is a little energy drink with no harmful ingredients. It contains naturally recurring caffeeine, essential oils, sparkling water and is so good! DJ will drink it straight from the can, but I love mine with Ningxia Red.
We only have a few days left of May, but Young Living is giving every new member a Lushious Lemon hand soap! This soap was just released in April and it smells so good! It's definitely a new favorite in our house, and we have it by all the sinks.

You can click here to order a starter kit for as little as $125.00 and if you click to use it as your first Essential Rewards (monthly order) then you'll receive a free Longevity essential oil too! And psst, I'll send you a welcome gift and $25.00 cash back!

Arkansas Part 2

After spending Mother's Day with my parents, we drove to see DJ's family in northern Arkansas. Once we arrived at his mom's house, the girls finished school work, we ate lunch, and then we headed to his sisters house.
Gretchen was pumped when her cousin wanted to play Monopoly! They played outside, rode bikes, threw the baseball, and jumped on the trampoline.
Just us ladies chillin ;)
After dinner, it was slushie cups for everyone!
Tuesday morning, we got up and drove to DJ's dad's house. The girls had to finish their school work in the afternoon and they were not happy about it all!
After dinner, they were much happier when they got ice cream!
Megan read to her grandparents dog, Precious.
We stayed up late playing the family card game, "Oh Hell" and Wednesday morning, after DJ had some work calls, we packed up to head back to my parent's house. We were thrilled when we found a Tropical Smoothie on the way! It was one of our favorites in Tulsa, and I literally just found out we had one in Austin, but it's clear on the opposite side of town.
Once we arrived on Wednesday, we unloaded, and left the girls with my parents so we could go visit a friend from college. Then Thursday morning, we headed home!

It was a much needed week away!
