This past weekend was crazy busy and so much fun! When we found out that Tulsa was playing in Dallas at SMU over Halloween weekend, I thought it would be a great trip for the girls and I. We don't get to go to a lot of away football games, but this one was close enough for us to drive, and DJ's uncle lives right outside of Dallas, so we were able to visit him for the weekend!
We left school around noon and I picked up the girls from school. After we got gas, started the DVD player, and took a potty break, we finally made it out of town. It was rainy and with all of our in and outs in that first hour, I was a mess, but the girls were settled in and we were finally on our way.
I texted DJ that Megan was talking and talking and talking in the car. Like, she talked non stop for about 30 minutes. By this time, Adalyn was asleep and Megan just would not stop. Finally, I looked back and she was passed out. Amen. This girl can be like the energizer bunny sometimes, but when she crashes, she crashes hard. The same time that Megan, fell asleep, Addy woke up, but thankfully, Adalyn went right back to sleep, and we were able to drive about 3 hours before we had to stop.
We made it to DJ's uncle's house, had dinner, and tried to call it a night, but Megan and Adalyn, who had both slept in the car, were not ready for bed. They both finally fell asleep around 10.
And, then they were up bright and early Saturday morning.
I broke out the ipads and tried to rest a little longer before getting in the shower.
After some ipad time, we got dressed and ready for our fun-filled Halloween day!

DJ's uncle has season tickets to the Rough Riders, a minor league baseball team in Frisco. They were having a pancake breakfast for their season ticket holders, so we headed there for brunch.
The girls loved getting to sit and look out on to the field. Adalyn kept insisting that it was football and asking where her daddy was.
There's obviously only one sport in our house.
Deuce, the Riders mascot came over, and Gretchen was excited to see him and have her picture made with him.
Megan wasn't so sure, so I had to pet Deuce to let her know that he was nice and friendly!
After that, she totally warm up to him, and started calling him Goose!
She finally told me that she wanted her picture made with Goose
We headed over to find "Goose" and this is as close as she would get to him! Thankfully, he made it work, and she was pretty proud of herself!

Once breakfast was over, we headed out toward the field, so DJ's uncle could change his seats for his season tickets.
I love these little girls.
Addy ran off, and I tried to get a cute picture of the girls, but they weren't wanting to stand near each other. This was the best I got.
Adalyn just wanted to run around!
Her little flower hat was way too big! I think it was suppose to have a string that kept the petal back and I may have accidentally torn it off while taking her costume out of it's package.
That's better.
Once he found new seats, we went over to have the girls' faces painted.
Megan chose a seashell which was perfect for her Little Mermaid costume.
She was so proud of it!
We decided Adalyn needed a bee since she was a flower. The painter sure had her work cut out for her!
Adalyn would not sit still after a few minutes, so I had to help hold her still. Look at her giving the side eye!
When all was said and done she had a bee with no smile and an extra antennae.
Gretchen requested an Egyptian princess crown. They didn't have an image, so she and her uncle looked one up on his phone, showed the picture they found, and the painter sort of got it! The picture online had a little more detail, but this was close enough and Miss Gretchen was happy with it!
After face painting, we went over to see the chicken.
Megan thought it was funny there was a chicken, and she was willing to get her picture made with him.
She stood much closer when her sister was with her!
By this time, it started to rain again, so we got back in the car and went back to DJ's uncle's house to get ready for our football game.
The girls requested a picture with his hockey stand before leaving for the game.
And the big girls took a selfie with their great uncle.
Around 1, we headed to Dallas for the Tulsa vs. SMU game. We found our parking and headed toward the stadium to pick up our tickets, grab some food, and find our seats.
These girls found SMU fans that their uncle had and were waving them around, but I made sure the SMU logos weren't showing!
And, this is pretty typical of us at a game! One kid stealing a drink, one in my lap, and the other playing. The girls had a blast running up and down the stairs, running away, and having me chase them all over the stands.
If you have to take three kids to a football game without having help, then I will highly suggest that you just stay at home! We are use to being a suite and the girls have full reign of the back of the room to play with their toys, but in a stadium, they see the chance to run wild and free!
So, I do my best to keep them contained, but if you ever see us at a game, please don't judge because it is hard to corral these crazy girls!

My crazies and I at halftime. I had to put Adalyn in the ergo to keep her from running off, and I was holding on to the other two any chance I could. I love that they're growing up around sports and football. We get to experience college football unlike most families, and it's pretty fantastic!

After our WIN against SMU, we headed down to the locker room and waited for DJ to come down from the press box. The girls were super excited to see their daddy, and after some quick hugs and kisses, he headed in to work and we headed out to the car to change back in to costumes so we could trick or treat.
Around 7:30, we were ready and trick-or-treating in Highland Park, right across from SMUs campus.
Many of the people that live here go all out for Halloween. The girls loved seeing their yards decorated, lights on, and all of the people.
One house in particular had a huge long line. There was a corn field with a scare crow, a jail cell with zombie inmates, a zombie police officer, and a scary man with a chainsaw. It turns out the girls in the jail cell were SMU cheerleaders and studying acting. Needless to say, my girls were terrified! Gretchen tried to be really brave, but ended up in tears.
But, this house wins hands down for best trick or treating experience I've ever had!
And, our last house of the night.
We ended up going around two blocks in Highland Park. By 8:30 the girls were tired, it was muddy, and half of their buckets were filled so we decided it was time to call it a night.
Sunday morning, we tested out the aria diffuser from Young Living that DJ's uncle has. It was pretty fabulous! If you want to get your hands on one, shoot me an email. The aria has a timer, operates with a remote control, plays soothing music, and I love how you can see the bubbles on the inside. Megan was pretty mesmerized.
And you know, Monkey See Monkey Do. When I took Megan's picture, Adalyn had to pose the same way.
Around 11, we decided that it was time to head home. Adalyn was exhausted, and needed a nap, so it was perfect timing. I had wanted to stop at In and Out for lunch, or somewhere in McKinney, but Adalyn fell asleep so fast, I didn't have the heart to get us back out of the car. Plus, it started raining again. By the end of our trip, I was SO over the rain.
We made it home around 4, and I was grateful for the extra hour thanks to Daylight Savings time! We skipped our Sunday night dinner at football and ordered a pizza while I started our laundry. After baths, it was time for a Sleepy cream rub down and our Immune Booster roller to be added to our feet.
I felt the girls picked up a few too many germs while we were away- think drinking after each other, eating popcorn off the ground (that may have happened), and licking walls at the stadium. I told you- don't judge. Kids will be kids and they think they're pretty hilarious. I just think they're gross. I am SO thankful that we've started using essential oils to help us get healthier!
And with that, our weekend was over, and it was back to life. Back to reality.
