#Weltegram2014 and Weekly Catch-Up

This year, I've decided to document our lives in a fun, new way for us! I was inspired by Shay to take pictures of our daily life, and share them via Instagram!, Using the #weltegram2014, or by following my account (@ewelte), you'll be getting a daily picture of the Welte's!
This is our 1st picture of 2014. Meggie and I together, after staying up past midnight to celebrate the New Year!

Day 2: I love seeing these two sisters cuddle together!

Meggie stayed up entirely too late that night! She kept sneaking out of bed, and cuddling with us. Later that night, we had a huge meltdown with her, when DJ and I were both exhausted battling her "stalling methods" and after she woke up Adalyn. It was sweet at first, then, it just became a battle of wills.

Gretchen woke up wanting to cook us breakfast since she was a little 'naughty' the day before. Sweet girl made us cinnamon rolls (with daddy's help!)

Day 3: Adalyn had her 6 month doctor's appointment.
Day 4: I snuggled with the girl all day long!

DJ took the big girls to the mall and to Chick Fil A.
Gretchen wore her princess crown all day!
Day 5: These girls were praying for a snow day on Monday!
Later that night, after our snow day was announced, we watched two of our former teams compete in the GoDaddy.com bowl!

DJ was thrilled that stAte pulled out a victory!
Day 6: Our snow day was full of dress up, muffin baking, and fort making!
Day 7: Book reading and snuggles before bedtime with my three little honey pie's!
I'm also doing a January photo a day challenge with Erica and Andrea, and Wednesday's theme was "happy". This big girl makes me happy! Every school day I get to take her to the bus stop and we have time to talk and chit chat, which I know must be so important to her growing up into a Christ-loving little lady!

A Few Random Pics From Our Weekend

Last Thursday TU had a home game against Marshall. I decided that the girls and I would stay home and watch the game on t.v. They needed baths, i'm not getting home until 5 with my new work schedule, it was cold, and staying home was much cheaper than hiring a baby sitter!
We had a super quick dinner, baths, and then jammies because kick off was at 6:30. I wanted to make sure we were finished with everything so we could settle in and watch the game for an hour before the girls had to go to bed.

The big girls had so much fun watching the game with me!
Addy woke up from her nap around 7:30, and she hung out with me until she went back to bed around 9.
She loves her Sophie!
Megan looked like such a little thug on the way home Friday. DJ dressed her in this little fur fluff hoodie, and then she had an accident at school, and since she didn't have pants, all they could find was the 4T pair of purple pants. She was saggin!

I took Gretchen and Addy to a birthday party on Saturday afternoon, and DJ was off and he kept Megan. Once we got home, they played outside and Addy and I went to sew.
Look at how big she looks in her bouncy seat!!!!
Then she got a little fussy, so while the shirt was finishing up we took selfies.

We put Gretchen to bed in our room so I could stay up late working on orders, and then we found Megan asleep in the hallway.
Sunday morning we got up and went to church.

After church the girls and I ran into Old Navy and then I drove through Sonic to get them lunch.
This is bliss. My car has never been so quiet.
Megan refused her Sunday afternoon nap so she was being silly with me in the playroom while G played outside with friends and Addy slept.

I may or may not have also had a huge fight with my embroidery machine as well. It won in case you were wondering.

Y'all have a great day!

TU vs. E. Carolina~ Wives Trip

This past weekend was our annual TU wives trip. I look forward to this trip every year and the getaway that DJ and I get to have, as well as getting away with the other wives.

We boarded the plane Friday afternoon around 2 and made it to Greenville, NC. around 5:00 their time. Once we arrived at the hotel, I had just enough time to pump and freshen up for dinner. (I know that may have been too much information.)

You'll see the outfit I wore for dinner on tomorrow's "What I Wore Wednesday" post, but other than that, I have no pictures from Friday. Sometimes, there's a time and a place for selfies and food pictures, but somehow when you're sitting at dinner with fellow coaches wives, and with distinguished alumni, it just doesn't seem like the right time or place- ya know?

Anyway, we went to this Italian restaurant, and I had an amazing pasta dish and a flourless chocolate cake for dessert. I also had a glass of moscato.

After dinner, DJ and I finished watching White House Down. We weren't able to watch the last 45 minutes on the plane. If you haven't seen WHD, I suggest that you rent it. Also rent Olympus Has Fallen and compare the two. I personally think WHD was funnier, but corny at the end, and both movies had me on the edge of my seat. Plus, the eye candy wasn't bad in either movie.

I was able to sleep until 8:30 Saturday morning, which was only 7:30 Tulsa time. I guess my internal clock kicked in and wouldn't let me sleep much later.

I got up and went downstairs for breakfast and then went back up to the room to relax for a while. I was preparred with my trashy magazines, TLC shows on, and my alarm clock set just in case I fell back asleep.

I started getting ready for the game around 12, and at 1:00 I realized that we had to leave at 1:30 and I hadn't even put on make up or dried my hair. I may or may not have taken a little longer shower than usual, and I had to pump again before I got dressed. I just lost track of time a little.

So, I rushed to get ready in 30 minutes, threw my hair in a pony tail, and threw all of my clothes and belongings in the suitcase with no rhyme or reason whatsoever.
DJ had an extra media pass, so he gave it to me, so I could watch him work on the field during the 1st quarter of the game.

After the end of the 1st quarter, we went up to the media box, and this was my view for the rest of the game. It was a pretty good view, and I managed to stay warm and get a yummy dinner!
However, there was one newspaper reporter that I wanted to spill my drink on.

At half time, we went upstairs to the film deck, and on the way passed the room where the Fox Sports Network film crew and announcers were working. Look at them squeezed into that tiny space!
We ended up loosing the game, and TU won't be bowl elgibile this year. Three more weeks of football and for the first time ever, I'm so relieved that the season is nearing an end.

I am however, so grateful for the weekend away and time with DJ without our girls! Let's face it, we all need the away time!

Last Week & Weekend Wrap Up

I'm skipping out on this weeks' Trendy Tot Tuesday to bring you an update of what went down in our house last week. Because, I know, you're all intrigued.
Meggie has been getting up super early over the last several days. Maybe because she can now open door knobs. This is not a milestone you want your toddler to achieve. So long, are the days of us sleeping in because she'll quietly play in her room or kick the door with her feet until we open it, but we're good at blocking out the noise. Nope, hello to the 6 am mornings of our toddler waking not only DJ and I, but her big sister, so she'll have someone to play with.

Anyway, now that she wakes up early, we put her to work feeding the dog. Maybe if we start making her do chores early, she won't complain as much as her big sister does.
I know I posted this picture, last week, but it's too cute to not share again! Here's Addy and Meggie in their matching caramel apple shirts from last Wednesday.
And, just a random shot while we were picking G up from school. I'll do anything to keep her from screaming in the car, including taking selfies.

Thursday was Halloween.

On Friday, Gretchen had "career day" at school, and Meggie had pajama day.
Naturally, Gretchen wants to be a professional princess.

I managed to snag "The Croods" from the Redbox Friday afternoon with my free code they sent me via email!
I was the coolest mom ever that night!

Friday night I made this dish and I just have to share b/c it was good y'all!

I sauted garlic with sausage and bell pepper. Then, I tossed it with bow tie pasta, fresh spinach, and parmesan cheese. I also think it would have been great with tomatoes!
Saturday was game day and I was so excited to wear my new TU bling shirt that I bought from Zulily!

I honestly did not think it would arrive before the season ended (sometimes their shipping is slow) but it did and I was so excited!!!
Ms. Addy Pearl wasn't too upset that we lost. Another one.

Sunday morning, I had brunch at Southern Hills with the football wives and some very generous ladies. I didn't really think it would be okay to snap pictures of their amazing wine room, buffet, or my plate of food and then try to explain that I blog, so I didn't.

But, I did wear my Loft dress with red flats and red jewelry and I devoured an omelet, hash browns, and fresh fruit, and I maybe sampled about four desserts as well!

After brunch, the girls and I headed to our neighbors for their daughter's 6th birthday. I love our little neighborhood and that there are several children close in age!
The theme was an Alice in Wonderland tea party, and all of the girls had hats to wear.
It was just precious! They served little finger sandwiches, fruit, and cheese. Had the most amazing cupcakes and a chocolate fountain!

The girls had so much fun!

And, before I forget, today is the last day to enter the giveaway at Poppy Petals & Lotus Leaves and you should head over to A Blonde Ambition and check out her post from last Friday!

Busy, Busy

We have been so busy lately! I love this time of year, but there's always so much going on!
Gretchen was exhausted when she came home from school Wednesday. I went to the bathroom and came out and found her asleep on the living room floor. She never falls asleep unless she's sick and thank goodness she was not sick, just worn out!
Which left Meggie and I to enjoy dinner together.

We ended up skipping choir since Gretchen fell asleep, and i'm not going to lie, I was relieved to have the evening home. I managed to get a little embroidery work finished while G was napping, and MC hung out with me and fixed my hair.

DJ came home a little early Wednesday night and the girls had fun playing with him! He always gets home right as the girls are going to bed, and sometimes afterwards, so it's nice when they have a few minutes to play together.
On Thursday, I took Addy to daycare in the morning, and I volunteered at Gretchen's school. I put together their folders with information needing to go home and I cut out pieces for 22 owls. I have a new respect for kindergarten teachers cutting out that many owl pieces just for a puppet that will most likely get thrown in the trash or torn up.

I think i'll be sure to keep Gretchen's since I helped make it!

After cutting everything out and stuffing all of the folders, I was able to sneak in and sit with Gretchen while she ate her lunch.
The girls and I had fun playing Thursday night.... because I was procrastinating unloading my dishwasher. Again.

When I got home Friday, I found my brand new embroidery machine waiting on my doorstep!!!!

Friday night the girls played outside with their little neighbor friends while the adults sat and shared wine and gossip. It was a perfect evening. The girls didn't get into bed until 9.

Saturday morning I did a little bit of laundry and picking up the house and some applique' projects, followed by lunch time with the girls. We had peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, and Megan decided her sandwich made a better mask.

She just thought she was hilarious!

I'm glad it was bath night!

Our neighbors came over and brought me cheesecake. I really wish they'd stop sharing their desserts with me! They stayed and watched the first half of the TU vs. UTEP game and Mrs. Carmen french braided the girls hair.

After baths, I had G pick out her pajamas and she came back down in her TU Liberty Bowl shirt that she sleeps in! I was proud of her for picking out a football shirt so we could watch the game and cheer on the Hurricane to their 2nd W of the season!
