Life Lately has been crazy busy! I don't like to glorify busy; in fact, I would rather not be busy. But, we are just in a busy season. We'll have about two slower weeks in May, and then it just gets busy again until after Memorial Day weekend.
Here's a look at Life Lately
I've been reading
Love Your Life. Megan bought me this book for Christmas, and I wasn't 100% sure if I'd like it, and I just waited to read it. I'm about halfway through and although the first few chapters are slowly, I'm finally getting in to a groove and I'm enjoying it now. I'm hoping to have it finished before this weekend- DJ and I are leaving for Florida- and I have a few other books I'd love to take with me. I set a goal at the beginning of the year to read 20 books this year, and I'm only 3 or 4 in so I have a lot of catching up to do!
Last Tuesday, DJ and I had a little date night to the opening of the Moody Center on UT's campus. They had a soft opening for UT staff and Dell staff, and Earth Wind & Fire put on a little concert.
Gasp- their music wasn't my favorite. I knew about 3 songs.
This marquis has me rolling.
Wednesday night was soccer practice. Adalyn asked if I would take her, so I left DJ at home to take care of dinner, while I watched her run around the soccer field.
I was off Friday, and ended up having a busy day! I ran some errands Friday morning, and made it home in time for my 1:00
Instagram live class (you should join us this week as I chat about sick kiddos and how we keep them healthy.) And, then I started taking down the Easter decorations and putting up fun Spring decorations.
Did you know I have a home decorating account on Instagram? I wanted to make it separate from my personal account, and document all the decorating, because it's one of my favorite hobby's, so I started that page
here.
Friday night was another date night?! What? Two in one week- what even is this?!
DJ and I went to a local brewery and shared a giant pretzel appetizer.
The Ross and Rachel might also be my new favorite drink.
Afterwards, we swung by football just in case DJ was needed for an event they were hosting.
And then we made our way downtown and enjoyed some amazing views and even better friends.
Saturday was an early morning. I was up at 7 to take one kiddo to gymnastics, and then met DJ and Adalyn at the soccer fields for her game.
This girl has loved playing soccer this year. We had to talk her in to it, but now we can't talk her out of it!
Since DJ and I will be on a plane this weekend, we won't be able to attend her last soccer game. I am super bummed about it, but gosh, we loved watching her this weekend. And my mom, aunt, and her sisters will be there to cheer her on.
Two proud parents and our soccer star.
While we were at soccer, Gretchen was having the time of her life at a friend's glamping birthday party on the river!
Saturday night, I took the little girls to UT's Spring game. The Spring game always marks the end of spring practice, and back to a "normal" schedule for us. I'm so thankful DJ doesn't have recruiting and have to go on the road. It's a total blessing and I don't know how the coaches wives do it other than they're just amazing. The girls played lots of carnival games on Smokey's Midway and enjoyed Bevo Blvd.
And then it was in to the office to cool off and hang out before the game began.
Love these two.
Adalyn knows how to enjoy herself some football. She was living her best life in the stands complete with a CFA chocolate chip cookie.
And this girl was doing whatever gymnastic tricks she could.
He came to say hi for like 5 minutes.
We greeted DJ on the field just like we always do after every game.
And then we saw Hook 'Em.
and Bevo.
Sunday we opted to stay home from church and rest and recover. We haven't had a day with nothing planned in months and we just needed it.
I'm counting down the days this week, and hoping they'll go by as fast as our last week did, because next week, we will be in Florida! Yes, please.
