Soccer Stars!

My honey pie's started soccer back in March, and I have been horrible at taking pictures of them at soccer this year! DJ and I both try to take the girls, or at least it started out that way, but then life started gettign busy again, and I would need to use soccer nights to go to the grocery store, or he would be out of town. I'm at least blaming some of that for my lack of pictures and videos this year.

I took the girls a few weeks ago when DJ was out of town and snapped a few pictures wtih my iphone.
Meggie before soccer class!

When they arrive, they get to run around and play and then they sit on a "dot" and their coach rolls them the ball and they say their name and she asks them a question. On this night, she asked what her favorite t.v. show is, and Meggie answered, "Bubble Guppies".
After they say their names, they get to practice running.

It's hilarious to watch the kids run and their parents chase after them. I'm pretty sure everyone got a big kick out of me chasing Megan around too! The first few weeks, she kept darting off the field, and DJ and I both were chasing her around! We finally figured out that she just thought it was funny to run and get chased!

The kids also play a little version of red light, green light, and those little boys do not know what STOP means! I'm glad i'm a girl mom!

There are times when I think Meggie will be a rock star soccer player.

And other times, I know she has my athletic ability.
They had to kick the ball throw the cones.

Their coach is so creative, and she'll call the soccer balls, bubble gum, and the cones are trees, and there are bears, and monsters hiding behind a wall, and it's just crazy fun!
At the end, the kiddos do a little "go team".
Meggie was so proud of herself after practice!
Gretchen plays too! And, I know I've totally left her out on this post, but that's because I had to chase Meggie around all night! The next time that DJ and I can take the girls together, i'll get pictures of Gretchen.

The girls take with their good friends, C and L, and after almost every class, they all get toys out of the quarter machines!
The mustaches are a big hit!

#weltegram2014 May 22-28

After today, I have ONE more day of school y'all! ONE MORE DAY!

I can totally do this!

Let's get on with it!
May 22- After the craziness last Wednesday night, I decided to take the afternoon off and go home to catch up on some sewing for my little biz. Then, I picked Gretchen up from the bus, took her to get ice cream, and then we went to Target before heading to get the little girls from daycare.

May 23- My mom, cousin, and niece came for the weekend, and the girls had SO MUCH FUN playing outside with each other! Hann and Gretchen did stunts in the backyard.
May 24- This girl TURNED 3!
May 25- We went to another birthday party. Can't you tell how excited Gretchen is! (I had to wake her because she fell asleep on the couch.)
May 26- Addy Pearl started walking with the stroller!

May 27- After a fiasco at daycare, DJ had to take Megan to work with him. But, at least they had a lunch date at McDonald's!
May 28- This girl was so happy! Usually she's pooped from the long day at daycare, but tonight she was crawling, pulling up on everything, and so happy! It was a rare treat!

Y'all enjoy your day!

Girl Mom- Throwing a Baby Doll Birthday!

I hope y'all have had the best Memorial Day weekend! Over the weekend, we celebrated Megan Claire's third birthday!

As a #girlmom, I love planning birthday parties and going all out! I start planning parties about a year out, gathering ideas, developing a theme, and figuring out all of the little details! To see how I planned this year's party, see last week's Girl Mom post!

Megan was originally suppose to have a mermaid birthday party at the pool, but when I saw Kelly's baby doll birthday party, I knew that it would be the best theme for Megan! Megan loves baby dolls and is such a little mommy!

Let's start with the details!
Megan wore a "Little Mommy" shirt by Cotton Laundry. Her shorts were from Adorable Essentials. My mom made Megan's party hat for her first birthday, and the girls wear their party hats every year. Under her hat, is her hair bow that I made.
We had most of the party indoors, so I wanted to decorate my mantle. I used a frame crochet bib, a baby picture of Megan, a "M", Megan's bitty baby, a baby plate, a stack of Fancy Nancy books, a pink jumbo flower, and two glass candlesticks with pink candles.

I made the raggy banner for Megan's first birthday, and it's been hanging in the girls' playroom, so I took it down and hung it up.
We set up baby doll beds and toys in the living room.
And I printed baby doll coloring sheets for the girls.
The girls were also able to color and decorate a baby doll t-shirt for their baby! I purchased American Girl doll size shirts and fabric markers, set out fabric markers, and let the girls color away. The girls also received rattles for their baby dolls, a flower bracelet for themselves, and a bracelet for their baby.

After making their t-shirts, the girls were able to fill out a birth certificate for their baby. I just googled for a printable birth certificate and found one!
I hung a few baby links from the chandelier!
And put Megan's silver baby cup and rattle on the side table along with crazy straws and paper flowers. The jars were wrapped in burlap and lace, and were a shower decoration for my sister in laws baby shower. They also served as Easter decorations on my kitchen table!
I put party favor boxes on our entry way table. I found these boxes and the felt flowers at target on clearance. I think they were .88 for three boxes, and the .88 for several stick on flowers.

I filled the boxes with the bracelets, pacifier candy, the rattle, and a chocolate dipped marshmallow.

After playing inside, we went outside for a picnic!
I used a small highchair as a cupcake stand. I filled a glass martini dish with pacifier sweet tarts (purchased at Hobby Lobby), pink cups, pink paper straws, and served pink lemonade.
We also had pink chocolate dipped marshmallows!

These are super easy to make! You can buy colored chocolate at Hobby Lobby. I melted it, dipped half a marshmallow in, added some sprinkles and voila! Easy peasy!
The adults had chicken salad with pita chips, and the kids had heart shaped turkey and cheese sandwiches, teddy grahams, and a fruit cup. I put the girls' lunch in a white paper bag and clipped it closed with a pink glitter clothespin.

I used a jar of small baby bottles and pacifiers, small bracelets, pink blocks, and another burlap mason jar on the table as decorations!

This is likely the cutest party I've thrown for Megan! She had a ball and everything was picture perfect! The decorations were easy because I was able to use a lot of what we already had. I bought some decorations at Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby, and that was it!

What's your favorite girly party theme? You know, I need to start planning for next year's birthday!

Adventures in Mommyhood

I mentioned yesterday, that I would be sharing the story of our adventures on Wednesday night! So hang around, because there's sure to be lots of laughs!
DJ has been out of town all week, and my to-do list was pretty long! I decided that the girls and I would run errands on Wednesday night in order to get everything accomplished.

I came home from work and picked up Gretchen, and then we went to pick up the little girls from daycare. Our first stop was the Dollar Tree in order to pick up baby shower decorations for Megan's baby doll birthday party on Saturday.

Poor Adalyn was so tired, because she's only taking one short nap per day at daycare. I forgot to bring the Ergo, so I put her in the sling. Megan wanted to ride in the "wagon" (buggy/shopping cart) and we made our way through the aisles picking out everything we needed for the party. We went to check out, and I must say, it is so difficult to empty a cart with only one arm. Gretchen kept putting her Barbie doll on the check out counter, saying that we bought it there, and I could only imagine the cashier charging us $1.00 for a Barbie doll that we already own. I kept asking her to stop, and she did not. I finally had to get on to her. I took Megan out of the buggy and she cried because she didn't want to get out, and we headed out to the car. I pulled in to a space with two empty spots beside me, and of course by the time we were finished shopping, both of those empty spots were filled and I had the hardest time getting the girls in. At one point, Gretchen even got a spanking, and to be honest, I'm not sure why.

All I remember is that I told both big girls that if they did not straighten up and start listening that we would not go to Chick Fil A and that we would go home instead.

Thankfully, this got their attention, and Gretchen kept making vows and promises in the back seat that she would be on her very best behavior!

We arrived at Chick Fil A, and I gave the girls very specific instructions that we would hold hands, stand in line, wait patiently, not wander off, etc. I have to brag on Chick Fil A, because they are always so helpful when I'm in there with the girls. Maybe they just feel sorry for me!

We made it to our seats, and I continued to hold Adalyn while getting the high chair, ketchup, silverware, dips, napkins, straws, and anything else we might need. I always strategically sit near the play area, so the girls can play. They know that they are not allowed to play until they finish eating. Our food was brought to us, and I'm so thankful I didn't have to try to balance it or leave the girls at the table. I gave the big girls their food, opened their dip, and sat down to nurse Adalyn. I was even able to eat my dinner while she nursed, which is amazing in just itself! I felt like I was totally winning!

After the big girls ate, they were allowed to play in the play area. I put Adalyn in her high chair and fed her the baby food (homemade) that I had brought with me. Y'all, I remembered to grab homemade baby food, bibs, plastic placemats, and a spoon! I almost always forget it, so again, I felt like I was winning!

Once Adalyn was finished eating, I asked the waiter for ice cream with sprinkles. We traded in their kids meals toys for the ice cream, and I knew that it would be the perfect way to get them out of the play area.

About the time the ice cream arrived, Gretchen runs out of the play area holding her bottom. She tells me that she has to go potty. Now. Poop is coming out.

I told her to RUN.

Out comes Megan who suddenly has to potty too. I convince her to wait until she's finished her ice cream. Win.

After two bites of her ice cream, she still has to go potty. She gets up and runs to the bathroom and I barely had time to grab my purse, the diaper bag, and there was no way I'd get Adalyn unbuckled in time. Thank goodness the high chairs have wheels at Chick Fil A, because I wheeled Adalyn all the way back to the bathroom.

About that time, Gretchen was coming out of the bathroom and I tell her she can go back to the table. (There were two police officers sitting near us.) I roll Adalyn into the bathroom, help Megan, and we head back to the table.

Megan drops her entire ice cream scoop on the table. I did what any self respecting mom would do. I picked it right back up and put it in her bowl. I just prayed that the table was clean.

Then Gretchen had the bright idea to lick the ice cream that she had dripped on the table, off the table. Yes, my 6 year old was licking the table. I could not believe that I had to say, "Gretchen, don't lick the table." A lady near me laughed. Megan thought it was a great idea and licked the table too. I cleaned up the mess with napkins.

I went to get Adalyn cheerios and then when it was time to go, I had the great idea that the big girls could help me put away our trash while I gathered our belongings. Megan carried some trash to the trash can and somewhere along the way dropped two spoons. I saw her pick up the spoons and PUT THEM IN HER MOUTH! I could not believe what I was seeing and another lady near me looked amused and disgusted at the same time. I looked at her and said, "Were they at least our spoons?" She said they were, and I responded with "Well, at least they were our spoons! I can handle that."

As we were leaving a mother (who had her husband and two children) told me that she had no idea how I handled the three girls by myself. I explained that my husband was out of town a lot and that this does NOT happen often!

We made it to the car, remember, the one Megan is afraid of, and I changed Adalyn's diaper. The family with the two kids came out and the mom laughed, "it takes you thirty minutes just to do anything." Why yes ma'am, it does. We are always late. Fashionably late as I like to refer to it.

The girls and I headed to Hobby Lobby for more birthday party supplies. By this time, I had to use the restroom, so I loaded the girls in the buggy, and wheeled it to the back of the store. I asked the girls if they needed to potty, and Gretchen said, "I don't need to go. I have toilet paper in my panties because there was poop in there and I don't want to take it out."

Take that in for a minute.

I inform her that we need to clean her bottom the right way, and sure enough she had poop in her panties. Megan had to go potty. Gretchen was wearing a dress. There was no way that I could let her wear panties with poop in them, but at the same time I didn't have extra. I took Megan's panties off and put them on Gretchen. Megan had on shorts. No one would know.

Yes, I did. Take it in.

Parenting Fail.

Or was it smart?

You decide.

By this time, it was 7:30. Bedtime.

But, we still had to go to the grocery store. We made it through some of the store, got the girls a cookie, Gretchen misbehaved and got in trouble. She kept stepping in front of the buggy while I was pushing it. She was in my way. I was in a hurry. I was tired. They were tired.

We finally make it to the chip aisle, and all of a sudden Megan said, "Oh Damnit!" I was shocked. She got in trouble. She said it again. Gretchen said it. Megan said it. They were both laughing. I told the girls that the next person who said that word would get a spanking. Megan looked at me, said it again, and laughed.

By this point, I was in an exhausted, overwhelmed mommy mode.

We make it to the cashier. Did I mention it's difficult to unload groceries with one hand. It is.

Our popsicles were busted, so the stock boy had to go find them. He couldn't. I finally had to go back and get them. With the girls and all of my groceries.

We made it to the car about 8:30 and the girls were amazed it was dark outside.

Yes girls, it's bedtime. Past bedtime.

We make it home, and I decide to leave everything in the car, nurse Adalyn, get the girls in their pj's, and in the bed, and then I would carry in groceries.

We watched the last 20 minutes of the season finale of American Idol.

The girls went to bed.

I panicked thinking that I had lost the car keys.

And finally, around 10:30 I crashed. I didn't even take off my bra. Or my makeup. Megan had fallen asleep on the floor (are you surprised?) so I just put her in my bed.

I was never more ready to see the bed than I was that night.

And, I have no other way to wrap up this post than to say, Jeesh! I'm exhausted! Please tell me you have these crazy mommy moments too!

#weltegram2014 May 15-21

6 more days of school y'all! After next week, I swear all of our daily pictures will be us by the pool or at the lake. I cannot wait for the lazy days of summer!

Let's get to it, shall we?
May 15- I had training at work, and DJ had all of the girls. He texted me this picture of Meggie rollin up in the hood! She's wearing Gretchen's coat, pushing her buggy full of whatever she can throw in, and of course her baby doll!

I love how Adalyn is crawling over to see!

And that look on Meggie's face! I have no words!
May 16- I left for a girls trip!

I could not have been more excited!
May 17- Shopping in Branson with my BFF.

I guess this post is having a gangsta vibe!
May 18- Meggie is glad that mommy's home!

She had just gotten up from a nap and wouldn't let me put her down! I loved her sweet cuddles!
May 19- My soccer stars!
May 20-The day Meggie was scared of the car!

So, I have to tell the backstory because I want to remember this! My car has had a few problems since we bought it last year, and I had an appointment Tuesday morning to take it to the dealership to be fixed, and to pick up a loaner car. The dealership tried to give me a Malibu, and I looked at the young cashier and said, will a Malibu hold three kids? I was assured that it would, and as soon as they pulled the car up, I turned right around and said, I'm sorry, that will not hold three car seats. I have to have something bigger! I was told that there was only a truck.

We had an appointment and the dealership promises that they'll give you a comparable car. I'm sorry, but a Malibu is not comparable to an Acadia. At all. I had to call DJ, who then had to talk to the manager, and I was finally given a Tahoe that isn't even a loaner car….

Fast forward to Tuesday afternoon. I picked up the girls from school and realized that I only had a key to the car. No keyless entry. So, Megan, my shy timid child, is already freaked out because mommy has a new car. I have to unlock the door, and the horn starts to beep, Megan freaks out. Starts screaming, crying, running away from the car and saying, "that white car scare me!" I was laughing so hard at her, and finally told her to go stand on the sidewalk while I put Adalyn in her car seat. When I went to put Megan in the car, she again started screaming and crying, and I had to battle her to finally get her in the car!

We'll have this car until my car is fixed, and now every time I have to unlock the car, she cries! This morning, I left her in the house and told her I had to unlock the car, and that it would beep. She went and hid in her room.
May 21- I took the girls shopping for Meggie's baby doll birthday and then to Chick Fil A.

You will hear all about our evening on Friday's post. It will be hilarious. Jaw dropping, and I will either earn the award for worst mother of the year, most resourceful mother, or best mother of the year. Taking three kids out by yourself with a crap-load of errands to run is no joke y'all!

It's Wednesday, and time for another What I Wore! As summer is quickly approaching, my looks are getting more and more casual! Our principals gifted us extra jeans day, and I figured out that I only have to "get dressed" two more days! Every other day can be a jean day, and y'all know how I love me some jean days!
I had to show y'all my "Trophy Wife" baseball tee, that our head coaches wife gave us at the spring game! I love how soft and comfy this shirt is, and it's quicly becoming my go-to shirt for travel and comfort!

I wore this on Sunday when I was headed back from my girls weekend in Branson.

The shirt has a Proverbs 31 Bible verse on the back.
GAP shirt (I purchased this in March and it was on sale, so I don't think they have any more.)

I love that the pink camo is super subtle!

Skinny jeans.

TOMS ash wedges.
My next lokow as inspired from the photo above. I just love everything about the Pinterest picture!

Girl Mom~ Planning A Baby Doll Birthday

Megan's third birthday is this Saturday! So if you're a girl mom like me, that means lots of planning!

I plan for parties at least a year in advance! I kid you note, I almost always know the theme of the next year's party as soon as the party ends. As soon as Megan's party ended last year, I had determined that this year's theme would be "mermaid".  The plan was that we would go ahead and travel to my mom's house and have Megan's party at the pool, and all of our extended family would be able to come.

However, as spring grew near, plans changed. Relatives were heading out of town, our school year was extended to the week after Memorial day, and we decided to go ahead and host this year's party at our house.

In March, I was reading Kelly's Korner blog about her daughter's baby doll themed birthday. I instantly changed my mind about Megan's theme. Megan loves baby dolls and I knew that I needed to have a theme that she would really enjoyed!

So, I started doing what all of us girl mom's do in this age of technology and Pinterest. I started pinning idea after idea, and this Saturday, i'll have the most perfect baby doll themed birthday party for Megan!

I love the turquoise and pink color scheme in the photo above. I also love the use of wooden silverware, paper straws, and flower shaped paper plates.

I am loving the use of a baby doll as a table decorations, and wine glasses flipped over for a cupcake stand!

I'm definitely planning on having all of Megan's baby doll toys set out for an instant nursery feel! We've also asked our guests to bring their favorite baby doll for our baby doll picnic!

Kelly used these baby dolls on top of the cupcakes, and I love that she had a "paint your own diaper bag" as a party favor!

We are also having birth certificates, that we'll fill out at the party! You can find a Printable Baby Birth Certificate here! I can't wait to hear the names of baby doll's and how much they weighed, and when they were born!

I'll be sharing our baby doll birthday next Tuesday, so be sure to check back in!
