Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends!!! I'll be honest, I'm thankful for today! This week was brutal after being gone for Spring Break. Plus, it's Spring Football, and we're busy with after school activities. Today is my home day..... and by that I mean, home alone day. DJ's at work, the girls are at school, and I get to have peace and quiet and cross off all the things on my super long to do list.

It's gonna be a great day!
I'm linking up and sharing my Friday Favorites. If you're new here- welcome!!!

First up...... this girl and her splits practice.

Over Spring Break she had to practice her right, left, and center leg splits every day, and she had to hold them for at least 3 minutes a side. Well, she did 10 minutes.

She's not usually our overachiever, unless it comes to gymnastics; it's her favorite.

This diffuser blend was heavenly this week when I was trying to have some evening motivation. A few drops of Orange, Rosemary, and Grapefruit.

Heavenly.
Monday afternoon the weather was gorgeous! It's been in the high 70s this week, and this is exactly why I'm glad we're in Texas.... as my mom says, we traded in the super long winters back in Indiana for super long summers here in Texas... and since I'm a warm weather gal, I'll totally take it.

Anyway, the weather had me craving some outdoor time, and our flower bed needed major sprucing up. Our builders had planted a few things, and some they had planted had already died, so I went to the garden store, and picked up an azalea bush, aloe vera, and blue bonnets.

I mean, when in Texas.......

We also have plans to plant Lavender, Milkweed, and there's this large aloe vera looking plant that I want to add.

My essential rewards order came in, and this month, I decided to splurge and spoil myself with a few products.

I always order Zyng, and Ningxia Red, but this month, I ordered Wolfberry Eye Cream, Lavender Bath Gel, Patchouli, Lavender, and Lady Sclareol for myself. I also needed toothpaste :)

All of the other Thieves products, the microfiber towels, and the three oils in front were FREE!

Getting my monthly subscription box is my favorite time of the month!

And later that day, Megan was stealing a Ningxia from the fridge.

Have you heard of Tiff's Treats?

If you're in Texas, you need to check them out! They're a cookie delivery company, so you can send any type of cookie to your favorite person. But, you can also stop by their store and pick up a box of fresh, hot cookies at any time!

I treated the girls to cookies Tuesday afternoon.
After gymnastics and running around all over the place, this girl was exhausted! She fell asleep on the way home, and bless her heart; Spring is wearing her out!

Thankfully, Thursday afternoon, she was all smiles and bright eyes!
And look what came in the mail this week! These gorgeous rollers from The Bashful Company! You can find them on Etsy ;) I can't wait to make some custom blends in these!!

That's it for Friday Favorites!! I'll be busy checking off my to-do list today, but find me over on Instagram for some fun!

Spring Break Road Trip & Wedding Weekend!

Last week, we had a girls trip back to Arkansas.... we haven't been there since summer, and we were excited to get back!
As with any Texas road trip, we had to stop at The Czech Stop in West, Texas for kolaches.

We made it to my parents house before dinner, and then we practiced our broom balancing skills.
I hadn't heard this before, but I guess twice a year during the fall and spring equinox, you can balance brooms, and it totally worked!!
The girls had a sleepover, and Thursday morning, they made decorations for Amelia's birthday party.
We spent the morning doing some shopping, and then had lunch at Purple Cow.
All of the girls had a purple milkshake.

Yum!
We finished off our evening, celebrating Amelia's 8th birthday at Hogwild.... a little pizza & arcade place. Combined, the girls had over 1,000 tickets! Megan picked out a unicorn ball, and Adalyn picked out a gigantic purple ball!
Friday morning, we took the girls to Wye Mountain to see the Daffodil field.
We took the opportunity to take lots and lots of pictures.

We went on a day, where they were letting you pick daffodils, so the girls picked a ton! My mom ended up with a huge bouquet on her kitchen table.
That afternoon, the little girls went down to my brother's house to play, but Gretchen stayed behind and made a giant stick fort.
And then we walked down to the pond.
It was nice to have some quiet time with this girl.
Friday evening, we had the rehearsal for my niece's wedding. All of the girls were flower girls. We thought it would be fun if they wore the Navy hair bows that my niece bought for them when she joined the Navy.
The girls practiced until they were pros ;)
Saturday morning was wedding day and we were up bright and early!

Megan had gymnastic's "homework" for Spring Break, and each day had to practice her splits. She held her splits for 10 minutes! Ouch!
After split practice, we headed to the chapel to get the girls ready.
My mom found their flower girl dresses on Zulily, and they each had a crown of baby's breath.
I may be biased, but aren't these the three cutest flower girls ever.
Rather than tossing flowers down the aisle, the girls held yellow gerber daisy balls, and Gretchen had a little sign.

After the wedding, we had a ball at the reception! Adalyn took the biggest piece of red velvet cake ever, and all of the girls had fun on the dance floor!
My niece wore the veil that I wore on my wedding day, and Megan ended up wearing it through most of the reception! One day, my three girls will wear it on their wedding day.
Adalyn even caught the bouquet!
My brother, sister, and me.... I'm the baby of the family :) and i'm so grateful to have these two in my life.

After the wedding ended, we were wiped! We went back to my mom's house and had a lazy evening! Sunday morning we got up and drove back to Texas. Visits back home always go by entirely too fast; we were sad it came to an end so soon!

What's Up Wednesday

1. What We're Eating This Week.....

After being off my diet this past week, we're back on to eating healthy this week!
Monday- Chicken & Green Beans, Quinoa, and Oven Baked Potato Wedges
Tuesday- Chicken Cordon Blue & Veggies
Wednesday- Spaghetti
Thursday- Chicken & Veggies
Friday- something fun after having chicken & veggies twice!!

Psst- we eat a lot of chicken and veggies at dinner; it's just easy. I'll usually do a crusted chicken or lemon pepper..... I just try to change up the seasonings/flavor, and we all love it.

2. What I'm Reminiscing About...
Right now, I'm just looking forward :)

As a mom, there are times that I get sad that my girls are getting big, but I'm loving this stage right now, and I feel like we're in a good place. Of course, there are hard days, that make me miss the babies they once were, but right now, I'm looking forward to what's ahead and the fun adventures we'll have in April.

3. What I'm Loving....
This surprise sale from Young Living!!! Right now, you can order a Dessert Mist diffuser, and receive THREE oils free instead of two! And, one of those is a 15 mL of Purification. We love Purification on wool dryer balls or in the diffuser to cleanse the air. It's also great for summer time skin.

If you're a current member, you can log in and place your order, and if you're one of my personally enrolled, I'm giving away an Amazon gift card!!!

If you're not a member, you can grab a kit here, and add on a second diffuser, and the three additional oils, and get $25.00 right back from me!

4. What We've Been Up To....
I shared part 1 of our Spring Break yesterday......
and I'm sharing Part 2 tomorrow :)

5. What I'm Dreading.....
It's suppose to rain on Saturday......

I mean, I'm grasping at straws, but I'm not really dreading much right now.

Update- I checked the weather, and we're down to a 20% chance of rain..... so yeah, I'll keep grasping, because I'm not dreading much at the moment.

6. What I'm Working On....
all things Young Living..... last month, we launched a Thieves Home Cleaning challenge that wraps up this week, and it's been fun!!!!

I'm a super organized, neat freak, Type A personality, so it's been fun to help busy moms along on their journey to a clean house.

Our big take aways, were to reset your kitchen every night and make your bed every morning. It's amazing, what you'll accomplish with a clean kitchen and freshly made bed.

7. What I'm Excited About....
The Spring Game is soon, and Ludacris will be performing in concert after the game! College me is super excited!

8. What I'm Watching/Reading....
My mom lent me this book while I was visiting last week, and it's cute.... I mean, being raised in Arkansas, I know a lot of what Reese is sharing and can identify with it, but it just brings me back to my childhood and makes me appreciate my southern roots.
I bought this book when it came out, but haven't found too much time to dig in yet.

9. What I'm Listening To.....
I'm currently writing this while sitting in gymnastics class for Megan and Adalyn.... so lots of little kid noises.
10. What I'm Wearing.....
I bought this dress at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago, and wore it last weekend to my niece's wedding. It was the perfect amount of "flowy" with a fun neckline, and three quarter sleeves.

11. What I'm Doing This Weekend....
I originally thought this weekend would be low key, but DJ has football practice, we have a birthday party to go to, and Gretchen has her acting class practice. So, it's looking like we'll be pretty busy!

12. What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month....

Texas has their Spring Game in two weekends, which means we've made it through Spring Ball, and DJ won't have to wake up at the crack of dawn anymore.

We're also excited about Easter, but we plan on having a low key celebration here at home.

And hopefully, we'll be able to take a weekend and explore the surrounding Austin area a bit.

13. What Else Is New.....
We have a few new flowers in the flower bed.

Monday was gorgeous, so I went to Home Depot, picked up several plants and Megan helped me plant them when we came home. I still have plans to add Lavender, Milkweed, and a big cactus looking plant, that I need to figure out the name of!

Bonus Question..... What's Your Favorite Easter Side Dish.....

Give me all the Broccoli Cheese Rice Casserole! My cousin Kelly makes the best, and thankfully she passed her recipe down to me, so I think I'll have to make it this year!

Spring Break Vibes

Happy Tuesday friends!!

I ended up taking a few days off from blogging for some Spring Break travels last week, and definitely needed yesterday to recover too!

Today, I'm sharing our first half of Spring Break, and then Wednesday it's What's Up Wednesday, and then, I'll share the 2nd part of our Spring Break on Thursday!

It's going to be a busy week! Let's jump right in!
Our Spring Break Sunday left us feeling green since it was St. Patrick's Day. We went to church, and then headed to The Domain to eat Mexican food. The girls finished up their meals with ice cream cones.
Addy and Megan take a baby doll with us, almost everywhere and try to convince people it's their little sister.

I sure do love these two.... my big, and my little.
Addy and I were booth buddies.
And that ice cream was the perfect way to finish off their meals!
Sunday night, the girls stayed up late and watched a movie, and they all slept on the big sofa upstairs. Can you see Adalyn in the middle?
I had to work the first two days of Spring Break, but DJ was off, so he stayed home with the girls. Monday afternoon, I met them at the park.
And then we went on a bike ride, picked flowers, and had a snack outside. It was a gorgeous afternoon!
Megan picked flowers for her Gee and wrote her a poem.
Tuesday, I went to work, and then came home to get Megan to gymnastics. After her class, we went to the Texas/Arkansas baseball game.
So far, we've enjoyed Texas football, women's basketball, and baseball.... DJ and Gretchen hit up a softball game too this year.
All in our seats, and ready to cheer on the horns!
Except, we had this Razorback fan next to us!

Laura and I met in college, and she's been one of my best friends every since. She was maid of honor in my wedding, and I was a bridesmaid in hers. She and her mom, came down to Austin, and had a little Texas road trip. Sadly, they're Razorback fans, but we had fun nagging each other during the game.
Just a girl and some peanuts.
When the bases are loaded for the Razorbacks, everyone puts on these beer mug hats. Laura's mom was kind enough to bring two, and the girls thought it was hilarious to wear them.
This girl, just read most of  the time.

The hogs won the game, and we went home a little sad, but with full hearts since we were able to see Laura and her mom. I'll tell ya, moving away from friends and family is hard, but it always feels like a little piece of home when they're able to come and visit.

See y'all back here tomorrow, and I'll share a little bit of What's Up!
