Weekend Wrap Up

Last Friday night, DJ and I headed downtown to the CMT Crossroads recording and we were exited! We grabbed a bit to eat, got there early to get in line and ended up fairly close to the stage.
2 hours of standing and waiting for the concert to start and they finally started passing out water, which led to rude people cutting in line. See below.
This group of 4 grabbed an empty water box, pretended to pass it out, and cut through a crowd of people to get closer. Then they lit a joint, so that was loads of fun. The guy in the polk a dot shirt (that you can just see his shoulder) ended up taking a hit, and not being able to stand about 5 minutes later.

After Darius Rucker and the other band played the same 3 songs 3 times, they pulled a 40ish minute intermission, where another group of 4 weaved their way through the crowd and stood right in front of us. One song in to the second set and I was ready to leave.

I told DJ that he should see how I react when people sit in seats they didn't have tickets to at football games. It's one of my biggest pet peeves, and I'll immediately get an usher and get them to leave.

Saturday morning we were worshipping Jesus at our church's Easter egg hunt.
Adalyn found her friend and Megan was still young enough to participate. While the little kids were hunting eggs, the big kids got doughnuts and played in bounce houses.
We ran in to potty and take a picture!
These sisters were having so much fun!
It was finally time for their age group to hunt eggs and we were first told they could only grab around 15, but then they were told to grab as many as they could and it was a free for all! Probably a benefit of going last!
Adalyn's basket was FULL!
We found a spot and emptied all of the eggs for the candy, and to make sure they didn't win any of the prizes!

After our egg hunt, we drove to Dripping Springs for Adalyn's soccer games.
We grabbed lunch then watched her play 2 games. Their team lost the first, we had an hour break, and then they played amazing and won the 2nd game.
DJ had sent me this picture from where the CMT awards were being hosted on Sunday night- right across from the football stadium on campus! I told him we should sneak over and watch from the outside Sunday night, but we were both content to stay home in our comfies and watch from the sofa.
Saturday night, Megan spent the night with her great aunt, and Adalyn went to a friend's house for a few hours, so DJ, Gretchen, and I went to eat Mexican food.
The sky on the drive home was a gorgeous pink and blue. We picked up Adalyn from her friend's house, she made a pallet on the floor in our room,
and was quickly asleep!

We all crashed around 10 Saturday night, and opted to stay home on Sunday. As much as I hated missing church, we just needed a day. We're go go go right now, and a day home relaxing, getting laundry done, having a family dinner. It was exactly what we needed.

Tuesday Things

Spring practice for football is in full swing and the girls are keeping me busy with all of their activities! Plus the weather has me wanting to stay outside and soak up the sunshine, and I'm falling way behind on everything else. So, I have lots of Tuesday Things for you today!
I wanted to try to use some of my oils that have just been sitting, so I'm working my way through diffusing and using. Last week, I grabbed Palo Santo oil and paired it with orange. Palo Santo is great for immune health, relaxing, and  detoxing. I love orange with basically anything, and it's also a great relaxing oil. These two paired together was heaven. I've used almost my entire bottle of Palo Santo, and now that I know a little more about it, I know that I need to use it more! Seriously- if you're an oiler- go google this one!

My favorite phone case company released the cutest new cases last week. The cowprint one is sreaming Texas girl! As is the cute pink one with boots, horseshoes, and longhorns of course! This phone case, holds your id or credit cards, and I'm actually taking less and less with me when I head to soccer games or running errands. It's freeing realizing that now that my kids are grown, I'm not lugging a ton of stuff around. And, that loop on the back, folds in and acts as a kickstand if you need to prop your phone up!

Part of my March, wellness box order came in. I placed 3 separate orders- one on my account, one on DJ's account, and then I used DJ's account to redeem the points I had saved up..... My personal order included a box of Ningxia Red and Thieves toothpaste!

This little box, got me 35 points added to my account that I'll later redeem on more free products!

Gabby loves popcorn! The girls do too and usually come home and eat it as an after school snack. As soon as Gretchen sat down with her bag, Gabby was right beside her waiting to eat some.

Thursday night, DJ and I had date night! Two weeks in a row, we've been able to head downtown to meet up with friends!

My little cousin was in town for her Spring Break so we met her and her friends and took them to a few bars on 6th street. So fun! And thankfully, I wasn't too old to party with them, however, I was super tired and lazy the following day.

On Friday, Gabby and I picked up Megan from school, and this is how Megan thought she'd get out of the car. Sigh. Gabby was not impressed and trying to jump out over her.

Then they came in and Megan tried teaching Gabby how to walk on the balance beam.
Adalyn came home from school on Friday and told me that she had spent her day selling bracelets to her friends and she needed to get them made. She got out all of her beads and set to work. She's saving for an ipad mini ;) and thought that selling bracelets might be a good way to do that! But, in light of this, I think our little bracelet shop on Instagram is going to get a little revamp soon!

Friday night, I took Gretchen and Adalyn to The Domain so they could see their cousin while she was still in town. We enjoyed cupcakes from the Sprinkles ATM.

and a drink from Starbucks! Gabby even got her first pupiccino.

They were thrilled to see their big cousin!

Saturday afternoon was spent at soccer.

And then Gabby and I went on a walk Saturday night. DJ brought home pizza and we watched basketball and chilled.

Sunday was filled with church, lots of house cleaning, cookie baking, playing outside, and a family dinner!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was busy! I usually feel like our weekends are fairly relaxing, but this weekend, we were on the go!
Adalyn's school had field day on Friday. Since I was off, I was able to go and watch all of the fun! And gosh, she had so much fun!

She's made so many good friends this year!
Adalyn's class went from station to station, and played ring toss, soccer, frisbee, hula hoops, basketball....so many activities were set up!

They played "head, shoulders, knees, cone" and Adalyn beat her partner almost every time!

More friends, more fun!

Adalyn's class has a pet bearded dragon and she's begged us for one this year! We keep telling her no way! I was even more certain when her teacher tried to get me to hold it during the tug of war game! Nope, absolutely not! Adalyn held him though, and I was brave enough to pet him. But no way would I have one! I have a feeling she's going to have a lot of pets when she grows up and moves out.

After all the games, she ended with a face tattoo, and I said good-bye and went home to enjoy a few quiet hours before the girls came home and our Spring Break offiially began.

Saturday morning, we got up, did some light cleaning and then drove to Dripping Springs for Adalyn's soccer games.
They had to pay 5 on 5 the first game because so many kids were already gone for Spring Break!
She played great and her team won their first game, tied the 2nd game, and Adalyn even scored a goal!

Megan was invited to the Toby Mac concert with her friend. She had the best time!

Sunday morning was a scramble with the time change and getting up and getting ready for church. I had an event after church, so I had to shower, curl my hair, iron my dress, and then help the girls get ready some and it was a mad dash!
After church, I met some friends down town for a Boxt wine tasting event. The wine was delicious and so was the charcuterie.

But hanging with these ladies was the best! Thank you, Katrina for having us!

Tuesday Things

So the past few weeks, I start off writing a Friday Favorites post, and then I get busy and never finish it out. So, today is a mix of Friday Favorites, random thoughts, some weekend wrap. Basically, it's a little bit of everything all in one for you!
Last Sunday, Adalyn asked me to fix her hair for church, and we did this faux braid. It took me a few tries to get it right, but it was so cute!
Megan had cheer tryouts last week. (Gretchen also had dance team tryouts- more on that later). But, I was able to snap this picture before taking Megan back to school for tryouts. I can't believe she's in 7th grade. I also can't believe that we agreed to let her continue training gymnastics and tryout for cheer.
After Megan went to cheer tryouts, Adalyn and I sat outside and did her homework because it was gorgeous! The weather was int he 80s and sunny and we were outside as much as we could be.
Monday night, I took Gabby to the soccer fields with me and we walked while Adalyn practiced, and then we went over and watched the end of her practice. Adalyn would sneak over during her water breaks to pet Gabby and give her attention.

Alright, switching gears..... in January, I blogged about a new make up company I was trying and my makeup routine.

I recently re-ordered the foundation, and then ordered a mineral powder and blush, and friends, I am loving the results. As I use up my old products, I'll be switching over to this make up line and I'll also get the girls started.
Here's a quick pic from using the foundation, powder, and blush that I have.

And a view from the side. At first, I wasn't too sure about the blush color, but I love it.

Gabby rode in the car with me to pick up the girls from school, and she loves too sit right between my seats.

Thursday night we had storms roll in. Thanks to the storms, dance and cheer tryouts were cancelled, but it gave the girls a extra day of practice and Megan was able to go to gymnastics.

Friday morning was tryout day, and my nerves were shot. I kept busy by cleaning the house, running to the carwash and Costco, and then it was time to pick up Megan and help her get ready.

She put on her tryout clothes, did a little make up (I can't believe she's starting to wear some makeup) and we were off. She was feeling pretty confident, but I was still so nervous.

After I dropped off Megan, Adalyn and I sat in the high school parking lot so I could help Gretchen get ready. There wouldn't be enough time for her to come home and get ready and then get back, so we just did everything there. She had to wear her hair in a low bun, so I did that for her. Then she did her make up and was off.

Again, my nerves were shot.

After dropping her off, Adalyn and I ran to pick up balloons and cookies for the girls. Except, by the time we got balloons, Megan called and said she was done! I ended up placing a cookie order on the app and had DJ pick it up on his way home. Then I went to pick up Megan.
We came home to balloons and cookies and anxiously awaited for Gretchen to get done.
Gretchen came home around 8:30 and said her results would be posted that evening.

All of the results were released different than they said they'd be because they had a weather delay for tryouts.
She ate cookies, and then we all went on a walk at about 9 pm to get our mind off things.

We came home at 9:30 and checked the results and found out that Gretchen didn't make the team. Our hearts were broken.

Here's what I wrote on facebook about it:

This girl goes after her dreams like no one I’ve ever seen before.
She always has a new thing she wants to do or is excited about. She has plans for her future. Classes she wants to take. Classes she wants to test out of.
She already talks about college and law school.
Since she was little I’ve said a God has big plans for her and is going to use her for His works.
I think that’s why she’s gone through so much. Because one day she’s going to have this beautiful weaved incredible story that God hand crafted for her.
She didn’t make dance team. We cried. We hugged. We watched trash tv while she ate popcorn.
I know she did her best. She gave it her all. Sometimes that’s not enough and that hurts.
I’ve told her how proud I am of her. How she inspires me all the time.
We are so thankful to those of you who prayed for her this week.
This isn’t the end to her story. She has some other big plans. And I’m so thankful I have a front row seat.

Saturday morning we woke up in much better moods. Sometimes a good cry helps.

Adalyn had 2 soccer games, so DJ, Megan, and I went to cheer her on.
Her team won the 1st game, but lost the 2nd.

We stopped for lunch and Gretchen went over to a friend's house.
We came home and it was gorgeous. We played outside and enjoyed the sunshine.

Saturday night, Adalyn had a friend over and my friend's kiddos came over for a bit to play. We walked to the park and went on some scooter rides.

After pizza and cookies, we finally found out if Megan made the cheer team! Here's a video of her finding out!
Sunday morning, I woke up to these girls sliding down the stairs in a sleeping bag.

It was bring a friend to church day, so DJ took the girls to church. I had to run and get my hair cut, and Gretchen was spending the night with her friend.

Sunday afternoon was a mad dash to get ready for the week, but we did it!
