Our summer has been fabulous, but it is going by so fast!! We have a lot to pack in to our summer fun, and I already know that we are going to run out of time. For now, I'm trying to soak up every single bit that we can. We have 4 years left of Gretchen being at home, and she's already babysitting and busy with church, and I know that next summer will be more of the same! Yikes!
Okay, here's a bit of life lately:
Gretchen had a sleepover at the start of Summer, and I brought home Crumbl cookies. Needless to say, they were an addiction and we couldn't keep our hands off of them. Each Sunday I check the flavors to see if I should buy them. Adalyn definitely enjoyed them too!
Her little freckles pop in the summer time. So precious.
Adalyn is not a "kiss on the lips" kind of girl. When she really wants something that I can convince her she can do/have it only for a kiss.
DJ's father's day present came in early. He's been looking at generator's for a while now. Costco had them on sale, so he bought one and I said it was his father's day gift ;)
We took in some Texas baseball with friends.
I'm a bigger football fan than baseball. The game didn't get good until at least the 7th inning.
We were able to babysit for a friend's little boy and the girls had the best time!
The next day we were going to go to the pool, but Adalyn had a big headache and didn't feel well. We opted to turn the air track in to a big slip n slide and invited some neighbors over to play too!
Last week was busy! Adalyn had soccer camp at UT, so she was at football in the mornings with DJ before camp started. She loved being able to watch the players; plus she has a team for cute quarterbacks.
She even won the camper of the day award during camp!
Wednesday night, Megan was craving some 1:1 time. I had to take Gretchen to youth group, so Megan and I stayed near by and went on a walk. Well, I walked. She did hand stands.
I'm finding it hard to believe that she'll start middle school next year and is entering that pre-teen phase fast!
We picked up Gretchen from paint wars. It's safe to say she had the best time!
Thursday morning, Adalyn led the football video staff in workouts before she headed off to soccer camp!
And on Friday, we picked Pops and Grandma Dee up from the aiprot! We headed straight to soccer camp to watch Adalyn.
She loved her coaches!
And we were able the last 20 minutes of Megan's gymnastics practice.
Saturday afternoon we went bowling and played games at the arcade, while Gretchen was at a birthday party.
And then we went out for dinner at one of our new favorite restaurants, Cork & Barrel.
Sunday morning we celebrated Father's day, and headed off to church. Do you notice the matching shirts for the dads?
Turns out, there were several of them ;)
Scooter rides with Pops after church....
Then we had a cookout, because all of DJ's family just happened to be in Austin! DJ's aunt moved here last Summer. He has a cousin here, and her dad/his uncle was in town visiting them, and then DJ's dad and step mom were here! It's been a long time since we've all been together!
We had a great Father's day celebrating together!
This week DJ's parents will be leaving, Gretchen has youth group, DJ is busy with more recruiting, and Megan has a fun gymnastics surprise!
