Spring Home Finds at Target

I love Target; it's one of my favorite stores for, well.... for everything! Last week, I headed in to the store for some solo me time and find a few things that came home with me and a few things that were just cute! 

The Dollar Spot had the cutest collection of little planters. I loved this blue one, but they also had pink, green, and black stripes. I kept thinking that these would be so cute on a desk as pencil or marker holders. Obviously cute with succulents, but they'd be so fun in a gift basket too! 

I picked up this wooden box for $5.00 to hold mail. We always have it stacked on the counter, and this is perfect for holding it all, plus, I thought Gretchen could put a cute little cricut label on it! And, I need to go back and grab another ;)

I picked up this stackable swivel tray for Gretchen. I thought it was perfect little bracelets and jewelry pieces that she has all over her dresser. 

And how cute are these carrots! I bought some a few years ago, and they're a fun touch to your Easter decor! 

They also had these cute framed prints. I thought they'd be great in a guest bedroom or bathroom, but also in an entry way. And, they have 3 different sizes. 

I loved this wooden cutting board; I think they're a fun way to add depth and texture to your kitchens, and they're so cute that you don't need to hide them away!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was crazy busy. I can't remember the last time we've had a weekend so busy! But, the weather was gorgeous and we just couldn't help but pack in some fun! 

Thursday after school, Megan was at gymnastics. Gretchen was at dance team tryouts, so Adalyn and I headed to the park. I don't know if my kids are the only ones still obsessed with the baby swings but every time we go to the park they climb in the baby swings and ask to be pushed. 

We came home, had leftovers for dinner, and then Adalyn and I went on a walk. I found my first bunny rabbit flowers of the season. These flowers always remind me of my great-grandmother. I use to pick huge bunny rabbit bouquets for her when I was little. 

I picked Gretchen up from dance team tryouts, brought her bouquets just like my mom for me, and took her to get ice cream. She didn't make the team this year, but gosh, we are SO stinking proud of her for trying!

On Friday, the girls asked me to come eat lunch with them at school. They have finally opened the campus to visitors and it was so nice being inside their school and having lunch with them! 

After lunch with the girls, I ran some errands, and then it was back home to pick them up from the school bus. We were all home on Friday, so we went out to eat for dinner at a new restaurant near our house which turned in to a somewhat unpleasant 4 hour experience. We made it back home past the girls bedtime; I watched the 1st episode of Bridgerton, and then it was finally off to bed! 

Saturday morning, DJ headed to football, we took Megan to gymnastics, and then Adalyn and I were off to her soccer game.

After soccer, we had a birthday party, and then the little girls went for a sleepover. Gretchen and I worked planting some flowers and veggies in planters, and crawled in my bed to watch Crazy Rich Asians to round out Saturday night! 

The little girls were back home Sunday morning, we headed off to church, and spent the day cleaning, doing laundry, more outside chores, and I decorated for Easter. DJ grilled burgers. 

I finished off the evening making the yummiest pumpkin muffins with my sourdough discard. I'm working on getting my starter going again after leaving it in the fridge for a while, so now I have a ton of discard to use! 

I added chocolate chips to the muffins, and they were delicious! I used this recipe. 

Whew! This weekend was jam packed for us! We are so glad Spring is here and the weather is gorgeous again! 

 

Spring Break Re-Cap Part 3

I've been recapping our Spring Break vacation, and today, I'm sharing our final day in Gulf Shores. You can read and part 2 if you missed those! 

On day 3, we slept in and DJ cooked a big breakfast for us. We had blueberry muffins (that we made before we left), eggs, hash browns, bacon, fruit, and we even attempted biscuits on the blackstone (which did not work out so well.) The weather was suppose to be 66 and sunny, so we turned Wednesday in to our beach day. 

It wasn't the most beautiful beach day, but we took what we had and enjoyed the sunshine, and lots of wind. The water was cold. Too cold to get in, in my opinion, but the girls got in and didn't seem to care. They ran with the waves up to shore and then right back in. 

We bought little boards for them to play on and I'm so glad we kept them throughout the years because they still use them when we go to the beach (and thankfully we have some beaches right here in Texas so the girls use them more than I thought they would!)

After they played in the water, they warmed up with sweatshirts, towels, and read a little.

Gee and Megan played catch. 

They played in the sand. 

and started digging a ginormous hole with a "slide" I'm so thankful they started digging this hole because about 30 minutes before they were all begging to leave saying they were bored, but I was there to soak up some sun and definitely wasn't ready to leave. 

We finally did leave around 4 and headed back to the camper for burgers and s'mores! 

Since Gretchen is gluten free, we started buying these graham crackers, and all of the girls love them! 

S'mores made with chocolate chip cookies are the best though :) 

It was a fun last evening; and though our trip was short, we had another little adventure up our sleeve. Stay tuned for part 4! 

 

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! After our Spring Break trip last week, and then a packed week, I am ready for the weekend! The little girls have a sleepover and I'm planning some 1:1 time with our big girl.

First up, if you follow me on Instagram, you'll notice a little change coming. As much as I love making reels, and sharing some inspiration for moms, I wanted to create some sharable graphics along with our day to day life. So you'll be seeing these over on the gram and I'm excited to help women worship and find value in their day to day life. 

Adalyn started soccer and she is loving it! She played last year and it took us another year to convince her to play again. We signed her up and she is literally wanting to play every day and practice in the backyard. 

I was scrolling Tik Tok late in to the evening and came across Jordyn's Summer Shirt Project. Jordyn is autistic teen whose family started a shirt business to support Jordyn and give her a job. Since I work with autistic kiddos I absolutely wanted to support Jordyn and her family. They have a ton of designs; you can click here to order your own t-shirt. 

I am newly addicted to this White Light oil. I used it during my yoga practice a few weeks ago, and I've been diffusing it like crazy. White Light is a blend of tree oils. This oil is perfect for uplifting and empowering the spirit and awakening the senses. 

Gretchen switched one of her subjects so she could be a library aid, and found out that she can now check out 5 books at a time instead of 3 since she's an aid. She came home with all of these and was thrilled. 

I came across this meme and laughed. I just had to share it as a favorite today. 

These nail dashes released this week and the floral is perfect for Spring. I placed an order for them and can't wait for them to arrive!

Spring Break Gulf Shores Part 2

I'm wrapping up our Spring Break vacation now that we are back (and wishing we were still there). If you missed part 1, you can click here; today I'm sharing the afternoon of our day 2. 

We woke up Tuesday morning to lots of rain. We drove over to Pensacola to go to the air force museum, but the base was closed to visitors. So, we turned around, headed back to Gulf Shores, and ate lunch at LuLu's. 

By the time we arrived for lunch, the rain had stopped and we were so excited! The forecast called for rain all day, so we were thankful to have the afternoon warm and sunny. 

DJ and Ray tried their hand at the ring toss game and both failed. 

Megan failed too :) 

We walked around while we waited for our table. Unfortunately because of the rain, all of the fun outdoor activities were closed. 

We had a great spot on the water and we were all starving! 

The bathrooms in the main building were closed so we had to run over to the arcade, and took advantage of the photo op on our way back. 

Our food was great! Gretchen and I both ordered their shrimp tacos. And I have to take a moment and brag on the way Lulu's handles allergies, because they were fantastic! They had a huge allergy friendly menu, but they also gave Gretchen her own server and brought her g-free tortilla chips that wouldn't be cross contaminated. Literally, they were fantastic! Sometimes when we go out to eat, being g-free isn't easy, but they made it a breeze. 

After lunch, we headed out for go-carts and then we hit up the arcade where the girls scored big time! 

One of the girls had over 900 tickets, and I think Megan had over 600. They totally scored with the claw machines! 

And then trade it all in for pop its, a squeezy ball, and lots of candy!

We wrapped our trip to The Track with another go-cart ride, this time just the big kids. And by big kids, I mean, DJ and Gretchen. 

Then we were off for some souvenir shopping! 

The girls picked out sweatshirts, DJ and I both grabbed shirts, and Mega really wanted a hermit crab, but DJ wouldn't let her! Ha! 

Our rainy day turned out to be a good day! Even though we weren't on the beach, we made the best of it, and made it in to a "fun" day for the girls!
