What's Up Wednesday

I can't believe this is the last week of August! Summer has flown by, but we've had a great one.

I'm linking up today with Mix & Match Momma for What's Up Wednesday....

1. What We're Eating This Week.....
Anything and Everything in our Refrigerator..... I'm trying to not go to the grocery store this week, and we need to eat everything in our fridge and freezer before we move in a few weeks. So, we'll probably have a hodge podge of meals over the next few weeks.

Last week, I made panko covered chicken strips and the girls ate everything and even asked for seconds. They're huge fans.

2. What I'm Reminiscing About...

All of the fun we had this summer. Seriously, this may be the summer that we traveled the most and made the best memories.
We went to the beach in June, followed by the lake.....

We did some traveling around Oklahoma...
We took the girls to Austin...
We went to Branson....
and back to Austin....
and to Waco.

3. What I'm Loving....
all the time we've been able to spend together.
Summers have always been my favorite time with the girls and this summer had been no exception.
The girls aren't starting school until we are moved and settled in our new state, so we've had lots of time together and the pressure of not going back to school has actually been so good for us.

I think the move will be hard enough and I'm really thankful that we didn't start them for a few weeks of school, just to up and move them in a few weeks.

4. What We've Been Up To.....
all the traveling.
This past weekend we went to my parents house and spent a few days with them. We even got to see Bailey! We sure have missed not having her home with us, but it's been a lot easier with home showings not having her here.
We're also soaking up the last few days of summer!

And psst- Wal-Mart had their pool floats marked down to $7.00 this past weekend!

5. What I'm Dreading.....
MOVING

Kind of ;)

I'm ready to move and be settled in Austin, but, I'm not looking forward to the packing and logistics of the move. Our house hasn't sold, so we're going to be getting settled and carrying still paying our mortgage here and I also have to figure out how I'm going to dismantle the electronics closet, the TV's, and the washer.... I mean, these are things that DJ would take care of, but he's in Texas already.

6. What I'm Working On....
I had dinner with some oil friends this past weekend, and I'm working on writing a class about oils in the bedroom.... oh, yes! And planning a last minute Oklahoma get together before we move.

7. What I'm Excited About.....

FOOTBALL
This year, we'll be cheering on the Longhorns as DJ took a position with their football staff this summer. The girls are way more excited about the cheerleaders, but we can't wait for the first home game to experience the game day atmosphere in Texas.

8. What I'm Watching/Reading....
a lot of trash TV :)

Bachelor in Paradise, Very Cavallari, Real Housewives of Dallas, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.... basically, anything that I don't have to think through.

9. What I'm Listening To.....

Lauren Daigle radio on Pandora is such a blessing. Have y'all heard her new song? You can take a listen to "You Say" here.

10. What I'm Wearing....
lots of workout clothes. I haven't worn anything interesting in a while! Ha!

11. What I'm Doing This Weekend.....

We may have some family coming in town for Tulsa's first home football game, and my mom and her friend may come to visit to head north for the Pioneer Woman. We also have an open house, so hopefully, we're selling our house this weekend!

12. What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month....
Moving and officially becoming residents of Austin.

13. What Else is New.....

Not much... we're just in the mix of a huge transition time. It's exciting and scary and overwhelming, and we're just ready for it to happen. In some ways it's flown by, and in other ways, it's dragged on and on and on. We're just ready to be together as a family in Texas.

14. What's Our Favorite Back to School Tradition....
I love all of our first day of school traditions. All the photos that we take, and being able to look back at them each year. I can't wait to take their first day pictures this year.

Our Oily Life

Once every month, I like to share how I've been using essential oils around our house. I'm always amazed at all of the uses we can come up with!
I mean, sometimes, I still consider myself an sceptic. I've had several friends share that Lemongrass removes nail polish, and I didn't believe it. Until, I tried it myself, and it totally worked! I used a few drops of lemongrass on a cotton ball and it totally took off my nail polish!
I started a cleanse and it lasted a day. Ugh.

But, on the bright side, I still have everything to do the cleanse again, and I'm planning on starting September 1st.

Young Living's cleanse isn't horrible. You start with a Digest & Cleanse tablet, and then make a shake using their Balance Complete. You can add almond milk or berries to it too. Then, you eat a few of their approved snacks throughout the day, and have another shake at each meal. I did the cleanse back in February for the first time, and I need to reset after summer.
A drop of orange on my toothbrush helps to keep my teeth white and won't damage the enamel.
In June, Young Living released an orange blossom moisturizer, formulated for teens, but I'm loving it! At first, I wasn't thrilled with the size of the bottle, but the moisturizer has lasted two months. They also released new primers, and I'm loving the matifying primer.
Savvy Minerals make up for the win!
And on days that I need a boost of energy, these are my go to's. I promise, every woman needs a good B vitamin, and I love Super B! I also make a drink using Ningxia Zyng that is formulated with wolfberries, black pepper essential oil, and other god stuff, and a few ounces of Ningxia Red. Seriously, so good.
And Addy loves to help fill up the diffuser and choose the color. She almost always chooses purple ;)
Raven comes in the starter kit, and at the beginning of August, my nose was stuffed up.... thankfully, it cleared up in a day or two, but Raven was my BFF.
We've had some big emotional feelings this month with our upcoming move. Both me, and the girls. We've been using these oils to help support our crazy emotions, and they helped tremendously!
Fun fact: Young Living carries Thieves mints. I received these for free at convention, and I'm so glad I keep them in my purse, because they're perfect for when the girls need a little treat.
And, I made the yummiest chicken last week with honey, soy, and a few drops of lemon.

If you're still curious about Young Living, you can shoot me a friend request on Facebook, and get added to our oil education group, Essentially Tribe, or follow the Oily Tribe Collective on Instagram. You can also check out more on this blog page. And, if you're ready to grab a Premium Starter Kit, just use this link, and send me an email and I'll gift you $25.00 to use on your next Young Living order!

Exploring Austin

Last week, we were in Austin for a few days visiting DJ and we had lots of fun exploring our new city.
Seriously, I don't think we'll ever run out of things to do there.

Monday afternoon we went to Barton Springs Pool, and swam. It was over 100 degrees outside, but the water was a chilly 65/70 degrees and it was cold!
Eventually, the big girls made their way over to the diving board and had so much fun.
They swam, jumped, and swam some more, and then we finished our time toward the end of the pool, where the water is super shallow.
I love these girls so much!

Psst- do you see the algae in Megan's hand? I didn't notice it until she showed me after the picture.
Tuesday afternoon the girls and I headed to the Austin Nature & Science Center.
We walked the trails, and made our way inside to explore.
They learned about nanoparticles, saw a real working beehive, minerals, bugs, animal furs, birds, and more. There was so much to see!
DJ was home early Tuesday night and we headed out to the original Chuy's for dinner!
We were excited for chips and queso!
After dinner, he drove us to an overlook where you could see downtown Austin.

We headed home Wednesday morning, but made a quick stop to Magnolia.
It was crazy hot!
But the girls had a blast playing and suggested that the next time we go, it should be in the winter! Ha!
We ate lunch at the food trucks on property, and all of our food was delicious, but this strawberry nutella crepe may have been my favorite :)

We are so ready to get moved and settled in Austin!

Sunday Funday

Last Sunday, we woke up in Austin, and headed to see DJ at football practice. It was the first of many, and the girls were excited to be there and see the team practicing.
At the end, they ask DJ if they could climb one of his video towers... two little girls chickened out about half way up.
After practice, the players had an autograph session. I didn't know this was happening, so I didn't pack the girls their Texas shirts- whoops! They didn't care, they were just excited that cheerleaders were there.
After a quick picture with the cheerleaders, the girls each got a poster signed by the players.
And, the players were fabulous! They were so kind and sweet to the girls.
Before heading out, we found another cheerleader ;)
and then we found Bevo! This picture cracks me up because Megan was trying to figure out her "hook em."
We left DJ at his office, and went to lunch.
She cuddled with me while we were waiting for our food.
Our sandwiches were delicious, but the cookies were even better!
After lunch, we headed to The Thinkery to have some fun with new friends.
I didn't get a lot of pictures while we were there, but the girls had a blast. They painted, made crafts, played outside, played in the light room, water room, and finished up in the grocery area.
After a long day, we made it back to DJ's apartment (and the water was back on!).... took baths, and waited for daddy to get home!
