Life Lately

This past week was crazy busy! I think we only survived with God's grace and a lot of prayers. Here's a look at life lately.
The girls got bicycles for Easter and they've been riding whenever they can! Tuesday night, Adalyn and I went on a bike ride around the neighborhood and behind the school.
The girls' bracelet making company has officially launched! They're selling $10.00 bracelets over on Instagram! We spent last week making a few more bracelets and taking some photos for the offocial opening!
Megan has officially started cheer practice! She's so excited to learn cheers and practice. We've talked about camp and all the fun things she has coming up! We've started fundraising to help cover some of her fees and we are so appreciate and thankful for everyone that has helped out!
Adalyn had a choir concert last week. Her friends are all in choir and they did a fabulous job singing songns about the sky, stars, and moon.
I went on a late night walk with the girls and the sky was gorgeous!
The girls had dentist appointments Friday morning and then the two little girls went to school. I let Gretchen stay home with me the rest of the day and we watched a movie and worked on more bracelets.

Megan had gymnastics and Gretchen went to a sleepover after school, so Adalyn and I made a pizza for dinner.

Saturday morning, we had a small garage sale before I had to pick up Gretchen from her sleepover and drop her off at school for play practice. Then the little girls and I headed to the UT spring game

It was fun to be back in DKR for the game and to see how hard the players & coach's have worked this season, but really the girls wanted to go see their football friends!

I had to run back to pick up Gretchen, so I left the girls with DJ while he finished up film, ran home to get Gabby, dropped Gretchen off at her other play practice, and headed back to meet DJ and the girls.
It was Gabby's first time at her namesake, so of course we had to take her to the field for some pictures!

Once DJ had everything wrapped up, we headed to eat at Shoal's Cree, and then headed to Pease park for the girls to play.

The girls had a blast playing and Gretchen ended up getting done early, so we picked her up around 9, and then all headed home! It had been a very busy day!
We've been go-go-go, so we stayed home Sunday morning and rested. We did a few chores, and then the girls begged me to take them to the pool. It was only in the 70s and the water was cold! They lasted about 10 minutes, but they played and had a little photo shoot! I was able to read a book and relax, which was so needed.
Sunday night, I met some friends for dinner and it was so nice to sit and catch up!

Now that Spring ball is over, i'm hoping life will slow down just a tad, and honestly, I'm counting down to summer!

Spring Break Fun

Spring Break looked a little different this year for our family because we opted to stay home rather than travel. It's rare for us to stay home over Spring Break and while part of me longed to be on the road, another part was thankful for a slow week and relaxing evenings being together as a family. I worked Monday through Thursday. Megan had gymnastics each morning, Gretchen went skating with a friend, and Adalyn came with me to work one day. DJ was home with the girls each day watching basketball or working on his long honey-do list.
Wednesday night, the big girls went to church and Adalyn and I cleaned and re-arranged the play room. I moved the couch over to a corner rather than in front of the window, and it's a little more cozy. Part of me is so ready to get rid of toys but I know the girls are still playing and enjoying so many of them, that they're hard to part with. Before long there won't be any toys in this space, and while I'm so ready for a clutter free space, I know that i'll miss the stage of them being little.

Adalyn came to work with me on Thursday. I think she was tired of being stuck at home all week! I was able to cut my day down a little bit, so we didn't put in a full day, but she was a big helper and played great with all of my kids!

When we got home, DJ had us all fill out our March Madness brackets.

And this girl passed her driving test!!!

She turned 15 in January, but we couldn't really figure out the process here in Texas. I got an eemail from her school about an online driver's course, and it included a discount code making it free, and everything she'd need to study for and take the test. Now that she's passed, we've made her an appointment to get in to get her permit, and then we can practice driving and she'll complete the rest of the course.

DJ took Adalyn to the eye doctor last week, and she received a prescription for reading glasses. She was so excited! They came in on Thursday and she could not wait!

Thursday night, DJ and I headed downtown to watch the Texas men's basketball game with a few friends.
Friday morning, we got up and drove to Houston to use our Space Center Membership. We bought it last May thinking we would use it a handful of times, and we just haven't had the time in our schedule. We made it around noon and headed to "meet an astronaut' and listen to his story of when he was in space. He showed us all kinds of cool pictures.

Then we hopped on our tour to see where the astronauts and engineers work on equipment and train. We watched a quick presentation about a telescope, and then learned about the upcoming Mars expedition.

There was a big festival going on so it was super crowded. We decided to call it a day around 2.

After the space center, we went to eat BBQ at Pinkerton's and then made the drive back home.

Friday night, the girls and I curled up in the playroom with Gabby to watch a movie.

Saturday night we headed to campus to watch 2 of the women's March Madness basketball games.
Drake & Louisville played first and we all pickeed Drake to win.... but they lost. The game was so close and the ending was fun to watch!

Then we stayed and cheered on the Lady Longhorns! The girls got a picture with some of the basketball team members. So fun!

And we had close to the floor seats so they lived their best lives watching the cheerleaders and cheering with Hook "Em.

And that night, we finally downloaded Instagram on Gretchen's phone and she was so excited! I had to take a picture of her making her first social medial post!
