In May, we had a free weekend, so we went camping with friends who just bought a new camper for their family! It was so fun spending the weekend with them!

We met at the campground Friday night, and then we went hiking on Saturday morning! 

DJ cooked breakfast. 

And then we headed out on a hike along the lake. 

We ended the night with s'mores!

Adalyn was awarded Narwhal of the month! DJ was able to make it to her award ceremony. 

And Gretchen came home with her letterman jacket! 

Adalyn had field day; and since her big sister volunteered- she took some pics for me! 

These girls had another craft market. 

And we had to take a family pic Sunday morning on the way to church. 

Adalyn's school had multi-cultural night. 

DJ and I wen to the Texas One Fund fundraising night! 

Brooks & Dunn was there in concert and it was so fun! 

Megan had her cheer banquet. 

And this girl just looked too grown up. 

The last day of school rolled around. 

And Adalyn graduated from 5th grade!!! 

May was busy, but it was a blast! 

 

April

April started off with Megan's middle school production of Mean Girls. Her friend came to see the play too! 

Megan decided to work the tech side and help with costumes for the play. 

She also had her 7th grade dance and went with one of her besties! 

It was back to soccer for Adalyn! We went to San Antonio for a tournament. 

She got to have some 1:1 time with me. DJ came down later with the camper! We bought her crocs and took her out for dinner. She thoroughly enjoyed the weekend away 

Gretchen and her friends went outside to watch the eclipse. 

And Adalyn had culture night at her school She was in the dance club at school, and they learned a Hawaiin dance to perform. 

She also performeed a dance with the song from Coco. 

We had another market with Pearly Girls. 

Gretchen was inducted in to the National Honor Society at school. 

I was so proud of this girl! 

And then we were off to the Spring game! 

The girls had a blast playing games at Bevo Blvd. 

And of course we had to get a family picture on the field.

Megan joined the track team and through discus and ran hurdles. 

Gretchen went with her friends to the choir banquet at school. 

The youth group at church had a bake sale for their mission trip, and it was so great to see Gretchen talking to everyone about the trip. 

DJ and I had date night to see Fall Out Boy 

And these two got sweet and cuddly. I love having a front row seat to their sisterhood. 

 

Gretchen's 16th Birthday Trip to DC

On our 3rd day in DC, we had plans to head to the capitol building. 

We got up and grabbed breakfast near our Air B & B. 

And then we took an uber to the capitol building. 

As fun as the tour was, I really wish we would have had tickets to the galley to see the Congress and Senate in action.

Then we headed underground to the Library of Congress. 

Gretchen and I both got library cards so we could go inside the library. 

And then we stopped by the Supreme Court building. 

Then we headed over to Arlington National Cemetary. 

And saw the changing of the guard. 

We grabbed dinner and cupcakes! 

And headed back to our B&B for another early night- I will say the one disappointing thing is that everything closed so early, but we were also so tired from all of the walking, it was nice to turn in early! 

On our final full day- we had tickets to go see the White House! 

A quick stop by the archives building- the line was too long for us to make it in and then be on time for our White House tour. 

We headed through security and made our way in through the side entrance.

After our tour, we headed to the Bible Museum. 

Then grabbed ice cream! 

It was our last night, so we ate ice cream and sat outside on the capitol lawn. 

Grabbed dinner and called it a day!

I am so thankful that the 3 of us were able to have this trip together. We had so much fun and made so many memories
