Happy Father's Day!
Gretchen is very blessed to have a wonderful daddy! Though, she's not always daddy's little girl, she loves him so much! DJ received his main father's day gift a little early, a fire pit for the yard! He's already used it twice and has enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the evenings. Today, we went to church and out to lunch with friends. Later this afternoon, we had ice cream and Gretchen gave DJ his suprise presents: pez and a grill temperature fork. Although, Gretchen didn't really want to give him the gifts (she had a hard time understanding why the boxes I gave to her, she would have to give up to daddy). She finally gave him the gifts after throwing a little fit on the couch, and being the great daddy that he is, he let her play with the boxes after he opened them! DJ also relaxed by watching the Cubs win and then by watching golf!
It has been a great day, as we've celebrated our love for DJ, we have also been reminded of the Heavenly Father that we have; to which we are both very grateful for.

Grant's paci clip
My online friend, Sara, just had her 3rd baby! An adorable little boy! She asked me if I was making paci clips; I had wanted to make them many months ago, but I've never had a great reason or the time to get around to it, until Sara asked! So, just for her I ordered the clips and bought some ribbon, so I could start making them! I'm so glad that she made me make her one; they are absolutely adorable and so much fun to make!
The paci clips come on a metal clip that has a plastic lining, to protect clothes. These clips are suppose to be the best and hold up really well, compared to the plastic clips. I use grosgrain ribbon, because it holds well, and the pacifier is held with a snap closure on the ribbon. Paci clips are $3.00 each.

Our Summer day!
After Gretchen's nap, DJ put together her new water table, and we finally got both of her sprinklers out! I changed Gretchen into her swim suit and out we went. She immediately loved the water table, splashing the water, and pouring it out with the bucket. Then, we showed her the elmo sprinkler. She wasn't too sure at first, but quickly warmed up to the cold water! When she was finished she ate her snack of goldfish crackers, juice, and her very 1st popsicle! After her snack, we hooked up her flower sprinkler, and DJ took her through it a few times. The water was cold, and the sun was coming in and out, so poor Gretchen was cold too! So, we dried off, came inside and gave her an overdue bath! But, there was nothing better than our summer day we shared outside!

Delta Hair Bows
We had a garage sale this weekend, and as soon as I was cleaning everything up a great lady, her daughter, and I'm assuming her husband came up. They purchased an item, and then spotted my clearance hair bows I had, and placed an order for Delta High School cheerleading bows for the daughter and 2 football themed bows for the mom and her friend to 'sport' to their sons football games! I've ordered the ribbon, and I've started on 2 of the 3, so I wanted to share! I absolutely love the large ones with the cheer-themed ribbon! The smaller bow will have a basketball on the center! I really hope they love the bows!

Swim Lessons day 2
Gretchen woke up early this morning, thus she was a little more tired than she has been the last 2 days this week. Which, also meant that she was more stubborn and wanting her own way. So, it was a difficult morning for her, in part because I wouldn't let her play in our bathroom drawers. So, let's fast forward, we get to swim lessons, I could tell in the car that she was already getting tired. We got changed and went to the pool area. She immediately went to her ledge and sat down. I tried taking a few pictures, but the camera battery went dead, so I only got 2 of her on the ledge. We get in the water, and she did much better than I did! It was cold! We played "motor boat", tossed the ball back and forth with our hands, feet, and noses, played "humpty dumpty", and swam after toys. Gretchen loves "humpty dumpty" the best. Everytime we went over to the wall, she said "sit", and I had to gently explain that she couldn't sit on the wall just to play humpty dumpty again. As she was tossing the ball to the 2 boys in the class (she's the only girl), she signed "finished".... she didn't like that game so much and had had enough! She loved throwing the toy into the water and swimming after it- today, she picked out the dinosaur and the boat. She did get to "ride a horse"... on the noodle, but she kept kicking her legs and making me nervous since she was moving around so much! In all, it was a great swim lesson, she seems to be very comfortable in the water (must be DJ's genes), but she was so tired after it was over! She came home and took a nap!

Swim lessons!
Today was Gretchen's 1st swim lessons! We arrived early, but had plenty of time for both of us to change into our swimsuits. We went out to the pool area, and watched while the water aerobics class was finishing up. Gretchen suprisingly sat on a little window edge, only occassionally getting up to run. Thankfully, her bathing suit cover had a hood; which gave me a good handle to grab her! I was nervous that she'd fall down and slip; we need to get her some water shoes too! She was in a great mood and said 'hi' to a few people. Their were 3-5 year olds and their parents there for their swimming lessons, so they have two groups going on at the same time. Finally, it was time for us to get in the pool, and boy was it cold! It took me a second to get use to it, and of course I was holding Gretchen, but at least her tummy was covered a bit! The instructor first had us ease them into the water, up to their heads. We took it very slow, but Gretchen had already decided she was finished, and communicated that by signing "finished" over and over again. I gently told her that she was not finished! Next, we sang a few songs and did the motions in the water. She sat on the pool side and we said the nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty", and as Humpty had a great fall, G got to "jump" in the water; she loved that! Then, she got to pick out a toy and throw it, then swim after it. She loved throwing the toy after a while and swimming to get it. Next, she layed on her back to "look at the stars", which I was nervous that she'd freak, b/c she hates to lay down in the tub! But, she did suprisingly well! The instructor started "blowing bubbles" with her mouth, and G immitated her! We passed a ball back and forth to the other little boy in the class, who happens to be just a few days younger than Gretchen. She also got to sit on the side and kick her legs, just like the "big" kids were doing! She had tons of fun and so did I! We go back on Wednesday for our second lesson and can't wait!
