Life Lately

Hey friends! Happy Thursday.

I thought I'd share a little life lately today. It's been a heck of a week around here, and Tuesday night, I just threw up my arms and had to laugh about how busy we were. I told myself I'd cook dinner, despite having a full night of activities, and then finally called it quits and told DJ that we were doing drive through for dinner.

It's almost the weekend though!

#allthepraisehands

Alright, on to life lately...........
These girls are the best of friends, but they also fight like cats and dogs. (They're currently separated since they just got in to a lovely argument) But, they sure did love each other last Friday when they decided they should dress like each other.
Saturday morning, Gretchen competed in her schools UIL district event. She competed in the oral reading competition and chose a poem by Edgar Allen Poe. Let me start off by saying that since we're new to Texas, I'm not 100% sure what UIL is, but it's some sort of academic meet with different competition events.

Her friend was an alternate, and she wanted to watch the competition, so her mom brought her and they spent the morning together. I left my cell at home during the event, so after Gretchen competed, I ran home to grab my phone and get a quick bite to eat, and I made it back to find Gretchen crying in the cafeteria because she didn't make it through to the 3rd round. She was devastated. But, after hugs and reassurance, and a promise for new books, she was happy again.

We invited her friend to spend a few hours with us since she was the one that actually bought Gretchen a Barnes and Noble gift card for Gretchen's birthday.

After books, we stopped for ice cream.
Remember, the house we were originally going to buy here in Texas? It was just a few houses down from where her friend lives! I know we were suppose to walk away from that house, but I'm sad these two don't live a little closer.
Sunday morning, DJ and I slept in and watched some TV before declaring the entire day a house cleaning day. Our house was a mess after having a birthday party, family in town, and a busy work week.

But first, the girls came downstairs to show me their "twinsies"

Addy and Kit look alike, but they weren't wearing matching clothes....
But these girls were twinning from head to toe.
After we spent the day cleaning, I basically told the girls they couldn't have any toys. They decided to work on puzzles, and their life was basically threatened to make sure they cleaned up after themselves.
This girl's reading has really taken off! She read Wonder Woman to me before bedtime.
I got home early on Wednesday, and I enjoyed a few moments of piece and quiet, The Bachelor, and chocolate mangos.
Then, I picked up the girls from the bus stop.... look at this cutie walking home.

Costco Haul

I absolutely love seeing what people buy from the grocery store. Is that weird?

When we moved to Texas and found a Costco close by, we new we had to join! We had heard friends rave about Costco, but the one in Tulsa was on the south side of town and out of our way.

Now, I'm sharing our Costco haul's, in case y'all have a Costco near you!
Here are a few other hauls I've posted on:
I'm a huge fan of Suja juice. I usually buy it at Target, and dilute it a few mornings a week. I was excited to try this green Suja juice, but my friends, it's not my favorite. I recently tried a green juice from Bolthouse and loved it, but this one is not the same. Since I have it, I'll be mixing it in with fruit smoothies and not drinking this solo.

Also, I have noticed that Costco carries the smaller Suja juices, but unfortunately, it's not the flavors I like, so I haven't bought it yet.
The girls were with me on our last trip, and the Costco samplers were passing out this pulled pork on Hawaiian Breads. The girls all loved it, so I picked up the pulled pork for an easy dinner.
I love these individual apple slices to throw in the girls lunches.
And, the girls are a huge fan of blueberries. I prefer them in muffins :)
I also picked up this riced cauliflower. It has individual bags, and I thought we could add it to Taco Rice, spaghetti, or make mashed cauliflower with it.
I grabbed these granola bars for the girls for their snacks at school.
And then I picked up this bag of squash. I went ahead and washed and cut all of it, and will make a sheet pan dinner with it one night, and then I put the remainder in the freezer.
I'm a fan of this protein drink, especially when I don't have time to fix myself breakfast.
And we're all a HUGE fan of these mangoes!
I bought bell peppers because the girls take raw veggies in their lunch. When I got home from the grocery store, I cut them, and divided them in to individual snack containers, and we'll have chicken fajitas this week with these.
I love their grapes.
and strawberries.
Their Honest Kids juice boxes are about $10.00. I buy these for the girls lunches.
And, even though I don't love the amount of sugar in these, sometimes I'm too exhausted to fix sandwiches, so the girls get these.
This is the second time we've bought Chicken Fried Rice from Costco and we're fans. It's just an easy dinner on busy nights.
And Megan requested that I get orange chicken.
Grape tomatoes for the girls lunches :)
Baby cucumbers, again for the girls lunches.....

See, I give them lots of fruits and veggies so then I don't feel as bad about the uncrustables.
I found these Roll-Ups, and I used them for lunches this past weekend. Super yummy!
We tried this for the first time, but I wasn't a huge fan. The bags were small, so I had to cook both of the packages for our family.
But, we do like these chicken meatballs. On busy nights, we'll eat the meatballs with veggies.
I love buying their chicken breasts because they're individually wrapped.
and their eggs. I'll boil several of these for the girls lunches or their breakfast.

Whew! This last Costco trip was a big one! So, I had a lot to share!

We're still looking forward to trying more meals from Costco, so if you have your favorite, please share in the comments below!

Come On In: Adalyn's Bedroom

Well, I'd say that at this point, our house is 90% put together. With football season going on, it took DJ and I forever to get everything in it's place, and this past weekend, we finished hanging curtains, so we're down to getting one piece for our living room, finishing the office, and the garage.

We defintely have some projects on our to-do list.... shiplap in the living room, painting the entire house, and building an outside patio, but all of those things can wait a bit :)

Today, I'm sharing Adalyn's room!
So, come on in.
Again, we used everything that Adalyn had in our previous home. It's all in great shape, and there wasn't a need to buy new bedding or decor.

Her room is the smallest of the girls, but she still has a great amount of floor space and a nice size closet.

When you walk in to her room, you'll see her bed. Above her bed is a gallery wall that she had in her nursery. We did add the tree painting in her room, which was in Megan's nursery.
Since we have a playroom, the girls only have a few toys in their bedrooms. All of Addy's toys are in this little dollhouse bookcase.
My great-grandfather made the yellow table (I painted it years ago) and it usually holds books at the bottom, but we put most of the books in the playroom. We do have her Spirit barn in this little corner, and I hang her outfits on the hooks, so she can always find what to wear.
Above her dresser, we have a few fun things on the wall. In her last room, we had a unicorn head, but it broke in the move, so we opted for the llama head per her request.
Then, she has a tiny doll corner.
Eventually, we will paint her room, and she's requesting a light pink.

For now, she's happy in her own space!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! I hope you're staying warm!!! I mean, it's been cold here in Texas, but not like the rest of the country and I'm so freaking thankful that we don't live in Indiana anymore! In fact, it was 8 years ago this week that we moved from Indiana to Oklahoma, and now, here we are in Texas.

Life of a football family.

Anyway, I'm linking up and sharing my Friday Favorites today! And, like usual, my favorites are just a random assortment of different things.
First up, you should know that I'm not a coffee drinker. It's too complicated. I also don't drink tea. I literally drink juice, milk, water, and wine.

But...... I needed a warm drink the other day and just happened to have some cappuccino in the house (we have it on hand for when company visits) and I fixed myself a cup, and y'all, it was good!

I mean, soaking up a few minutes of quiet with a hot drink. Now, that's a favorite!
A few weeks ago, DJ was in Las Vegas for a football convention, so we had a girls night. We brought out all the oils, and I let each girl choose two oils to make their own perfume roller bottle.
Megan chose these :)
Gretchen chose Rose and Lavender.

Afterwards, we painted nails, did a face mask, and watched a movie.
We had Gretchen's Harry Potter birthday sleepover last week, and these girls are definitely new favorite friends !
Gretchen participated in her schools Geography Bee on Monday. Out of all the 4th and 5th graders, they selected the 10 highest performing students (from a test they were all given) and Gretchen was one of the top 10!
She came in 3rd place and we were SO proud of her!

She was disappointed in herself and had been crying, but you guys, she was a total rockstar!
I have been loving sharing Bible versus on Instagram lately! You can typically find them in my stories, so be sure to follow me while I share a few of my favorites !
Tuesday afternoon, I ran a few errands with this favorite little girl.
And then the girls had their 100th day of school on Wednesday, so we attempted to dress like 100 year old women.

And y'all, I'm never prepared for these types of days.
Another favorite- cozy yoga pants, a soft tee, and a scarf.

#itscold

That's it for my favorites today!!!

I hope y'all will join me back here next week!
