Life Lately

Life escaped me again and I haven't been blogging- whoops! So, while I have some post planned for this week, I thought I'd kick it off with a big 'ol Life Lately post! 

Megan received her January Kiwi Crate and was so excited that she would get to sew. We spent one afternoon sewing body organs together and putting them on her big poster.

Addy helped with the brain.

I ordered new hair clips from Ryan & Wren on Etsy. These are my favorite hair clips for the girls when they do let me fix their hair. Addy picked out a few of the colors like the hot pink, and the sparkly ones.  

I also ordered her a new dress from Sparkle in Pink. I ordered several dresses last Spring for Adalyn and then completely forgot about this shop. But, y'all, it's super affordable and their dresses are cute! I'd suggest sizing up- this is an 8 on Adalyn. 

Our Vitality drops from Young Living came in and the girls and I have given them a thumbs up to add to our water! Gretchen even took some to school with her and I love that it has electrolytes.

These girls went off with their daddy to our church's Daddy/Daughter Dance and had the best time!

So adorable! 

I had a Young Living friend in town and we met for brunch last Sunday! She's from way up north, so Austin was super warm to her- hence the shorts! I loved meeting Gina since we had been online friends for a couple of years! 

She has three kids and she totally keeps it real on Instagram and I have a feeling you'll just love her! 

Sigh.... homework time isn't always fun, but as long as she's reading, it doesn't matter to me where she is. This day, she decided to lay on the counter while I was prepping dinner. 

Y'all, we had snow this week in Austin!!! The girls still had school, but this was a pretty big deal! 

And we made Valentine boxes.... Adalyn actually had a school project and she has to write this little report about her box- and I totally cheated and went to Target to buy her a pre-made-ish unicorn box. While, Megan, all by herself, comes up with this solar system box. 

This weekend, we had a birthday party out by the airport. It was fun watching the planes take off and land and even more fun playing with friends! 

It was chilly in the morning, but turned out to be a gorgeous day! 

I also kept my friend's daughter this weekend while she was at a conference, and we loved having her with us! 

These girls were about to be have security called on them- ha! 

Sweet, sweet friends. 

While we were at a party, Gretchen was at a UIL event, and she won 1st place in the listening competition! 

The rest of our Saturday was spent at the park, and this girl had zero fun. 

It's been a few wonderful days around here. 

Costco Haul

Well friends, I had a huge Costco haul over the weekend and thought I'd share. 

I'm not sure about y'all but I love seeing what people are feeding their families- mostly because I don't like to think at the grocery store and I know that if my friends like something, then we'll probably like it too. 

This snack mix is hands down our very favorite. 

Confession- we go through the bag in two days tops. 

As soon as we get in the car, the girls and I will break it open and eat it on the way home. 

Because we were wanting to have snacks for our Super Bowl dinner, I picked up some shrimp for us. I have easily thought about just grabbing one of these for dinner because we all love shrimp. 

I picked up a box of Skinny Pop Popcorn for the girls' school snacks. 

The Crab & Corn Chowder is definitely an easy dinner when the girls have gymnastics or a Sunday after church lunch. One container easily feeds 2-3 of us... the little girls aren't soup fans so I usually make them a quesadilla, but to make sure we have leftovers- I have started cooking both. Costco has a ton of soup options- we were eating their Broccoli Cheddar for a while, but they also have Potato soup and Chicken Tortilla soup.

The best butter hands down.

Friends, I fretted over butter forever, because I grew up on Country Crock and I wasn't even sure what real butter was. But, this is butter heaven. And, even though we don't need that much butter at once, I'll buy it and then freeze the ones we don't need.

I grabbed pulled pork, because I need easy dinners on gymnastic nights. 

And this peanut butter is so good! 

The girls love baby cucumbers, so I wash these, chop them up, and put them in containers for their lunches.

And these apple slices have been a life saver for school lunches, but they do seem to go bad pretty fast. 

I picked up these burrito bowls so Gretchen and I could take them for lunch. 

And friends, these breakfast links are so good! I have been eating them for breakfast and they're just yummy! I put one package in the fridge and the others in the freezer.

I also love these Chicken Skewers. They're juicy and are great for a quick work lunch. 

I grabbed queso for the Super Bowl and it was so yummy! I mean, I basically felt like we were at a Mexican restaurant. 

I am trying to expand our vegetable repertoire, and the bag of mixed greens looked really good. I cooked it the other night, and we all ate it without complaints.

and oh my gosh, these smoked sausages were so good! I love that they're organic and grass fed- I chopped 4 of them up with sweet potatoes, bell peppers, squash, and zucchini, and put it all on a sheet pan or dinner. Then, I froze the rest of the sausages so I can make the same meal again. 

And another quickie for work lunches. 

This is our favorite spaghetti sauce! 

And our favorite cheese. I freeze half the bag and put the other half in the fridge.

And the girls love these snack packs for school or an after school snack. 

Whew! That was a big Costco haul y'all! I usually buy our chicken breasts and hamburger meat from Costco as well but we were fully stocked there.

Valentine's Day Decor

This past weekend while the Super Bowl was on TV, I decorated for Valentine's day... it made me happy to put up a few touches around the house.

Our entry way got a few little things to greet you as you walk in...

this little letter board is only half true :) 

I picked up this Rae Dunn sign from TJ Max. 

and this little heart picture from Target. 

Psst- this would be super easy to make with some heart stickers and a canvas. 

Our TV stand got a little festive too. 

I made the fabric banner for Megan's 1st birthday, and I kept it because I knew it would be something we would use again. 

I picked up this little sign from TJ Max too. 

and set out a little heart trinket dish that I picked up from Magnolia in Waco last year. 

I also added a little votive holder- although it's empty ;) 

I found a cute felt heart wreath at Target and stuck it in one of my tobacco baskets. 

Several years ago, I picked up felt envelopes from Target and added the girls monogram and some ribbon to hang them on the chairs. The girls love filling them up with pictures and love notes for each other. 

I added a little tray with a dish towel, heart shaped bowl, Bible verse cards, and we still have flowers that are hanging in there after Gretchen's birthday party a few weeks ago. Costco flowers don't play y'all. 

I added a little throw pillow and blanket to a chair that we don't use for a pop of color. 

And to my little sideboard, I added a painting one of the girl's made with a little red planter. 

Several years ago, I wrapped this heart in red yarn- you know, back when Pinterest was all the rage, and I had more time on my hands. It's hanging on our pantry door. 

and I have another Valentine painting from the girls on an easel in the kitchen. 

Just a few little pops of red and pink to brighten up the house!
