Preschool Christmas Program

The girls had their preschool Christmas program earlier this week. DJ and I tried to take pictures, but the lighting was just horrible. MC was in the performance as well, but we had such horrible seats that we didn't even see her! MC's class also left as soon as their song was over, since they're too little to sit through such a long performance, so we picked her up in her classroom when it was over. But, her class did ring bells for their song.

G's class had a Bible verse to recite, and a few songs to sing.

I'm not sure if this video will work, but I tried!
After the performance, the girls got a cookie, and we came home to get the girls in bed (after taking a few pictures of them in their Christmas dresses.)

When I was done taking pictures of the girls together, G ran off, but MC stayed by the tree- she wanted me to take her picture!

Preschool Christmas Parties

The girls had their Christmas parties at preschool on Thursday. I was very fortunate to be able to go to both of them!
Here's a photo before they left the house this morning. For some reason, every time I take their picture MC insists on practically sitting on top of G.
I got to G's school just as her class was finishing up their Santa visit.
Santa insisted that I take a picture with him and G, because I'll "never have another chance." Who am I to argue with the guy in the red suit?
Then, we went down to G's class and watched them dance and play a few games.
Their snack was a craft activity.... they iced sugar cones with green icing and decorated their "trees" with m&m's.
I think G just made more of a mess though!
Here's G with her completed tree.
 Taking her first bite!
Her classroom did a book exchange and G ended up with a "Brave" book.

MC's party was after their nap, and they had tons of goodies to eat too!

MC received a "Toy Story" book from their book exchange.

Christmas Movie Night

One of my favorite traditions at Christmas, is to curl up and watch Christmas movies! There have been a plethora of movies this year, and we have DVRd many of them! (What did we ever do before DVR).... we still have at least 3 movies that we haven't gotten to watch yet.

We fixed the girls drinks and popped popcorn and settled in to watch a special. It was so much fun!
And, here's a random photo of MC from this past weekend. I was taking pictures of something else, and she just started posing and smiling while sitting in the chair. I just couldn't help but to take her picture. She's such a ham! She loves to have her picture taken!

Please Remember....

As we approach the Christmas season, and Christmas day, and the end of this year, may we be reminded of everything that we have. All of the blessings that have been given to us this year.

This is a time of reflection for so many people, and recently, I've been reflecting on Emmett, and how my full time job, and role as a parent to two little girls, has put Emmett on the back burner of my mind over the last several months.

I wanted to do one more thing to help the memory of Emmett this year. I am asking for a small $5.00 donation from each of my readers. If each of my readers donate just $5.00 we would raise $2,125.00.  I've also asked members of Emmett's facebook group to donate- if each of them donated $5.00 we would raise a more than $3,000 to purchase a search dog for the state of Arizona, in memory of Emmett- the little boy that was found too late.

The paypal fund set up in Emmett's name is esearchdog@yahoo.com. All funds from this account will be transferred to the Search Dog Foundation within the next few months. July 2013, will mark the 3 year anniversary of Emmett's passing.

Thanksgiving at ILCAP

I know this post is late, but I just found these pictures on my camera card! Better late than never!

DJ and I had lunch at ILCAP with G in celebration of Thanksgiving. Her preschool does this every year, and it's so much fun. We decided to leave MC in her classroom, and just have lunch with G. For one, I didn't want MC to think we were picking her up to leave, and then dropping her back off, only to see her cry. And, this is G's last year in preschool, and we thought it would be a good idea to spend this moment with just her.

Here's DJ and G at lunch. She was so excited to have him there!
And G and I. I have no idea why she is making such a silly face! She's wearing her squirrel dress- I totally wish she could wear this all year!
And, here's G with two of her friends. They are such little diva's!

Decorating the Tree

We decorated our Christmas tree a few weeks ago, and I just have not taken the time to upload the pictures! I finally did Sunday evening, because my husband is watching football. Our DVR is set to record Survivor, and I really want to be watching "The Bachelorette" wedding episode, but since I can't change the channel without messing up Survivor or the game, I'm working on some blog posts.

And, now that you know the truth, here's our Christmas photos from decorating the tree:

For some reason, G decided to put on a little dance show before we started.
MC was just taking it all in.
The girls were very excited to see all of our ornaments. G would hang them on the tree, and MC pulled them out and handed them to each of us.
Then, MC decided to join in on some dancing!
G hung most of her ornaments on the bottom, in a row.... I've since moved a few of them, my OCD just couldn't let it go!
Here I am sticking in the pearls and feathers at the top of the tree- they add such a whimsical affect.
And, DJ placing the angel on top. We've both decided that we need a new tree topper this year. Our angel is beautiful, and given to us by my aunt when we got married, but her color is off for the tree, and she just will not sit on top without falling off. As of tonight, she's hiding behind our tree, because she's fallen off at least four times.
And, MC checking out the ornaments.
Taking G's picture in front of the tree.
I attempted some of the girls together, but they were just being too silly. MC only wanted to sit on top of G, or she wanted to lay down.
So, both girls decided to lay down.
MC crawled under the tree to check out the "choo chop" ornaments.
At least I got a decent one of just her.
Then, G decided she wanted more pictures taken of her. But, only wanted to lay down....
 or do back bends.
Here's our tree all lit up at night. I have really loved sitting in the evenings and looking at our tree. It just brings so much peace to my heart.
And, a wider view, full of ambience- our tree and fireplace, complete with a fire.
