Our Oily Life

Every so often, I like to share with y'all how we've been using our essential oils or other products from Young Living. If you've been around here for some time, you know we're obsessed with these plant based products.
Young Living has a wonderful mineral sunscreen that protects from UVA and UVB rays. I love this because it's formulated without UV chemical absorbers, parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, animal derived ingredients or any synthetic ingredients. Basically, it's just good, good stuff! We currently use the SPF 10, but in June, Young Living released a SPF 50, which is reef safe!
Their Insect Repellent is definitely are favorite when we're outside. It's made with 100% essential oils proven to keep bugs away, and it's deet free!
On our road trips, Megan often complained of her tummy hurting, so we often reached for Tummygize.
I love adding a drop of essential oil to my leather earrings from Nickel and Suede. Joy is almost always my go to for perfume.
And, when I needed a burst of energy, I turned to Zyng. It contains wolfberry and black pepper. It contains only 35 mg of naturally occurring caffeine.
We had fruit flies (gross) but after doing some research online, I learned that fruit flies hate these essential oils, so I made sure to diffuse them.
And to freshen up, our garbage disposal, I added a few drops of citrus fresh, turned it on and voila; a fresh sink.
And sometimes, you need a little Christmas in July. Christmas Spirit is a blend of orange, cinnamon bark, and spruce, which creates a warm, spicy, sweet aroma.
Each week, I set aside some time for self care. It always looks different, but I know that I need to refill my cup a bit. I added a few drops of Sensation essential oil to epsom salts and had a relaxing bath.
And, I shared my nightly skincare routine with y'all over on Instagram, but in case y'all missed it, this is a super quick 4 step routine.

I start out with my Mirah cleansing oil, which basically removes the makeup from my face. I follow it up with Orange Blossom Face Wash to remove the dirt. Then, I use a roller that has a blend of lavender, frankincense, and copaiba, and roll it under and around my eyes, and follow up with Sandalwood Moisturizing Cream all over.
To learn more about essential oils, come follow our team page over on Instagram; The Oily Tribe Collective, or search the #HPAgoesoily on Instagram.
And, for the rest of the month, I'm gifting you a SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen for just $1.75 or you can receive a Lavaderm for free, which is wonderful if you're out in the sun!

Young Living has four options when you enroll:
A Savvy Minerals (makeup) starter kit.
The Essential Oils starter kit.
A Thieves Home starter kit.
The Ningxia Red starter kit.

You can head here to enroll and choose your premium starter kit, but email me before you begin the process to claim your Mineral Sunscreen or Lavaderm.

Oklahoma Bucket List

Last week, we decided we needed an Oklahoma Bucket List.... a list of things that we wanted to do before we made our official move, and since it's summer, we're working on knocking off lots of places on our list!

Our list is a compilation of things that we've really enjoyed while we've been here and things that we always said we would do, but never got around to it.
Last week, we headed to the Tulsa Rose Garden and walked around.
We were there right at sunset, so while it was still hot, the sky was gorgeous. Megan was spending the night with a friend, so it was just the big and little exploring.

This girl is getting so big. I can't believe she's 10.
And, I can't believe this one will be starting kindergarten!
She definitely has her own sense of style.

After exploring the garden, we headed downtown to Pinkitzel, which is one of our favorite cupcake places. We just don't get down there often enough. Gretchen and Adalyn had a mint cupcake.
and, I had chocolate truffle.
And, Adalyn may have had a gigantic chocolate covered marshmallow.

Next up on our bucket list, was this reservoir that is in our town. We drive by it often, and the girls have asked for years for us to go, but it's usually on a Sunday night when we were rushing home from football dinners, and we had to get ready for bed and school the next day. Last week, after dinner, I told them we would go, and they were thrilled.
They all had on swimsuits because we had planned to go to the pool that day, but there was rain instead. We walked a little over a mile around the reservoir and stopped to take in the ducks and the sunset.
Next up on our bucket list was The Blue Whale. It's a historic place on Route 66 and it isn't too far away from our house.
The Blue Whale was built by a man as an anniversary present to his wife. It later became a swimming hole, but was eventually shut down and now is a fishing spot, and the whale is open to the public to explore.
We walked from its mouth to its tail.
There are two slides heading out the sides of the whale.
And, then you can go up to an upper deck.
We loved exploring it!
And you can even climb up to the top of the tail.
And hang out of its eyes!
The girls loved exploring! We didn't stay for a long time, but the girls wanted to stay longer. If you're ever on Route 66, it's a quick stop, and there's a little gift shop, where we picked up a post card for Gretchen's collection, bracelets, and a coloring book.

We've got lots more to check off on our list, and hope to be able to mark a few off later this week!

Oklahoma friends, help us out and leave me a comment with your suggestions!

Life Lately

Well, I think we're all caught up on our vacation recaps, our big move, and now we're just settling in to life and trying to get back to "normal" as much as possible since being home.

Plus, Summer is FLYING by, and I'm not ready for that.
We got right back in to gymnastics after having a few weeks off.
And came home to unbelievable sunsets.
These girls baked brownies together.

And Addy enjoyed having glasses for a few days! Ha!
I spent most of my days packing and cleaning and getting our house ready to list, and then one afternoon, we decided to take a break from it all, run some errands, grab dinner, and treat ourselves to snow cones.

The next morning, I woke up and realized that we had missed gymnastics the night before because we were doing all of the above. I had literally lost track of the days.
And Addy confessed to cutting her hair. Thankfully, it's not too horrible.
Later that morning, Adalyn came in dressed as Princess Anna, and told me that I "can be her mom and dad that died."
And the girls had a princess fashion show.
And then they enjoyed a CFA carpet picnic.
Megan pretended she had a pet puppy.
That weekend, DJ's family came to town and we went to his nephew's opening events for that weekends baseball tournament. Adalyn insisted on wearing her Paw Patrol costume, and I obliged, because they're only little once. And she loved playing with her cousin Emmie.
We watched sky divers land on the baseball field.
And, lost a tooth the next day! Which, was a total surprise to all of us- we had no idea one of her molars was loose!
We saw daddy off to Austin.
And spent the afternoon cooling off at the pool.
We had playdates with best friends, and spent the afternoon at the splash pad.

Enjoyed popsicles at The Pop House
And went back to the pool the next day.
And splashed away in the water while the rain came down.

Life Lately has been pretty good.
