We've been on vacation for a week now, and we are having the best time! We've been busy, we've relaxed, and we're making memories! We're currently at the lake, and I could honestly, just stay here forever! Life is so easy here, even though the girls get over-tired! We all took 2 hour naps yesterday afternoon just to recuperate from the fun we've been having!
………………………………………………..
Before we headed out of town last week, we went to C's birthday party! (I'm not using his full name for a little privacy, even though I asked his mom if it was okay to write this post!) C is Gretchen's BFF. Well they may actually be more than BFF's, but because they're just 6 years old, we're going to go with BFF rather than boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife as the two call themselves! I'm not even kidding, they've planned their wedding!
Gretchen and C were in the same kindergarten class this year. We started hearing about C in mid-October, and their "relationship" has progressed from there! The families have met, we approve, and we've become great friends!
Seriously, his mom and I have had so much fun sharing stories between these two!
C requested that he have a Grinch that Stole Christmas birthday party theme, and even in mid-summer, his mom totally ran with it! She rented out a gym and the kids were able to run and play, and after spending an entire day packing for our trip, it was a fun way to wrap up our day!

Adalyn loved crawling around and playing in the gym.
Gretchen and the birthday boy! (They were sitting on little parallel bars, and C kept trying to put his arm around Gretchen, but he kept falling forward!)
The day before the party, I asked Gretchen what she wanted to wear. C had been telling Gretchen for a month that his party was a dress up party! (It really wasn't, but he was trying to convince everyone to dress up!) I finally convinced Gretchen that it was in fact, not a dress up party (she wanted to me buy her an Elsa dress to wear) by texting his mom! Then Gretchen decided she wanted to wear a leotard since the party was being held in a gymnastics gym. I told Gretchen that it was not appropriate to wear a leotard to a party (maybe I would have if it wasn't her BFF's party!), but that she needed to wear appropriate clothes! So, we spent the entire day before trying to figure out what she was going to wear, I swear, my life forwarded to 10 years from now, when Gretchen would be getting ready for a date! She had the hardest time finding the perfect outfit to wear, but we finally found the perfect outfit for running around at a gym and being cute enough for her BFF- ha!
Megan spent the first half of the party whining because she had fallen asleep in the car! She finally warmed up to the party, enjoyed herself, and loved the green cake!
The Grinch came and tried to steal C's presents!
Apparently, C's grandfather borrowed C's grinch mask and rented a Santa suit! C wasn't fooled at all though! He yelled, "grandpa!" And then Gretchen came to the rescue and saved C's presents!
After the presented were saved and opened, and the cake was eaten, it was time to say good-bye!
I guess, Gretchen knew she wouldn't be seeing C for a while!
I made C a Grinch shirt, since he loves the Grinch so much, and his mom texted me this picture after the party! We both agreed he was being GQ cool in this photo!
Thanks C for letting us celebrate your birthday with you! My honey pie's had a blast at your party!
