Hey friends! Happy Thursday.
I thought I'd share a little life lately today. It's been a heck of a week around here, and Tuesday night, I just threw up my arms and had to laugh about how busy we were. I told myself I'd cook dinner, despite having a full night of activities, and then finally called it quits and told DJ that we were doing drive through for dinner.
It's almost the weekend though!

Alright, on to life lately...........
These girls are the best of friends, but they also fight like cats and dogs. (They're currently separated since they just got in to a lovely argument) But, they sure did love each other last Friday when they decided they should dress like each other.
Saturday morning, Gretchen competed in her schools UIL district event. She competed in the oral reading competition and chose a poem by Edgar Allen Poe. Let me start off by saying that since we're new to Texas, I'm not 100% sure what UIL is, but it's some sort of academic meet with different competition events.
Her friend was an alternate, and she wanted to watch the competition, so her mom brought her and they spent the morning together. I left my cell at home during the event, so after Gretchen competed, I ran home to grab my phone and get a quick bite to eat, and I made it back to find Gretchen crying in the cafeteria because she didn't make it through to the 3rd round. She was devastated. But, after hugs and reassurance, and a promise for new books, she was happy again.
We invited her friend to spend a few hours with us since she was the one that actually bought Gretchen a Barnes and Noble gift card for Gretchen's birthday.
After books, we stopped for ice cream.
Remember, the house we were originally going to buy here in Texas? It was just a few houses down from where her friend lives! I know we were suppose to walk away from that house, but I'm sad these two don't live a little closer.
Sunday morning, DJ and I slept in and watched some TV before declaring the entire day a house cleaning day. Our house was a mess after having a birthday party, family in town, and a busy work week.
But first, the girls came downstairs to show me their "twinsies"
Addy and Kit look alike, but they weren't wearing matching clothes....
But these girls were twinning from head to toe.
After we spent the day cleaning, I basically told the girls they couldn't have any toys. They decided to work on puzzles, and their life was basically threatened to make sure they cleaned up after themselves.
This girl's reading has really taken off! She read Wonder Woman to me before bedtime.
I got home early on Wednesday, and I enjoyed a few moments of piece and quiet, The Bachelor, and chocolate mangos.
Then, I picked up the girls from the bus stop.... look at this cutie walking home.
