Show & Tell Tuesday: Steal Vs. Splurge

It's our first Show & Tell Tuesday of 2017, and I"m so excited to be linking up with Momfessionals blog!
Today, we're chatting about our Steals vs. Splurge.... you know, there are some things that I'm willing to splurge on, and other things that I'm want to find at a steal! Today, I'm dishing with just a few of those things!
As far as my make up goes, there are a few things that I'm willing to splurge on, and others that I want to save some money!

My Tarte foundation is something that I splurge on. I absolutely love the coverage, and I love that it's
always paraben free, and is formulated without mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and gluten.

I also splurge on my Naked eye palette

I tend to save on my mascara and blush. And I go back and forth on splurging on powder. (I either wear Tarte or Physician's Formula)
I also splurge on my skincare. It's really important for me to use products that I know are safe, and not packed full of chemicals and harmful ingredients. I use the ART skincare line from Young Living and recently splurged on their Sandalwood Moisture Cream. Now sometimes, I'll save money by making my own face wash too, and I love it equally as well. I make it using coconut oil, baking soda, and then I add in my favorite essential oils for my skin (lavender, tea tree, frankincense, geranium, myrrh, and others!)
I splurge on shampoo for the girls! Again, I want to make sure we're using safe, natural ingredients in our products! So we purchase our shampoo, toothpaste, and many other household products from Young Living.
Over the years, I'll splurge on Matilda Jane dresses for the girls. I love their wholesome looks, and I want my girls to look like little girls. I'm not ready for them to grow up fast, and I think Matilda Jane keeps kids looking like kids.
I'll also splurge on them because I know that their clothes will hold up well and I'll be able to pass them down to each girl. Now, I do look for the steals with Matilda Jane as well! They often have sales on Good Luck Trunk, Zulily, or I purchase from their Buy-Sell-Trade boards.
We splurge on Natives, because I know the girls will be able to wear them throughout most of the year, and they hold up remarkably well! But, I'll save money by purchasing shoes that only need to last one season (sandals) at places like Target.
We also splurge on American Girl dolls.... my girls love them and I know that the quality is impeccable! But we'll also save on the accessories and clothing and buy when I have a coupon code, or we'll buy accessories from the Our Generation line at Target! (We just picked up this horse for Adalyn, and she loves it!)

We work really hard to budget in our family, and for us, there are certain things that we are wiling to spend money on. Items that will hold up for several months or years. We also splurge on organic groceries, GMO-free, etc. when we can. We've learned where we can give and take, and I also know that we don't need high end every little thing. I'm sure with every family it's a little give and a little take... a little steal and a little splurge.
