Fall Q&A

Last week, Erika blogged a little Fall Q&A that she found from The Blended Blog. I thought it looked like fun, and it goes perfect with my "Fall" week!

Alright, here we go!

1. Favorite Fall Sweet Treat?
anything pumpkin ;)

Pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pie.

2. Red, Yellow, or Green Apples?
Red apples (Fuji) and Peanut Butter.

3. Favorite Fall Sports to Play?
I don't play sports, but I'll watch all the football!

4. Best Drink for Fall?
Hmmm... my drink repertoire is pretty low. I'll go with a glass of Moscato after a crazy day or Hot Chocolate on a cozy day!

5. Favorite Fall Activity?
I love our annual trips to the Pumpkin Patch!

6. Must Have Fall Purchase?
Booties. Everyone needs a pair of booties in the Fall.
I also think everyone needs to have a cozy scarf.

7. Pumpkin: Pick your own or store bought?
We always head to the pumpkin patch! Although, our local pumpkin patch just has all of the pumpkins out in areas surrounded by hay, so we're not really picking our own, but it's still just as fun!

8. Real or Fake Pumpkins?
Outside- Real pumpkins.

Inside- give me all the fake ones.

9. Favorite Halloween Costume?
I don't usually dress up for Halloween, but last year I decided to be "an overtired mom", and I personally thought it was hilarious.

But, for my kiddos.....
My absolute favorite was when Gretchen was Little Miss Muffet, and Megan was the Spider that sat down beside her.

10. College Football or NFL?
College football all the way.

11. Fall or Halloween Decor?
Fall :) I have a few Halloween specific decorations, but they're very little! Stay tuned, because tomorrow I'm giving you our Fall House Tour!

12. Raking Leaves or No Leave to Rake?
When DJ and I were engaged, he had a little duplex that had tons and tons of leaves. I remember thinking that I would surprise him and rake all of the leaves about a week before our wedding. That night, I lost a gold band that my mother had given me. Thankfully, my brother in law helped me find it! I'm still shocked that we were able to! Anyway, since then we've never really had leaves to rake and I'm totally fine with that!

13. Favorite Soup?
Potato soup from McCalisters or Chicken & Rice from Panera.

If I have to make my own soup, then I'd probably say a White Chicken Chili since it's so easy to make!

14. Favorite Fall Candle Scent?
We don't burn candles, but give me all the Fall diffuser blends!!! This past weekend I diffused orange, bergamot, and stress away, and it was heavenly!

I make sure I always have Nutmeg, Clove, and Cinnamon Bark in my oil arsenal, so I can create tons of Fall diffuser blends!

15. Love or Hate Pumpkin Spice?
Love it!

16. Short Booties or Tall Boots?
Short booties in the Fall! And then I'll break out the taller boots in the winter.
These booties are super cute!!!! I haven't committed to black booties yet, because they seem so dark, but I have all the heart eyes for these!
As we transition in to cooler temperatures, and winter, then I love a tall riding boot.

17. Favorite Halloween Candy?
I will straight up swipe these from my girls' Halloween baskets. No shame.

18. PSL. Yes or No?
Nope.

19. Hayride or Corn Maze?
Hayride. I do NOT need to get lost in a corn maze. That would send any anxiety through the roof.

20. Favorite Fall TV Show?
Hmmm.... I'm game for just sitting down and watching good sitcoms with DJ. I don't have a particular movie I have to watch in the Fall. This year, I want the girls and I to watch Hocus Pocus, but can you believe, I don't remember ever seeing it!

Okay, that was fun!!!! Choose one of the questions and answer in a comment below! I'd love to hear about your Fall too!

Fall Bucket List

Every year, I write out a Fall bucket list. And this year, I'm way behind. But, life happens, and for the record, life has been cray as of late.
I'm declaring this week "Fall Week" on the blog, and sharing all things Fall. I mean, what else would one do during Fall week?

Without any further ado, here's what we're looking forward scratching off our Fall Bucket List.

All the Fall decorations! I can't wait to share with y'all a little Fall home tour this week!
Finding a perfect shade of Fall nail polish. This color is Piazza Cake by OPI.
Wearing all the hoodies, like this one.
Diffusing all of my Favorite fall oils!

This weekend I diffused Bergamot, Stress Away, and Orange for a "Favorite Flannel Shirt" blend, and oh my was it heavenly!
Taking the girls to the zoo. We haven't been since this summer and it was SO HOT then, but I'm looking forward to a little zoo trip sometime over our Fall Break!
The annual wives trip! This year, we're heading to Connecticut, and I'm so looking forward to a weekend away with my husband, but I'm also looking forward to the fall foliage there!
A trip to the pumpkin patch! I always have plans of it being a wonderful family day with kids smiling happily in the pumpkins, and capturing gorgeous family photos. And, it never happens, but that doesn't stop me from setting unrealistic expectations.
 Carving the perfect jack-o-lanterns.
Trick or Treating until we can't walk anymore!

The girls already have their Halloween costumes, and they're so excited!
Adalyn is Skye from Paw Patrol.
Gretchen is Belle.
Dumping out all of the Halloween candy as soon as we get home.

Celebrating during the rest of our home football games. (We only have three left!)
Celebrate Thanksgiving, and bring Fall festivities to a close!

Friday Favorties

Happy Friday Peeps!!! This week has been long, and frankly just sad. I was devastated last weekend to hear about two local tragedies, resulting in the death of a high school student and then fellow teacher, and finally the news in Vegas. I have been praying fervently all week for Jesus to come quick.
This verse appeared in my Bible app this week, and I loved how timely it was. People, can we all just agree to DO GOOD and to share it with others. Can we be the light that other people are so longing to see and find. Can we be a bright spot amongst the pain and suffering while so tenderly caring for their needs. I pray that somehow I can be the good that others need to see.......................

Today, I'm linking up for Friday Favorites :)
One of my fellow coaches wives has started making the cutest bracelets! She can make any assortment of colors and bracelets for your favorite team! You can find her on Facebook at The Cheering Section, or on Instagram.
Yesterday, I shared some of my FAVORITE Fall clothing in neutrals, and I forgot to share this cozy sweatshirt!  I ordered it during the Nordstrom anniversary sale, and wore it when I was back in Salt Lake for a dinner out.
I absolutely love the detailing on the back, and if you like more color, then it also comes in a blush pink.
Earlier this week, the girls picked out their Halloween costumes! They all had to try them on as soon as we walked out the door!

Adalyn is Skye from Paw Patrol.
Gretchen is Belle.
Friday nigth pizza nights are our FAVORITE! I'm looking forward to another pizza night tonight!
And we finally made it back to church on Sunday! Have an after church photo with John Wesley is their FAVORITE. Check out all of their John Wesley photos here.
Addy Pearl enjoyed a little iPad time after church.....
And y'all, I'm basically loving my newest make up from Savvy Minerals!!! It's completely non toxic, bismuth free, and totally safe for our skin, plus it's just good, good stuff! I promise i'll be sharing more about it soon!
And, look who lost another tooth this week!!! Her big girl tooth was already growing in behind, and I finally convinced her to let me pull it so the tooth fairy could visit!  And lots of y'all shared over on my Facebook page, how much the tooth fairy leaves your kiddos!

Whew, that does it for Friday Favorites!!!!

Who has fun plans for the weekend? Me, well, I'll be catching up on all of the laundry ;)

Neutral Fall Looks

The weather is finally cooling off- praise Jesus, Fall is here!!!!

I'm not a huge color fan in the Fall. For me, color is to be worn in the spring and summer, when everything is bright and fresh! I like for trees, flowers, and pumpkins to be the color in the Fall, and I'm very happy wearing neutral pieces :)

Today, I thought i'd share a few of my favorite pieces for transitioning in to Fall!
I love this top from J. Crew. The stripes, the ruffles. It's a simple tee that is just a little bit dressed up with the ruffle sleeves. I can totally see me wearing this with jeans and booties, or with black pants and heels to the office.
Fall means cozy for me, and I love nothing more than cozying up in a sweater at the end of the day! This cowl neck top is perfect with jeans, or cozying up on a date night!
My favorite jeans recently bit the dust, so I'm on the lookout for a new pair! I love these cuffed jeans with the distressing. Plus, they're less than $60.00!
I love a good dress in the Fall! This one is soft and comfy, and can pretty much take you from running errands, to a casual day at work, or a day date with your favorite person.
This scarf is perfect to throw on in the mornings and take off in the warmer afternoons. Plus, the little details are amazing.
Fall is the perfect time to add a hat as an accessory to complete your look. You could wear this hat with any of the pieces above!

I've pinned several of my Fall looks over on Pinterest, head to my Fashionista board to check them out!

3 Things

I always like to be able to look back and remember just what the girls are in to right now. They grow up so fast, and they're constantly changing. Sometimes, I want to bottle them up. Sadly, babies don't keep, but I can always look back and remember just how they are, right this very moment.

Addy Pearl

1. Right now, she's in to "fake napping". She pretends to fall asleep in the car, and I have to "wake her up" when we get home. I think if she'd pretend a little sooner, she'd actually fall asleep, but she usually waits until we are pulling in to our neighborhood.
2. She is loving school, but this week she's pretending that she doesn't want me to leave when I drop her off. She tells me that she plays with Tatum every day, and she loves the coloring center. Her favorite thing during after-care is the trampoline.
3. She loves her big sister, Megan. She wants to do everything with Megan. They watch You Tube together, play babies together, play school. And they pretty much sleep in the same bed each night. She totally plays off Megan, which means if Megan is acting silly, Adalyn is going to be right beside her.

Megan Claire

1. Megan is in to all things gymnastics. She has taught herself how to do the splits, and will do them anywhere anytime. She especially loves showing her friends all of her gymnastic skills at recess. Handstands, cartwheels, splits. She loves to show off.
2. She has mastered all of her sight word list A, and has a handful of words on list B. She is loving reading (although she doesn't read as often as her big sister- she'd much prefer to play.) But, she wants to read every night when we tuck her in. Right now, her favorite book has been Wacky Wednesday.
3. She can throw a tantrum like a boss. She can go from happy to angry in .5 seconds and those tantrums are epic. She yells and screams and crys, and will just react. They're not a daily occurance, but man, can she be emotional. She's also an epic negotiator. So, if she wants something, she's going to negotiate and find a way to get it.

Gretchen Rose

1. Her nose is in a book 24/7. This hasn't changed, and I don't anticipate it changing anytime soon. She's more interested in books than t.v. or anything else.
2. She's a helper. She is becoming more and more helpful and not complaining as often when I ask for her help.
3. She's a dreamer. She wants to do so many things and unfortunately, we can't do them all. She wants to start a business, learn how to bake and cook, be an actress, go to church every Wednesday, make bracelets (& sell them) and I always feel so bad because there are not enough hours in the day. She has goals, and I know that one day they're going to take her somewhere big.

These girls are my world. They teach me something every single day, and right now, I want to bottle them up, lock them inside, and keep them safe from the hate in the world. But, we're working hard to teach them to love others despite differences, to be kind, and to always trust in God.

Saturdays Are for Football....

Saturdays are for football, and this weekend was no exception. Tulsa took on Navy at home, and it was an exciting game! DJ's sister, brother in law, and our niece and nephew came in to town for the game! We were so thrilled to have them with us this weekend!
Since the coach's wives weren't tailgating, we didn't arrive to the game super early, but we still had time to check out the kids club bounce houses and listen to the band perform pre game!

As we made our way back to the stadium, we passed the tailgate for Naval members that are stationed on the USS Tulsa. We stopped and said hello and thanked them for their service.
And then we found this guy outside of the stadium, who was giving out little football stress relievers. I'm so glad Gretchen grabbed one because it came in handy at the end of the game!
They ended up dropping more mini footballs from this electric truck!

The kids had fun running after the footballs as they fell!
Once we made our way into the stadium, we headed straight for DJ's office, so we could wish him luck before the game, and take a potty break :)
And then we were ready to cheer on our boys!

TU led the first quarter 14-0!
We watched the pom squad perform, and then y'all.......
one of the girls was proposed to and she said "yes!" Isn't that just the sweetest?!
This year, I've managed to keep the girls outside for the first half of the game, and then we head inside for a little bit. Addy was cheering on our boys, and eating a snack in the suite.
Meanwhile, my sister in law were sitting on the floor right by the windows, because it's the best seat!
At the end of the 3rd quarter, we were back outside, and taking selfies to keep ourselves happy. I asked Addy for a picture, and after she takes a "pretty one" she always wants a "silly face".
And her tongue is so red because she just finished a jolly rancher! The girls love to steal them off of Mrs. Micki's desk in the office!

The 4th quarter was a nail biter, and we didn't bring home the W, but our boys are playing hard and making some great offensive and deffensive plays.

It's so funny that growing up, I couldn't care less about football. I was on the dance team in high school, but couldn't tell you if we were on offense or defense, or what the difference was. When I met DJ, I slowly began to learn about the game, and now I can tell you almost anything. Well, maybe i'm not an expert at positions or penalties, but maybe anything else ;) It's become such a part of our life, and we truly love being a part of this college football world.

Lately, I've seen a lot of posts about cheering against us, or fans being upset when teams loose..... lots of "coaches" come out on social media on Saturdays. Can I just ask that you try to remember that these men have families, and we have feelings too. As a wife, you take the losses just as hard as the players and even harder than the fans. We are just as disappointed as the fans are, but even more so because we know that it could be our husband's job on the line. We're only 5 weeks in to the college football season, and there's still more games to be won!
We're so thankful these cousins could be together, and we're raising them to love our boys in blue!

Reign Cane.
