Life Lately

The first few weeks of Summer have been crazy. We literally have not had a day without something on the calendar and it has super stressed me out. Thankfully, we have fallen in to a routine, and our calendar is slowing down a tiny bit- or maybe I'm just numb to it all now. This week and weekend are looking to be a little slower than our last few and after we get through next week, we'll be on a 2 week camping adventure and we cannot wait!

But for today.... here's a little bit of life lately!
Megan is now taking gymnastics 15 hours a week. She goes 3 days a week for 5 hours and not once has she complained about going or how long it is! She loves it and we are excited to see her grow and develop her skills and we are looking forward to her competing this Fall. Her team tank came in and it's super cute and has all the red, white, and blue.
DJ's aunt was in town last week and took the girls swimming one afternoon while I was at work. They literally were there all afternoon!

She also took them to the movies!
Gretchen's youth group is having a blast this Summer! They kicked off their summer series with Paint Wars!!!! Two of Gretchen's friends tagged along and she was so, so excited they were able to come!

I stayed because who would want to miss kids throwing paint at each other?! At one point, Gretchen had on an all white suit and her team was suppose to protect her, and they basically left her for dead.
I'd say they had tons of fun!

Friday afternoon I had a long lunch break, so I stopped by a nutrition shake shop and enjoyed this yummy shake for lunch! I so wish they were closer to my house because I'd probably beat my ice cream addiction and switch over to these for sure.
On Sunday afternoon, life had finally slowed down a bit that I was able to join the girls at the pool and soak up some sun. I took them a few times in May, and haven't been able to get back. I told DJ that all I wanted on Sunday was a few hours at the pool even though I should've been doing laundry or doing some cleaning.
That afternoon we took the girls out on the paddleboard, and they all loved it!
Everyone became more confident and tried standing up- except me!
When Megan hasn't been at gymnastics, she's been in the sun!
We let Gretchen go out on her own and she said she absolutely loved it and wants to go every week! We're definitely going to have to invest in 2 more paddleboards!

Whew! So that's a bit of life lately! Thanks for joining me here today!

Camp Megan

Megan turned 10 in May, but we waited until this weekend to have her birthday party! She requested a camping theme, and I first envisioned having our camper at her party- it is in the shop getting some work done before our big trip, we improvised and had our own little camp in the backyard.
My mom made her "Camp Megan" banner that we hung outside.
Traditions are important to me- and we always get out the girls birthday hats and their serving set for their birthdays.
We had bags of S'mores mix for our guests to take home.
And we had a set up to make S'mores at the party.
We also had "bug spray" and glow sticks as party favors.
Gretchen helped out and designed the Bug Spray labels for us.
And no party is complete without a balloon arch!
While I had planned for our entire party to be outside, it was really hot, and I knew we needed to have all of the food inside. Megan picked out a green tablecloth, and I found fire cut outs, and leaves to set around. I ordered the cupcakes and my mom made camper, tree, sun, and campfire cutouts for her cupcakes.

This girl was ready to party!
Lots of friends!

We ate dinner- hot dogs, chips, fruit, and potato salad.
Then Megan opened her birthday presents. She asked for pool toys and art supplies and her friends delivered big time!
After presents, we had cupcakes!
She made a wish, blew out her candles, and I sent all the kids outside with their cupcakes.

Then, it was time for......
a bug spray fight!
I had really planned for the silly string to go home with the kids, but my plan backfired a bit and it all ended up in our backyard!
But it was totally worth it!
After our bug spray fight, we made s'mores. Lots and lots of s'mores!

It was so fun celebrating Megan and we are so thankful to all of our friends and family that were able to come!

A Day In The Life

A few weeks ago, I captured a day in the life, but I haven't had a chance to blog about it!

So, sit back, grab your coffee, and read a little bit about our day.
My alarm is usually set for 6:15 am. Since I take my showers at night, I just have to get up, and get dressed and ready. Each day, I use Savvy Minerals make up, and I love that it's light- which is perfect for Summer.
I checked the weather- and rain was in the forecast. We had so much rain in Texas a few weeks ago, and I was so over it.
DJ had to be at work early that day, and we had a stowaway in our bed.
Since it was a little cooler, I threw on a sweatshirt, yoga pants, and was ready a little after 7.
I always have a big yeti full of ice water with me. I love adding these vitality drops to it.
After I fixed my cup of water, I took all of my supplements.

Sulferzyme is great for hair and nails. Cortistop for stress release, Ilumineyes for eye health, and Super B for energy.
I grabbed my work computer and a few post cards to work on during my breaks at work- spoiler alert, these post cards were never filled out and they're still in my purse for when I have a spare moment.
I try to count macros and some days are better than others- After I took my supplements, I fixed a quick lunch.
I love these chicken skewers from Costco! They're tasty and not dry.
I also added some dressing for dipping.
Once my lunch was fixed, I filled up the diffuser for the girls and kissed them goodbye.
I was in the car and ready for my hour commute by 7:25.
My day consists of lots of playing. Almost all of my speech kiddos prefer toy cars or balls.
I had teletherapy, and my cell phone doesn't work inside. Thankfully the rain hadn't moved through so I went outside and did my teletherapy session.
I had some cancellations and a break in my day, so I went to Hobby Lobby to buy Megan's birthday presents.
Then it was back to work, and time for lunch!
I came home to find Gretchen helping the girls get ready for gymnastics and our sitter helping out in the kitchen.
Quick hugs before heading right back out the door for gymnastics.
I have to drive and drop Adalyn off at her gym (she was finishing up the month of May there) and then I drive and drop off Megan at her new gym.
I had about 30 minutes in between dropping Megan off and driving back to get Adalyn, so I stopped for ice cream and enjoyed a minute of quiet time in the car.
I picked up Adalyn and then headed home. I needed to feed my sourdough starter, so I did that.
And then I made a big batch of pancakes for dinner because DJ wasn't planning on being home for dinner. He hates breakfast for dinner!
I made lots of extras for the girls to have for breakfast during the week.
And then I ran to pick up Megan. It was someone's birthday party and they brought cookies for everyone.
Once we got home, we worked on a little schoolwork.
And then I showered and washed my face.
I love using these oils after I wash my face. They're perfectly moisturizing.
By 9:30 everyone was in bed, and I was settling in to watch an episode of Outlander.

Whew! I wish I could say that our days have slowed down some now that it's Summer, but they haven't! I'm hoping this week will be a bit slower and easier than the last few have been!
