24 weeks

I'm officially 24 weeks pregnant with Miss Megan Claire! That means, I have about 16 weeks before she gets here!

Megan weighs about 1 lb, but I promise, she already feels like a bag of bricks! The back pain that I've suffered for the last two days has proven that! She's about a foot long and is developing her taste buds! Her lungs are also developing the air sacs and "branches".

She is kicking up a storm, which it's starting to hurt as well. Especially today because I think she is actually kicking the cervix- owza! Above: Here I am 24 weeks pregnant with Gretchen.
And, here I am 24 weeks pregnant with Megan. By looking at the picture, I'd say that I'm bigger now than I was with Gretchen. But, it may also be the angle of the picture... now that DJ's away you won't be getting many more full body shots!

So Many Clothes!

Last week I had three days off work. I decided that in preparation for our moving, that I needed to go through Gretchen's clothes that I had saved, in order to get her closet organized. Plus, I needed to see what clothes we would have available for Baby Megan.
All I have to say, is 'wow!' I have 5 bins of clothes that I believe that Megan could wear. I know that she will not need any onesies or sleepers for the first 3 months. We also have plenty of bottles, and a few spare diapers from Gretchen- although, we intend to cloth diaper. She also has a good amount of clothes for the fall, winter, and spring, as well as tons of shoes! I feel a little more prepared for her considering we haven't purchased much for her!

So, want to know how much I got rid of?
AAAAAAGHHHHH! Yup, that's right. That pile of clothes on the bed is everything that she won't be able to wear! There's also a small box filled with clothes, behind that huge pile, and another box that some clothes were shoved into on the floor behind the bed! I'm hoping to get rid of these suckers in an amazing garage sale and whatever is left over will go to local charities!
So, there's one way to make the most of a snow day! Clean out your closets!!!

Shutter Love Tuesday: Eyelashes

I haven't participated in Shutter Love Tuesday from Trendy Treehouse in quite a while, but when I read what today's theme was, this picture of Gretchen instantly popped into my head. The picture was taken by Captured & Framed photography, when Gretchen was a year old. It's absolutely one of my favorites, and it shows her amazing eyelashes. And, it brings back a flood of memories of how much she has grown over the last two years!

Stow Away!

DJ was packing for Tulsa this weekend. Gretchen decided that she was going to go with him: I asked her if she went with daddy, who would keep me company?
To which, she replied, Bailey.... I informed her that Bailey would be making the trip with daddy.
So, she said..... "Baby Megan!"
I guess I'm out of luck?

Makin' a Goal Monday: Week 6

This weekend went by way too fast! But, it was also very productive! It was nice to have DJ back home with us, after he spent last week in Tulsa. We were able to pack boxes, move some furniture, shovel the driveway, run some errands, and meet with the realtor!

As productive as the week was, I know that I need to have another productive week in order to officially have our house on the market! So, here's the rundown of this weeks goals!

1. Have the painter over and discuss touching up lovely pen marks made by Gretchen!
2. Survive DJ leaving on Monday, and not shed too many tears!
3. Clean & organize our bathroom
4. Organize our closet
5. Organize the guest bedroom into an 'office'.

I'm sure i'll have some deep cleaning projects to do as well, but we're just taking pictures of the house this weekend- so I know i'll have some time to finish those projects later!

I hope your week won't be as busy as mine, but hopefully, it'll be just as productive for you! Do you have any specific goals for the week?

Our Snow Week!

Most of the country was stuck inside because of snow and ice storms last week, and it was no different for us! Gretchen and I had three whole days of fun and being together, and staying warm inside the house! We were thankful that we didn't loose electricity and that we didn't have to go anywhere!

We prepared on Monday evening for the threat of the ice by making banana bread. Gretchen loves to help in the kitchen! Tuesday we played several games of Pretty Pretty Princess that she received at her birthday party.
Here she is playing it again Tuesday night.... yes, we stayed in our pj's all day!
Wednesday evening I turned on a movie for her.
I think by later that night she was getting just as tired of being inside as I was!
How did you all survive your snow days???

Snow Day Bows!

Since we didn't loose electricity from the ice/snow storm, I was able to get several bows made the other night! (yes, it also helps that my husband was away)

These are all listed on my facebook page under "snow day bows", and they range from $4-5.00 each!

I apologize that the color on these bows is awful, but I promise- they're adorable in person! The first is a twisted boutique bow in leopard print! Every little diva needs a leopard print bow!
I love this white twisted boutique bow with the bling center- it's perfect for church!

This stacked twisted boutique bow is perfect for Easter! It features little Easter eggs on top and a lavendar ribbon on the bottom.
And, finally, this giraffe print bow- giraffe print has become very popular over the last year and I'm loving the bow!
Check all of these out & more on my Facebook page!

Fessin Up Friday~ We Survived!

It's already Friday, so that means it's time to Fess Up for my goals for the week. Considering that I've been home for the last three days thanks to our ice storm, I feel like I've done a pretty darn good job!

1. My first goal was to finish a pumpkin clippie and get two orders in the mail..... Sadly, I didn't finish the pumpkin, but I do have two other orders that I can get in the mail! I'll have everything out and in the mail on Monday though.
2. Clean out and organize our guest room closet! Y'all should've seen it- that closet was a mess. Now I will say that it looks a million times better, but sadly the guest room itself is a mess! I decided to not go through the filing cabinets yet, because no one is going to be looking through those while we put our house on the market, so long as it gets done before we move to Oklahoma! I was able to find things for our garage sale that I want to have before we move, and I already have 4 boxes full of stuff! And, I've been through only 2 rooms of the house! Can we say nesting?
3. I did start packing some for DJ for when he 'moves' next week. He has 3 boxes to take with him, and almost a fourth. Although, I know he'll need to take more, but I'm running out of boxes!
4. I didn't cancel our Y membership, but we also didn't make it to the Y this week because of the ice. I didn't even try to get out for Mat Rats this evening!

I feel like I did much more than what I had set goals for. My three days at home should've been relaxing, but taking care of a messy 3 year old and trying to get the house organized for it to be sold is stressful! I'm actually looking forward to going back to work tomorrow!

So, how did y'all do this week? Did you meet all of your goals- or even just 1 of them?

Valentine's Wreath Project

Gretchen and I have been stuck inside for the last THREE days thanks to the ice storm and snow that have passed over our way. After one day of relaxing, the second day became a bit boring, so you can imagine how this third day is going!

I decided that in order to give Gretchen a break from watching t.v. and being lazy, that she would enjoy some arts & crafts time. So, I pulled out a paper plate left over from her birthday party, along with some pink and red construction paper.

First, I cut a hole in the middle of the paper plate, and then I cut out hearts from the red and pink paper. I gave everything to her, along with a glue stick, and let her glue the hearts to the paper plate.
For some reason, she seperated the pink and red hearts, so we have pink on one side and red on the other!
Ta-da! A very simple project, that took at least 10 minutes out of our boring day to complete!

Makin' a Goal Monday: Week 5

Last week, my goal was to survive, and I succeeded! Would it be awful, if I made the exact same goal two weeks in a row?

DJ left tonight for Tulsa. I'm so thankful that this will be a short trip and that he'll be home later this week. I have been avoiding how hard this transition would be for me, because I was so focused on my excitement for his new job, and distracted by all of the planning. But, after leaving him at the airport, reality hit and it became very hard. With my mom's support I was able to make it home without crying (too hard), but once Gretchen and I were home by ourselves, it was much more difficult.

I did realize that I have the sweetest three year old ever though! As she saw me crying tonight, she said, "it's okay mommy, I'm here." And later, she asked if I was sad and why was I sad. So, I explained that I was sad that daddy wasn't here. But, she reminded me that he'd be home soon!

I think I'm more upset that he's gone this week since we're suppose to get ice and snow, that could potentially knock out our power and could leave us with up to 10 inches of snow. I'm just praying if that happens that our schools will be smart and at least give us a 2 hour delay if not go ahead and cancel for a day or two!

So, even though, right now, I just want to survive, I do have a few other goals this week that will hopefully keep me distracted.

1. I need to finish a pumpkin clippie and I have 2 orders to get into the mail.
2. I also need to clean out and organize our guest room closet- go through the file cabinet, and figure out what should be put into a garage sale, go to storage, or thrown out.
3. I also need to start packing for when DJ does officially move- he'll need to take towels with him, so that will give me a chance to also clean out Gretchen's bathroom closet!
4. Finally, I need to go ahead and cancel our Y membership. Even though G is enjoying Mat Rats, I have to face reality, that the most I've been is twice a week in the past several weeks, and since DJ will be gone it would be better to just save the money that we're spending on the membership.

I'm pretty sure I can be successful with the goals this week; I know that with my support system, I can survive and get some other things taken care of as well! So, What are your goals for the week?
