Salt Lake City: Day 1

Last October, I qualified for a trip to Salt Lake City with Young Living. When I boarded the plane last Thursday this was a much awaited and anticipated trip! Young Living hooked me up with the airline tickets and hotel accommodations and took care of most of my meals!

I was really looking forward to this little weekend getaway to help rejuvenate myself. Moms, it's always a good idea to take some time for yourself!
I landed around 4, and made it to my hotel at the Grand America. I was booked for a king, but given a double, and I didn't mind the extra space at all. There was a little sitting area and a balcony that overlooked downtown Salt Lake.
And the bathroom was pretty much to die for.
Young Living also hooked us up with a free backpack, a notebook, pen, a shirt, a signed Gameplan book, as well as Hand Purifier, and two essential oils!

Minutes after arriving, I was already feeling spoiled!
After checking in, I was able to meet my dear friend for the very first time! Cathy and I have worked our businesses side by side for the past two years together, and we were finally able to squeeze each other's necks!

Cathy lives in Florida, and because of the hurricane, we were afraid that she wouldn't be able to make it. But, Young Living pulled through and was able to change her flight (her originally flight was cancelled) and we were able to meet!
We both rested in our rooms, and then met for the Silver Retreat welcome dinner! We found our names on the qualifier boards- so fun!
And then made our way through Young Living executives high fiving us as we found our tables.
On our tables, we found a cute little orange bag with an orange essential oil inside and another free book.
The meal was fairly yummy. Salad, salmon, chicken, rice, and asparagus. We also had a yummy apple dessert.
And, all of the Ningxia Red we could drink!
We met more friends at the dinner, and had a wonderful timing chatting and getting to know each other. Obviously black was our color choice for the evening!
After dinner, all of the Happy Oilers met together for a team picture. This is just a group of people under one particular leader, so we are crosslines from each other, and this group is amazing! This is why I enrolled under our particular leader (and friend). I knew that I would have 100% support when pursuing the business of Young Living.

I earned this trip for achieving the rank of Silver with Young Living, and being able to maintain the rank for three consecutive months. The average monthly income at Silver level is 2500.00. You can view the income disclosure statement here. If you are interested in pursuing Young Living as a business, you can enroll here and receive incredible support.

Show & Tell: What's In Your Bag

Hey, hey! Today I'm linking up with Momfessionals blog for Show & Tell Tuesday, except I know it's really Wednesday, but the link up was pushed back a day.
Today, I'm sharing what's in my bag, and let me be honest, this morning I cleaned out my bag. I had had enough of papers and trash, so you're getting a look at a super clean bag. Just know that it's not the norm.
Here's my bag ;) I purchased it this summer after carrying the same Coach bag for nearly 2 1/2 years. My Coach bag was still in great shape, but I was ready for a change.
And here's the inside.

I either have to have compartments in my purse or I need little bags and pouches so I can keep everything organized. I absolutely cannot stand reaching in to my bag and not finding what I need.
I get lots of compliments on my wallet, and I've had it for a few years. I absolutely love it, and it's in great shape! I purchased it from my favorite Thirty One consultant. This is their "All About the Benjamin" wallet, and each season they come out with new colors.
Also, in my bag, my Louis Vuitton checkbook cover. DJ was the sweetest and bought this for me our very first Christmas together. So, it's almost 12 years old. I still love it.
I realized when I was taking photos that all of my little pouches inside my bag are from Thirty-One.
Inside this little pouch is gum left over from our flights this summer, a bracelet the girls made, a bobby pin, smarties, a hair clip, an unopened bottle of Tylenol, Burt's Bees Lip Balm, earrings from Nickel & Suede, lip gloss from Young Living, and Annie's fruit snacks.
In the side pocket of my purse, I keep Cinnamint Lip Balm and Savvy Minerals lipstick, both from Young Living.
I absolutely love this lipstick.
And then, I have this Thirty-One bag, which I carry my oils in.
These are the oils I most frequently use, so I keep them with me.

Deep Relief, Tummygize, Peppermint, En-R-Gee, Peace & Calming, RC, Thieves Hand Purifier, Snifflease, Valor, and Stress Away.
I also have a little bit of information about the business side of Young Living that I carry with me because I never know when I'll need it.
My planner is almost always in my bag.
I also keep my sunglasses, computer glasses, and keys in my bag.

And psst: if you're constantly staring in to a computer screen, you need these blue light filter glasses. This pair is absolutely adorable, but I purchased mine from Amazon.
And, I almost always have a water bottle with me in my bag.

I also had a random pair of socks in my bag ;)

Now that the girls are older, we've officially gotten out of the diaper bag stage, and I'm so thankful that I'm not carrying around all that I use to!

So, what's in your bag???

Football 2017: TU vs. ULL.

Saturday was our home opener this football season! Just like every home game weekend, you'll find us at the football stadium. Our kick off was at 3, so by the time we arrived to tailgate, and stayed to visit with DJ and his students after the game, it was a full day of football!
Our band performed before the game, and marched in a fun TU formation.
And the football kids were ready to cheer with their hurricane flags in tow. This year, I'm determined to sit in the stands and enjoy the atmosphere and the game. We've almost always spent most of our time in the family suite so the girls could play (and I could concentrate on the game) but they're old enough that they can sit through most of a game and stay entertained. Plus, our stadium isn't usually crowded, so they have some room to move around.
And, sitting in the stands is a bit easier when we can just take silly selfies!

All of the girls received face tattoos before the game from the cheerleaders. In a few weeks, they'll actually get to perform with the cheerleaders on the field!
While, DJ isn't a coach, we are closely connected to football, the coaches, their wives and families. We really understand what it's like to have a husband who isn't home often, but how they try so hard to fit family time in to their busy schedules. I was so thankful this week when DJ was able to take some time off to take the girls to a doctor, so I didn't have to use a 1/2 sick day.

And earlier this week, I saw this post on Facebook, and so much of it is true, even for our girls. Football kids, can move around often. It's hard when your best friend isn't a fan of your dad's team, or when your team isn't the favorite in the state. We've lived in 4 states in 12 years, and while we've been in Tulsa for 7 seasons, we know that it's not always the norm for our football families. However, the football children I know grow in to the most resilient and strong adults that I know. And, I know that our kids will be okay if a time comes where we have to move on.
We spent some time in the family suite during half time and visited with friends during the 3rd quarter, and then made our way back to our section in the 4th quarter. Around this time, the girls decided that it would be fun to make friends with some of the fans in the stands. Adalyn started chatting up a woman a few rows in front of us, and Megan found this man. It sure does take a village.

And this is how we feel after a Tulsa Win!

So we are currently 1-1 in our season.
After the game, we hung around with DJ and his students and chatted them up about school and their excitement for the season. DJ has an amazing position to influence the lives of young college students. Many of them have gone on to be video coordinators themselves, work in athletics, or become successful in their chosen careers. We're so thankful for the students that have entered our lives, and we hope that we can have a positive impact on them as they do on us.

Here's to next weekend, and our away game at Toledo.

Friday Favorites: A Long Favorite Edition

Hey, hey Friday! It's been a really good week around here but I feel like September is already flying by. Anyone else???
I'm linking up today for Friday Favorites and sharing a random little mess of my favorites.
First up, this scarf. It's not quite scarf weather just yet, but I know I'll be breaking this one out soon! I purchased it during Nordstrom's anniversary sale, and I'm already in love. I can't wait for the cooler weather so I can wear it! Unfortunately, it's currently sold out, but this one is a cute similar option!
Earlier this week, I shared how I survive the week with a Sunday food prep session, and I also shared these recent "pop tart" finds. You guys, they are delicious, and a must try. For reals. Frist, pumpkin. Do I really need to say more? And second, I had someone ask me if they tasted similar to real pop tarts, and I only have to say that they taste better. Plus, they're Non-GMO, and certified organic.

You guys know we're oil fanatics at our house, but getting oils and products for FREE is an absolute favorite! In August, I ordered two bottles of Ningxia Red, Thieves Dish Soap, and Hand Purifier for the girls and only paid shipping. #yesplease
And when my face is wanting to act like a teenager again, I break out the big guns. Tea Tree, Frank, and Witch Hazel. I use this as a toner after I remove my make up.
And sometimes you need a little pick me up. It was hard getting back in to the swing of school after having a 3 day weekend. And, because of teacher development last week, the girls had a 5 day weekend!
This verse was a favorite of mine that popped up last week. Man, as a mom, speech therapist, business owner, I can become weary. But I know that I need to put God first, and HE will provide us with the harvest in His timing. I just have to put my head down and get to work.
Gretchen calling me a "brat" when she did her spelling homework was not my favorite. And really, do our kids need to know how to spell brat? Who wrote that spelling list???
Taking babies to the park- always a favorite!
Our Sunday morning photos- a weekly favorite. And check out the photo bomber sticking out her tongue in the background. Check out all of our Sunday photos on Instagram with the #andJohnWesleytoo
Sunday afternoon, I got an itch to rearrange furniture in our living room. I pulled everything in, switched around the sofa with the sideboard, and it's just much cozier.
After our Sunday dinners, I surprised the girls with an ice cream stop.
And after the gym on Labor Day, we had protein shakes and smoothies for lunch.
The girls are always begging to get a shake from the gym, so I said yes, and let them on Monday. Plus, I didn't have to take them out to eat! Total win in my book.
After a trip to Hobby Lobby, I found a few more signs to hang in our guest bathroom. I had been looking for a long sign, but couldn't find one that I liked, so these two worked out well.
While I was doing some meal prep, the girls got to work making bracelets for themselves and their friends.
They did a pretty fantastic job!
On Tuesday, we celebrated the life of the most precious little girl with big doe eyes. Throughout tragedy, I've learned to love bigger, be more present, and take time for the little things. And that Jesus is much bigger than we all realize.
And on Wednesday afternoon, we passed time in the waiting room by watching Sing. It's still on repeat and the girls favorite movie!

Whew! So for that long list of Friday Favorites! We've had a lot going on, and I just wanted to catch up on it all! Next week, I'm bringing back my Wardrobe Wednesday series and thinking that I'll share some Fall shoe finds, and I have the cutest new bracelet company to share with y'all!

Enjoy your weekend!
