Earth Day: Green Cleaning

I told you guys in my last Earth Day post, that I tried using "green" cleaners in my house last summer, and I plan to do the same thing this summer- and only continue it throughout the year(s).

Here are some of my favorite green cleaning tips!

- Use baking soda to clean the scum out of your tub.
- Sprinkle baking soda as a carpet refresher.
- Put a 1/2 lemon in your garbage disposal to fresh it up.
- Disinfectant- Mix 2 cups of water, 3 tablespoons of liquid soap, and 20-30 drops of tea tree oil.
- Use baking soda and water to clean kitchen cabinets. Sprinkle baking soda on and scrub with a wet towel.
- Window cleaner- mix 2 tablespoons white vinegar, with a gallon of water. Use newspaper to clean your windows.
- To clean the inside of your oven, make a paste of baking soda and water, and let sit overnight. Clean off the grime, and then make it shine with a damp cloth.
-For clogged drains, pour a 1/2 cup of baking soda followed by 2 cups of boiling water down the drain.

Enjoy these tips and get started on having a "greener" home and more money in your pocketbook!
