Our 3rd day in Miami started out with a slow morning. DJ was out the door bright and early, but I needed some sleep after having too much fun at the soiree the night before.
Around 10 we made our way down to the pool. I was trying to avoid the beach in the morning since I knew we would be there in the afternoon, and it was a bit cooler than the day before.
The girls would swim for a little bit and then cuddle up in towels to get warm again.
The sun would come in and out, and Megan found a coconut somewhere. She was so proud of it! And to be honest I'm not 100% sure it is a coconut, but she thinks it is, so we're going for it!
Nana swam with the girls and I snuck off for a massage at the spa.
An hour later, I was back and the girls were still in the pool. They had lunch and snow cones and were obviously having a great time!
DJ finally made it to the pool a little after 1. It was the first time that he had been able to join us since arriving. The girls were pumped to see him!
There was a beach bowl bash on Saturday afternoon, so we headed to the beach to play games, dance, and splash in the water.
DJ and the little girls played corn hole, and Gretchen played checkers with a friend.
Hey there Nana! I'm so glad you're here! Seriously, she was the best help that I could've had on this trip! DJ's mom tries to make it to all of our bowl trips but this is the first one where she's been the entire time. Each year I forget how much work it is to have three girls in a hotel, and how hard it is to keep them occupied. Plus, you throw in naps, and it's exhausting. Thankfully, the girls are getting older, we skipped naps this time and opted for early bed times, and it's the first time that I just felt relaxed while we were on one of these trips.
A little family photo by the water before heading in to the bbq.
That day was our 11 year anniversary, so DJ and I decided to walk around South Beach.
And hey look, palm trees with Christmas lights!
We came back to our room and everyone was sleeping. I snuggled in the bed to watch t.v. and heard a knock on our door. And look at what arrived! Some yummy chocolate treats, truffles, and a macaroon for us to enjoy!
Day 3 was a blast!!! And, head back tomorrow (I know it's Christmas Eve) but I'll be blogging about our Wives Day out and I'm hoping to squeeze in the bowl day festivities too!
