Christmas is just a few weeks away and it's time for our family to start our Christmas Traditions!!! I'm sharing our favorite family traditions today, and I can't wait to hear yours too!
First up, our Elf on the Shelf!
We have two actually.... we had lost one in our move, and then bought another one, and then of course I found our old elf. One night last year, I had a crazy idea of putting both of them out together, and we've been stuck with two ever since!
A few years ago, we went to Pizza with Santa, and the girls had a blast. We haven't been able to fit it in to our schedules over recent years, and we won't be able to go this year but the girls had a blast that year!
Matching Christmas pajamas are a must!
Every year, we get on pj's and decorate the Christmas tree!
School holiday parties are always so much fun! Gretchen got to make this cute hot cocoa cupcake last year at her party!
Each year the girls put on their pj's, we grab some hot cocoa, and a cookie and head out to look at lights. This house has our favorite light display! The girls are already asking about the singing Christmas trees and wanting to know when we're going to look at lights! I'm really hoping we can fit it in this weekend!
The girls love to help me wrap Christmas presents!
And lots of holiday baking happens! We make chocolate covered potato chips,
and oreo truffles!
The girls enjoy our annual visits to see Santa.
And football bowl games are seeming to be a continuing tradition for us too! This year, we're heading to Miami! (Except will be home for Christmas, unlike last year)
On Christmas Eve morning, our elves typically leave us with a good-bye breakfast! We eat powdered doughnuts, fruit, and enjoy sitting around the table and planning our activities for the day!
On Christmas Eve, we go to church, and then come home and feed the reindeer!
We set out our chocolate chip cookies for Santa.
And say good-bye to our elves! This is the first time that the girls are allowed to touch the elves each year without ruining their magic.
I can't wait to celebrate Christmas with our girls! Each year we continue old traditions and we make new ones!
